I'm really looking forward to this. I think the change in style will be really interesting. whenever I see this it makes me think of Takeshi Hongo. Tales, may I suggest you take this with a fresh perspective? I just wouldn't want any pessimism spoiling other people's enjoyment. sometimes when a person slates something so much, it makes the people who read it feel bad. I don't want anyone to feel bad so please just give it a chance to shine on it's own merits.

I answered my question myself. all the series after kuuga are "masked rider" until W comes along. I don't know if kuuga is masked rider because it doesn't specify in the title card. if somebody has seen kuuga they can perhaps enlighten me as to if there are any pointers in the show that suggest that it is meant to be masked rider or if it is certainly kamen rider. since all the shows past kuuga are named "masked rider" I believe that the creators are not trying to make proper kamen rider, they are doing something different yet similar in some ways. yet they know that it is not totally following the formula of kamen rider so they call it "masked rider" on the title card.

well the name could symbolise a change in attitude of the creators. do you know what i'm getting at?

yeah, that's what i'm getting at. they put it on the title card. so the japanese want it to be masked rider. I don't care about saban. but the point is, the japanese called these ones masked rider. did they call the other ones kamen rider? is there some correlation between the names and the shows and if they fit your idea of kamen rider.

I'm wondering if you think... is the original series constantly called kamen rider? or is it masked rider? some recent series are called masked rider. is there a difference? do you think that masked rider could be different from kamen rider in style.

well the pages still exist separately. you could always remove those sections from the navbar, or you could put lots of noinclude tags to condense the page if it is linked. so the user gets more info if they full view the page. or just leave them separate. it gives some options anyway.

I've done the [wiki]Masked Rider Kiva[/wiki] page. among other things. please have a look at what i did there. also take note of the <noinclude> tag around the navboxes. this allows us to split up large pages and yet display it all as one page.

ha ha, I can't watch it but it sounds funny! about the long page... you can use templates to include sections within the page without the page itself being too long. there could be another way of doing that without actually using templates. I might do some research on that. edit: ok, it's called transclusion. it's the same as using a template but if you don't want to have the content in a template, you put a colon in front of the name. for example {{:v3_characters}}

I don't thik i have read anything about blade that is a big spoiler. usually when i see something about blade i am very careful and sometimes skip it. the things you need to be careful about, and should NEVER be left without a spoiler tag because they will RUIN the series for someone who hasn't seen it :- 555 - kabuto - ryuki -

I just hope nobody noticed. i put the tag on there for you. even though this topic is expected to have some spoilers... major spoilors should still be covered. for example, I have seen many heisei rider series, but i have not seen blade and i intend to watch it.

ah, I'm really happy I don't know much about V3, I'd be curious to see something about that. well I don't know much about any of the showa riders really. I'll make a point of reading whatever you do next. I can learn something about them and this time since i don't know about it, I might remain interested and end up doing some editing to help out.

that's what i meant though, it's not like other spoilers. it's more to do with the character development. it's hard to explain, it's not anything like a cool thing like a amazing rider move or something like that. it's nothing like any of the spoilers on any other show and i wouldn't say this if it wasn't important. I mean, hurricangers is my favourite super sentai and i would not have told you not to read the page for that, there are spoilers but i think that is not anything major. but this one, I would say please not to read about it. i can't force you obviously but i really love this show so much, and I really want you to enjoy it fully. let me give an example. I assume you've seen fight club, but i will put a spoiler tag over it anyway. well i won't say anymore about it, If I can't persuade you now, I should respect your choice.

it's not the same as any spoiler for kabuto or other series. the story in this is very good and lots of potential for it to be ruined. sorry to be a pain

ah! ha ha , phew that's a relief. I really look forward to your thoughts on Ryuki. I am about halfway through watching it again. (actually just about to put on episode 26)

it was a good question though.. as to what we like about kamen rider? as you all know, I love Ryuki. The thing i love about ryuki that i also love about any tokusatsu is teh strength of the characters. the will to continue. when they get knoced down, they get back up again and persevere. the riders that i like generally have a positive atmosphere and a positive attitude. I loved DEN-O for that reason. it was a very upbeat and positive series. It made me feel good to watch. so perhaps when somebody like me comes along... perhaps I have no right to dictate what kamen rider is about? because i can watch other shows to get what i enjoy. I get teh same feeling from tomica hero rescue fire. and from shinkenger. and from keitai sousakan 7. and other shows. so if it ever came to a point of kamen rider changing to be mmore like the earlier series', perhaps i may not like it. but then that would mean that I am not really a kamen rider fan. I would not mind if these shows were called metal hero .

Bumping topics is not a crime here. to be honest I think it makes a lot more sense than starting a new topic and losing all the interesting discussion that has gone before.

555 is very good, but quite dark. it can be very depressing with themes of death and also suicide and also great emotional suffering. but from what i remember it was very exciting and the suits and abilities and teh style is exceptionally cool. ryuki is by far teh most powerful character driven masked rider series in the heisei era. I don't know if it won awards but it certainly deserves many awards. it has a lot of comedy and also a lot of positive themes.

I watched a bit of the video, but as many know by now at the moment I am limited bandwidth. I find it interesting you say about teh CGI. I think that in many ways that is true... but let me tell you my own situation. I personally do not feel like i want to watch the old series'. now, I am sure the story is much better... but that's not the reason. also, the special effects.. while i am quite fond of CGI, I don't think bad special effects is a reason not to watch a good story. what's important to me is the atmosphere of something. after watching the movie "the second" I got a bad feeling about these style of show. I do not know if the atmosphere of the show will be the same, but i got very depressed by it. it's more to do with the filters used on the camera along with hte choice of music. I am also the same with any genre of tv or movies. I dislike old movies and I dislike old tv. It has taken me a long long time to watch star trek the original series. even now I am watching it but not all episodes. I checked online for the best rated episodes and skip all hte others. I wonder if you can relate to this viewpoint? I'd like to finishe watching your video next week. I was enjoying it up to the point i turned it off. P.S. That's my favourite thing about this place. Flaming etc. is forbidden. so many other places have such hostile people. everyone here is mostly nice
