  1. zeo1234, there is a slight flaw in what you are saying. there are parts of the human body that do not contain DNA. Im pretty sure that some blood cells don't have DNA. so when the guyver regenerates the host does it leave those parts out? not that i'm saying that its a direct parallel to clothes etc but there is no basis in the 'no dna' argument to say thats why the guyver would not regenerate clothing. now before you say that it would generate these things because it is in our natural makup to have these things manufactured, it is in our natural makup to make and wear clothes. so if the guyver makes those things necessary in the body that do not have dna then it would also make things that are necessary to the human condition. it has a map of the hosts mind so theres no reason why (as was mentioned earlier) the guyver cannot use the residual self image to create what the host deems is necessary.
  2. I'd have to agree on some points. about the guyver maybe being able to repair clothes at its whim... why couldn't that be possible? although sho has been killed and when he was brought back there was no clothes maybe that was because there was no template for the guyver to work off? after all anything is possible it is science fiction isn't it? either way can't be proven coz it isn't actually written down anywhere "the guyver can't regenerate polyester" so this is all actually just speculation. since FOG3 actually has brought forward some evidence that suggests that the clothes can be repaired i would think that the conclusion would be the guyver can regenerate clothing... to a point. thats my view anyway.
  3. cool ! cheers dude!
  4. Does anybody know where i can purchase the italian guyver books published by star comics? any website that will ship to the uk or maybe one of you guys have them?

did anybody read my translation in the fanfic section?

POSSIBLE SPOILERS. (up to and incl. book 23) Leonard, you say that sho is currently a prisonerr of the renegades. Does that mean you are at the end of book 22? otherwise, as we all see it he is fighting evil aptom on the top of a building at the end of book 23. so either you are confusing things slightly or you have read the shonen ace and are committing a BIG spoiler, ruining my reading of vol 24. if this is the case we would all appreciate it if you mark your spoilers clearly.

I don't think the earth is really in danger at the moment. the creators think we are kaput. otherwise they would be here sending more moon sized rocks at us. so we could go on as we are. overcome our beginnings and become better than our intended purpose. in response to zeo1234 you are right i was being a little short sighted. i guess a lot of people would feel trapped now that their freedom has been taken away. I feel that this strikes a parallel with an episode/s of angel. for those of you who like this series and don't want it spoiled, look away. the episodes where glory came to earth and enslaved everyone. although everyone was happy about the situation they didn't have any coice in the matter. they were in effect just happy slaves. i can't remember what the exact jist of the tale was but angel saved the world as usual. then there is another episode/s with that demon that took over fred. that demon is a very similar entity as alkanphel. a ruler that has lost its kingdom. perhaps alkanphel should respect the people in 'his' world and find out what they want and how they feel. of course he'll never do that but i guess that makes him the bad guy, blinded by his vision (no matter how noble it is). And so I definitely support sho. not the guyvers because agito is just as bad as chronos. sho is fighting for freedom. i think that is in the best interests of everyone.
  9. Devil may cry, side scrolling? what do you mean? sorry to knit pick, i know what you mean! That sounds like an ace idea! maybe like castlevania? not the ps2 version that was rubbish but like symphony of the night except 3d! maybe you could have a reserve of bio energy in the place of magic energy and in a save room sho can take the guyver off and have a meal and a rest to recharge his bio energy. then certain special moves can take up so much bio energy like the megasmasher would take loads of it!!! as you go through more fights you become more powerful and can defeat stronger opponents with more ease. so a level system could be used? i reckon it would be good if it was structured like a story like metal gear solid. it would have a winding flowing feel but in an episodic structure. with bosses at various stages but not set into levels. you would have freedom of movement just like mgs.
  10. I work in game and we have had the copies of the game in. i have read the book. it is not wrong. it is backwards and stupid and idiotic and ..... sorry it still winds me up that i cannot play the best pc game to come out for years. but no you read right HALF LIFE 2 WILL ONLY PLAY ON A MACHINE WITH AN INTERNET CONNECTION.
  11. No it is not the whole volume and i put it here because i did it myself and i am no japanese expert. I have a good grounding in japanese and a wide understanding but i may have more than a few things wrong... Translation is from the kadokawa published graphic novels and covers the first meeting between imakarum and the two guyvers. http://www.angelfire.com/bug/tremault/Imakarum.htm
  12. Sorry to pull up this old subject but i did some translation. the bit where sho wakes up and tetsuro is doing some explaining:- That suggests that sho's last remaining consciousness caused them to teleport to mount narisawa. thats the way i read it anyway....
  13. I do remember reading somewhere that only the elite of the genetic pool get chosen for hyper zoanoids. that you have to be physically and mentally 'perfect'. I can't remember where I read that. so i guess the training is to get you physically and mentally perfect even if you have strong genes. There is a lot of mention of 'success rate' of zoanoids throughout the data files so i guess there can be a lot of failures when processing? that would probably be down to genetics once again. as for the process someone mentioned 'mass variations on the genetic level' how would you change the genes? i don't know about genetics but cancer cells are genetically different arent they? cancer cells have something to do with radiation so maybe they use radio waves or xrays or something?

