Enzyme-eternal Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Is it just me or is Mizuki getting prettier? I'm really enjoying the intrigue of this chapter plus it makes Arky more of a character having him interact with the rest of the cast at least on some level. He's never really been a villain, not like Guyot (whom I still consider the real main villain of the series), so I'm pretty hyped for a Sho/Arky confrontation. I wonder where this is all going? 2 Quote

I wonder where this is all going? well, if you ask me. I think she's hot for an anime girl. I honestly wish there was more of her in the manga. It seems her appearances are getting more scarce. Its kind of sad really. I really like her. Quote
Enzyme-eternal Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 It's because of the larger story and cast. In the early chapters she was much more prominent. Teehee she is hot, isn't she. Mizuki was one of my first anime crushes. I guess that makes her my first waifu. Quote
Salkafar Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Mizuki is getting older, ie growing up, ie filling out. She's going from nervous teenager to woman of the world. Like a Pokémon. 1 Quote
H222G981 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I'm just wondering. Will we ever see more of her and Sho like we did at the beginning?....or are those times long behind us now? Maybe see where they land at the end of the manga maybe? At this point, every time when I see pictures of Mizuki... it is kind of just nostalgic.I'm just really hoping to see more of her and Sho. I've always been a huge fan of their relationship. Quote
Salkafar Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 They'll never go back to what they were. I mean, just think back to how you were when you were a teenager... unless you still are a teenager, of course... and compare to how you are now. Now imagine what it would be like if you went from perfectly normal middle-class life (and what society has more normal middle-class life than Japan) to a state of constant global war against shapeshifting super-warriors. It's a miracle they didn't just go insane. 1 Quote
Enzyme-eternal Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Well they do both have stuff to do. Seriously though, I can't see them going back to the way they where in the beginning since a lot has happened and their relationship has evolved from the awkward high school crush it was. I obviously can't speak from experience but their relationship has turned physical and that changes things...I imagine. Though I would like to see them back together for a bit, just cause I think they both need a break from the madness of what's been going on lately. Quote

I agree, I think it'd be great to see Sho and Mizuki unwind. I mean, Sho has been going at it hard against Cronos and other enemies for a while now. I mean, its great that they're in a strong relationship and she's supporting him as his girl friend. I am hoping to see more dialogue between Sho and Mizuki at the very least and seeing that would be really good. 1 Quote
Salkafar Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 The translation is up... They don't know who he is...!! Man, Mizuki's face when she finds out... And they can't even understand what he is saying. Making me wonder whether Archanfel even speaks Japanese. I wonder what language he does speak by default. Portuguese, learned from Barkas? If Barkas even is Portuguese? But he's been in telepathic contact with Imakarum for so long... And they call him 'Al' , I guess. But of course Japanese has no separate letter for 'L'... this is a bit of a throwback to the whole Alchanfel / Archanfel thing. 1 Quote
TricoBren Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Yeah it's a pretty intruiging chapter right? I too wondered what language Archanfel uses for everyday speech after reading this. I really have no basis for thinking this but, I still have a strong hunch that Archanfel and Apollyon are the same person... Quote
river_chaos Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 That really doesn't make much sense since we've seen him communicate in Japanese before. Why switch languages now? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 we've seen him talk, and that was rendered in Japanese since the manga is in Japanese. in fact it does seem highly likely that Archanfel and all the zoalords speak whatever language Barcas was most comfortable with. it's what Barcas would have been using when first trying to communicate with Archanfel and so it would follow on. just checking on the person Barcas was likely based on, Hamilcar Barca, he was a Phoenician general. now of course Barcas did not seem to be a general he looked more like an explorer but it's very possible that he came from the same place. the language was Phoenician and very similar to Hebrew. 1 Quote
lost unit Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Many thanks to Melvin Junko for the translation and Cannibal for the raws. 3 Quote
H222G981 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I imagine the creators, when they made Arky and humans. They made him capable of speaking any and all languages. Perhaps all the languages spoken by humanoids was passed down by the creators. Thats the only thing that makes sense to me. Quote
Salkafar Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Barkas was Carthaginian, but yeah, they were Phoenicians, originally... However, Hamilcar Barcas lived in the third century BC. The name Barca is uncommon, but not unknown; however it is not tied to a particular nationality. I always assumed he was Portuguese because of the way he dressed and the time he lived in (circa 1600). *** It occurs to me that there are not even that many people who know what Archanfel's human form looks like - the Zoalords and Aptom and that's it. And Aptom might not even realize it. 2 Quote

Salkafar Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) They don't know who he is. They think Apollon dumped him on the island, like they were. I guess they don't question the eyes and ears... Is there some sort of cultural reference with cats and the name 'Al' I am not getting? Edited March 3, 2015 by Salkafar Quote
*guyverfan Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 actually, i didn't even think that archanfel actually could speak any type of modern day language, or any language at all. that he's able to use telepathy to communicate his thoughts and those receiving it interpret those thoughts themselves into their own language. when the creators had told him he would command their soldiers of neanderthal zoaniods, what language did they have to speak? when barcas first stumbled upon him and awoke archanfel, no doubt he may of learnt barcas's native language as archanfel would of been curious of how the world and people have evolved over the time he's been asleep. guessing that barcas had spent a long time on the island learning from archanfel and vice versa. to my understanding, even the 12 commanders have only seen archanfel a handfull of times, so he very rarely leaves the island where he would need interaction with different species to learn their language. now, being a supreme being and all, i'm not saying that he doesn't have the power to just dive into someone's mind telepathically and learn their language and all that they know in an instant. but, if he does, then pfft, actually physically speaking vocally would be quite troublsome and trivual, it would be something you wouldn't make an effort to do, wouldn't it? durendal Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Here's an idea which i think would be unlikely. Perhaps "Al" was a residue of Alchanfel transforming into Apollon. Maybe he split himself up into 2 separate being to be able to achieve his goals. I mean, why would Apollon have abilities that far surpass the other Zoalords, in which only Alchanfel is capable of? Or maybe Apollon is being controlled by Alchanfel, that leaves him into an innocent state when he goes out hunting. I'm starting to doubt that Apollon is Imakarum. Imakarum had a difficult time with Gigantic Dark, whereas Apollon was able to easily dispatch of Gigantic Exceed. Although they weren't seriously fighting, Apollon seems to evade Exceed rather easily. Quote
*guyverfan Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 well, i have a feeling that we're going to find out in the next couple of chapters 1 Quote
H222G981 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Anyone think that Arky could take on a Gigantic Exceed like Apollon? Quote
Salkafar Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Well, the Exceed was created in response to Archanfel... but I don't know if that means they are equal in power. 2 Quote
