sorry to be so provocative, but this has been on my mind recently. with our recent efforts to ensure that yoshiki takaya gets his dues for his work, there have been a few responses. some people reacted very positively and strongly showing great support for this endeavour. some people were understandably upset due to their difficulties either financially or logistically. some people only care that they can't get free manga any more. The fact that there are any people that are in number 3 upsets me greatly. even people that we previously considered fellow guyver fans, may not actually be people we would want to call friend because they are selfish and merely want to rip-off the producer of guyver. now, I am not going to assume what is in anybody's head from their actions or their words. I will allow people to present themself how they wish and will merely react accordingly. but I am sure there are people who will have this attitude. I'd like to say that if any person who has attitude number 3, get the hell out of here. there is nothing for you here. but well, that is something that I would like to say, actually, this site is a welcoming place in general. for people in position number 2, we'd all love to help out and for people in position number 1, you are great and should be proud of the fact that you are a wonderful human being. ah well that is enough of my views on the matter, I want to hear what yo think. P.S. if anyone here is watching this and thinking that we are merely trying to make money, you guys should know that our margin is something like, less than £1 per book and that is in place as leeway in case of increased post costs etc. there is actually a possibility that I may make a significant financial loss if postage prices increase significantly. Also, current order volumes do not allow us to work with a books wholesaler so we cannot get bulk ordering discounts. This is the sad reality of things. people think we are trying to make money off of this. simply put, it's not financially viable for us to try and make money right now, it would make the books unaffordable for most guyver fans.

Since we've already cast reasonable doubt on it, you really do need to provide a credible source for your assertion. -
well i finally got round to giving you a welcome. I see that you are very talkative. I can understand why you are more likely to be a fan of Twilight. we all have masculine and feminine traits and your manner of writing and talking does point towards your feminine traits when it comes to literature. This is not to suggest that you are in any way girly, it is in fact more likely that you are a real man if you can be comfortable with your more feminine traits. I do hope I haven't offended you with that observation. I don't hate Twilight really. it came on tv and i decided to leave it on and watch it while doing other stuff. it wasn't bad, but it was obviously aimed at young women. I mean the parts where the camera focuses on Edward and his shiny eyes, it is very much a feminine way of looking at him. it represented him as the romantic type of male, rather than what men see as a man they can look up to. This is not to say there is anything wrong with that, I just found it to be difficult to relate to i that respect, but the other parts were fairly interesting. the events were quite good when he was fighting that other guy and he smashed him into the floor and threw him across the room. that was quite cool.

you say hyper zoanoids can survive nuclear weapons but I am not sure where you drew that from. I need to point out that the megasmasher is comparable to a nuclear explosion and hyper zoanoids most certainly cannot withstand that. The only one who has been called a hyper and withstood a blast of that power, was neo zx-tole but he had clearly become a lost number by that point. His power had been ramped up to a whole other level. -
We have had some small chats about sports in some other topics, not too long ago there was a little bit of talk about the superbowl. But nothing major. so it is good that you started this topic. for those who like sports at least! as a general rule, I have never been a sports fan. I've never been invested. I think sometimes sports comes as part of a social bond between father and son or some other similar relationships. I think this is why I recently found a real interest in a sport. It's due to my friend that I hang out with every saturday. he watches football (not american football) a lot but I just can't stand it. those boys are just pathetic, crying over spilt milk most of the time. especially when comparing to my national sport, Rugby. I started to take real interest in Rugby last year when Wales won the Six nations with the triple crown, i.e. won every single match. Of course, the fact that this also speaks to my national pride is a big deal. watching Wales annihilate England is always going to be exciting and my friend shares the same view. Last nights Six nations 2013 decider match was pretty incredible, I never thought I'd be so excited watching any kind of sports, but that match was just incredible. England played well to start off with but over time they were sloppy and underhanded. They kept pushing the scrum down too early and committed a fair few penalties. Pretty damn good defence though, there was an incredible push towards the line at one point, but they were fairly impenetrable. People compare Rugby to American football but there are some major differences. In Rugby they don't wear armour, but from what I can see, they are just as violent. I think there is a major difference in what I have seen when it comes to tackling. in Rugby there is more close contact, in American football it seems to be more a case of hit and run. I think Rugby really impresses me because it's not unusual to see a player still on the field with blood running down his face. I think that is what a real man is and it makes me proud of our team to see them go through that for our national pride. Compare that to other sports where a player might go off because of a skinned knee I think American football is generally more dangerous though. They are wearing armour so they don't hold back as much. it's like boxing. when they started wearing gloves, they started hitting harder and became far more dangerous. for those interested, here is highlights of last nights match. I hope you can see this in other countries. if not, I'll try and find some other footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyMl7VCP0TE

I'm very happy about the way things are going at the moment. It's not been easy, but I think the right choices have been made. I think the site is working as it currently is. of course i am lazy and could tie things together much better. I think at some point, we could do with getting a clear picture of the structure of the wiki and to organise a little bit. also, I could do with fixing up a decent header to tie the whole site together fully. to be honest, before I do that I want to get forum software up to scratch which probably means saving the money and switching to vbulletin.

wow, it's awesome to sell something that you enjoyed making! I still haven't completed my first bit of weaving. I made good progress on it at the airport, but it's still not half done.

