H222G981 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Well. I loved Smallville. I loved the new Man of Steel movie and now I'm super excited about this. Here she is everyone. Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2987437/Supergirl-Melissa-Benoist-swaps-suit-normal-clothes-set-new-CBS-show.html Melissa Benoist will play Supergirl in the upcoming series with the same name. The pilot will start shooting this week. Other names attached to the project are Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) as Cat Grant and Dean Cain (Superman from Lois and Clark series) in an unknown role. While the show is being produced by the same man that is producing Arrow and Flash, it is unknown if it will be in the same universe as them. So, what do you think about her costume? Do you think that CBS will greenlight the show for a full run or will it go the way of the Wonder Woman pilot? 1 Quote
durendal Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I have to question the casting of Calista Flockhart to the role of Cat Grant. Cat Grant is supposed to be a voluptuous woman who will use her sex appeal to get what she wants. Something I can't picture Calista Flockhart doing. Or perhaps the image of Ally Mcbeal is stuck in my head for some reason, just like that Dancing Baby (viewers of Ally Mcbeal would know this). Hmm.... implants? Quote

Cat was never voluptuous, I don't think. I mean, to me, the word 'voluptuous' suggests someone like Mae West, but Cat was always more lean. Quote

By voluptuous, I mean heavy on the front, just like that pic you showed. Calista Flockhart is a little, for lack of a better term, flat chested. It would be very difficult for her to flaunt her assets unless she gets an upgrade. Quote
Salkafar Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) Perhaps that is not the aspect of her 'personality' they will focus on. In the new 52, Cat is not only a minx, but also an enterprising journalist. Kara works as as assistant to Grant, a self-made media magnate and founder of CatCo who started her career as a reporter and has built her company into a global powerhouse. http://deadline.com/2015/02/calista-flockhart-cast-supergirl-pilot-cat-grant-1201379787/ Edited March 15, 2015 by Salkafar Quote
H222G981 Posted March 28, 2015 Author Posted March 28, 2015 I think it would have been cool had they asked Laura Vandervoort from Smallville to reprise her role as Kara Zor-El Quote
Salkafar Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 But that would suggest this is the same continuity. It seems more likely they'd want to tie it to Arrow and The Flash. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 wow!! That was incredible!! I love that so much!! I'm definitely gonna watch that when it comes out!!! I wasn't impressed when i first saw it because I assumed it would be catering mainly to guys, but it so isn't. it's like ugly betty mixed with one tree hill, mixed with ... so many series i really enjoy. It's definitely girl power! I CAN'T WAIT!! 1 Quote
durendal Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 So I heard that this will lean more towards the romcom genre.... 1 Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Haha... Wow. So bad. Granted, I am NOT the targeted audiencefor these shows, but man... Awful. Way to run decent characters into the ground DC! They need to give all of DC's licenses to Bruce Timm. Movie and TV. He knew what t do with their characters. Quote