Don't get me started on good and evil or any philosophy! I'll go on forever! However i have to point out to riven, the atrocities that the church have commited throughout history. all organizations have an element of evil as well as an element of good. the mission statement is what really matters. chronos' goal is one that benefits the human race. it has stopped wars among ourselves and brought us together to become a formidable force. if we were attacked, then with chronos at the helm we would be more powerful than without. its all a matter of perspective. yes chronos did some terrible things to sho but then think about the consequences of the guyver staying free. i think agito is testament to the threat of the guyver to chronos and the unity of the human race. its all very similar(and im sorry to mention this) to the current world situation with terrorists causing chaos. while guyver may seem to be the saviour of the humans to some people, the majority have clearly welcomed chronos and the guyvers are nothing more than terrorists. I'm sorry to go on but i did warn you i'm going to shut up now before i talk your eyes out.
  15. Please anyone who reads this, go here and sign this petition! If there is anyone here who, like me, doesn't have an internet connection and relies on other means to use this board, then this is bad news indeed. Half life 2 will be unable to play on machines that do not connect to the internet. that puts me, my family and all my friends out of the picture. in a feat of stupidity they have made it so that you have to register on the net any time you want to play. here is the website of the petition. http://www.petitiononline.com/HL2/ please go here and save the lives of many strapped for cash-gamers!
  16. Do you remember the days of yore when gaming was magical? the days of the snes i mean. you'd buy a new game and you'd put it on and go over all misty eyed as the wonderful characters, simple but beutiful 2d animation, and heavenly music carried you away... This is what happened when i played this game in work today!(its not out til friday) It is the best zelda game since zelda 3!! none of this 3d rubbish just old fashioned pure undiluted gaming!! And the sound effects! And the music! and the characters! Oh how i miss the snes! Sorry i am getting carried away. but trust me this is one game that no gameboy owner should miss!! As soon as any of you get to play it let me know what you think!
  17. is there any chance that he could have been adjusted by the scientist that is now with agito? if that is the case there could be a possibility that he may have a battle form similar to grizelda or libertus. the scientist does seem to have experience in creating zoalord if he can make grizelda without a real zoacrystal... (unless someone knows something about that 'zoacrystal')
  18. I don't think yoshiki would be so shallow to base his most powerful characters on something so basic as the elements. yes it is true that gyuo was gravity based but the same could be said of paul kushtar i mean gravity or pressure has a very strong influence over the weather. perhaps the zoalords are all just using variations on creator tech. i mean there is gravity. look at the guyver he has a gravity globe at his waist. then there is the dimensional aspect of the guyver, how he uses dimensional energy. these are all creator tech. waferdanos is not human so his powers are strongly influenced by the creature that he has come from. he used to be spread out across an island so his power helps him to spread his body out. namely his hair. the remaining zoalords will probably use other aspects of creator tech which we can see hints of by looking at guyver. maybe one will be made with swords? maybe one will be with powerful lasers. maybe one will be smashing power using matter converters to produce momentum. who knows? whatever they are they will be awesome!
  19. Is there anybody who could scan the pages with guyver 1 data on them and send them to me. I am hoping to make an attempt at translating this so we can have more detailed info on the anatomy of guyver! Some people have already done some translation which we are extremely grateful for but its always nice to have more points of reference! Thanks in advance for whoever can help!

I do agree that in a fan work you can do anything you want and done in the right way it can be very effective. but that type of thing would only hold up in the fan work. if you consider people in general that type of thing would just clash completely. the general public isn't so accepting as you or i. the film you are describing sounds like heaven to anybody who loves the manga , anime and the film. if somebody doesn't like the film, however( i personally don't like shaun) then they are gonna feel cheated. to make a film commercially effective you gotta keep the concept simple. especially in an action film! Oh and you were asking what tother things were different, the spike on his head moves, the zoanoids are comedic and mostly human shape and size, a zoalord is the size of a house, they use robots to make zoanoids, the bio booster creaturee is not self supportive, there is more but it would take a long time. don't get me wrong im not knocking your ideas, they are good ideas. i just don't feel they would work well in a film and if you can't convince me, good luck with a publisher!

you can't have sho and sean in the same film. it just doesn't make sense. sean would have heard of sho or sensed him at least and vice versa. the film and the manga and the anime are separate. they are in different worlds. i mean even some of the concepts are different. like how the guyver makes you shorter in the films . sorry i just had to put that in there!. but just look at the guyver in the films. he has extra orbs and stuff. it just wouldn't make any sense at all. Anyway i promised to put up my script and here it is. it is extremely patchy and needs a lot of work but seeing as we are on the subject i guess you guys can see it now. you may need to copy and paste the address into a new browser... http://www.angelfire.com/bug/tremault/guyver_script.htm
  23. It does say 'multiply cells'...... Not that i m trying to be awkward or anyhting, but that implies the cell splitting to make more of them.... not an increase in power per cell. in my calcs with body mass this is apparent. however it doesn't make any reference to metabolism or anything. so i am agreeing with you but also going a step further and agreeing with zeo as well. in a sense you are both right.

A sequel to the existing guyver movies is not a good idea. lets face it they are hardly the best films ever made even if the subject matter rocks. also there are gonna be a lot of people who won't have a clue what is going on. lets tell them to watch the other two films? no. i don't think so. better to buy the rights completely and make a film from scratch. It would have to be an adaptation though. you cant fit the books in as they currently stand. the script would be more episodic than film like. like the anime. i have outlined a brief plot of what i would make for a guyver film. i will post it up tomorrow.
  25. yeah but that costs. Zues thunderbolt, do you have OCR on your scanner? if so i would be very pleased to read a translation of those books! if it is time consuming to put it through the translation engine, then i'll give you a hand if you like! (or if you don't have OCR then send me the scanned pics and i'll put them through my character recognition program.) perhaps if anyone else has the time they could help too!