That's pretty awesome

last we saw, in book 27, barcas flew off, archanfel was stood up exuding confidence and energy. I am sure we haven't seen him between then and now.

I agree with your sentiments youngguyver. A purely online service where we can deal directly with Takaya Sensei and send him payments. That would be much more preferable, but up til now any efforts to contact Yoshiki Takaya have been fruitless. also.... Unfortunately we need to be aware of things like this - JManga Shuts Down

I don't really hate the samba music. I'm just curious as to the reason for it. it seems like an odd theme since it doesn't seem to relate to the dinosaurs or anything else. I actually like the music as it really makes it fun, I love how the mecha unite, the mechanical nature of it is something i have yearned for for quite a while. and then when the kyouryujin forms, he does a little dance, that is so funny!

Odin, hmm, that is an interesting observation... I had not noticed that! are they the same colours? hmmm. so yeah it is good fun and i love how each of the characters is given their own life and their own auxiliary characters. That is not something I recall seeing very much of. I mean, i suppose the last thing I can remember of each of the characters having their own life, is hurricanger. I am specifically thinking of kouta's sister at the moment. but that was just one episode. it's kinda weird that they use samba i their transformations... I am still finding that a bit odd I wonder if they will offer some kind of explanation...

I have two of those. if you can't find decent scans, I can scan my boxes. I have libertus and griselda. oh but they were random. so there is only one box design for each series. I have series #1

additional - it never occurred to me, the mp3 is 22mb so that is perhaps better being loaded to youtube or something? I can't load it to my channel, can somebody help with that?
-
ok thanks for scanning these sully, and the cd is kinda interesting too. nice to hear yoshiki takaya interview. I'll try and see if I can pick out some info from that later on. I've optimised these scans and I have initiated transfer to the server. they should be up shortly. so you can delete all those from your server if you want, thanks! http://www.japan-legend.com/guyver_advocacy/TickeMaga I'm also loading the mp3 to the server so I'll try and place it in a player in a post when it is done.

awesome stuff, I need to look at these properly tomorrow. Hey Sully, where did you get that text, did you type that out from reading the book, or was it sourced from teh CD or something?

haven't quite seen episode 3 yet.... but episode 2 was a vast improvement over ep 1. episode 1 felt a little rushed and felt like it was missing something. it felt a little empty. but episode 2 was great. it shows such great potential for character development. I like how fleshed out these guys are already.

now we have some context. things make a little more sense now. The general assumption here is that we are young adult males because of the themes. after all guyver is a shonen manga with lots of blood and killing. anyhow, the fact you are a minor does explain a lot, but seriously, if you ask our help, we are more than willing to help a fellow guyver fan. I can sympathise with somebody having difficulties and It's not like we block people from posting links to RAWs etc. we all have financial difficulties, that is for sure. people just need to understand that guyver advocacy has a large responsibility. we tried to get guyver an english release but that hasn't worked well so we need another tactic to get people buying guyver manga and enjoying it in english. not because the publishers decided to do it but because it is the right thing to do. we actually have it within our power to improve the cashflow of the guyver franchise and that may not be a huge difference, but it does increase the likelihood of more guyver projects in the future, like the figma's, like an anime or a movie or whatever. plus, there are generous people on this forum. there have already been a couple of members who have donated books. if they see a member who is truly in need, they might be willing to help out, but it depends on what attitude is present. If people sympathise with you they might offer to help, but that all depends on how you present yourself.

town mook book? I think lost unit was doing something with that. I'm sure he'd be delighted to have assistance with that. I translated some parts from these first pages. where there is lots of kanji and no furigana, I've left a hash # because i'm too lazy to look them all up right now. Odin, I need to point out that the thread title was written by me when i split it from hte pre-order thread. I was struggling to figure out what to call it, perhaps i should change it...
-
yes we are selling at cost. don't you dare presume to know the channels by which we need to order these and what it will cost us. and you clearly don't understand the concept of theft. taking something without paying. every time you look at a chapter yoshiki takaya has drawn and written, you are taking it without paying. whether you can understand it , or not, is irrelevant. he produced it to sell and you are taking it without paying. seriously you need to shut the hell up and go and read about what piracy is before you reply again because I am getting PISSED. I'm under no illusions that I read stuff illegally online and I would like to change that if I can. I read Naruto, because it's easy. I think I would like it if the scanlation groups did the same as what we are doing. I would pay. truth is, if we can get something easily, a lot of us tend to. because we're fallible. But when people pretend that it's ok.... that's not on. There is legitimate means. you need to try harder. said the car thief
-
oh durendal, please don't say things like this! You're a lovely person really. Enzyme eternal, my post was really meaning to say that your attitude seems to be " If I can't afford it or get it by legitimate means, it should be okay to steal it". what you said was rather illogical as you also kinda said "if i can't find a way to buy a product, I can't enjoy that product?" well yeah that is kinda the way the world works. The things you are saying, don't make much sense. from the very start guyver advocacy existed to promote guyver by the best means and aim to improve the sales of guyver product. We do not approve and never will approve of taking something for free simply because you don't want to go to too much trouble. when we translate from japanese into english do you think it is easy? The kind of attitude that comes across from your posts is very unpleasant. If you like guyver then you should be willing to put in a little effort and finance in order to be able to read it.
