 Makes you wonder how close Lisker and Val became.  I mean did they become the best of siblings or perhaps something more?

 

I'm going with best of siblings.  I don't think Takaya would go into that territory.

Hello everyone, just joined up and it's very exciting to be finally caught up on Guyver. But now I have to deal with the waits between chapters.. I like seeing backstory other than the origin of life and the Advents' story (not to say that that isn't a large and interesting concept that can be revisited a number of times in this manga--as it has been). Greenwich, CT seems a plausible location for that house, but since the translation says "outskirts of New York", I'm thinking that it's more likely to be somewhere on Long Island in actual New York State, for example in the Hamptons or one of the other very wealthy areas on Long Island. Reminds me of the Great Gatsby, which is also set on Long Island, in fictional "West Egg." There are probably a lot of large, nice houses like that north of New York City, too. Westchester County for example, was chosen to be the home of Professor X's mansion in the X-Men, another large East Coast style house that could easily be next door (as "next door" as such large properties can be) to the house seen in the newest Guyver chapter.

New York has plenty of suburbs. It's why New Yorks Cities elected Albony hall gets so much criticism, it's because they are making the major decisions involving New York traffic and transportation laws....but most of them don't live near or in the cities. XD

Anyways, back on topic, very awesome. Also, I don't think this is the first one featuring monsters, unless you count the flashbacks "thinking" about the monsters that were already killed.

Edit: Come to think of it, our dear mangaka was slated to work on Romance and Hentai comics after Guyver once the series was supposedto be over. of course that was over 20 years ago.

Just because Lisker was kind of a jackass to people he didn't know - people who were on the opposing side of an as-yet-undeclared war, I might remind you - does not mean that he couldn't be nice to someone he'd known since he was a young teenager. People can be perfectly nice to members of their own family and other people they know personally, while at the same time not giving a crap, or being actively hostile, to people outside of those circles.

family is family. it's normal to be an ass to everyone but your family. 

Hell, the Zoalords have shown plenty of contempt for humans and everything else, but most of them have at least one redeeming quality. Even Guyot shows respect and concern for the loss of some of his men (he cryed out Panodyne name as the latter died trying to protect him!) though deep down he doesn't care for them at least he shows he values them unlike Kahn. Barcus has been one of the biggest monsters in the series towards humans, but a true friend and devoted follower to his own Zoalords.

I'm curious as to what brought Val's mom to Lisker's dad's place in the first place.  Mistress? Second marriage?

That might be because Guyot was the youngest of the Zoalords at the time and hadn't been as heard hearted at the rest of the Council yet.

On the whole keep it in the family thing with Cronos and their hidden normal ''humanity '' i have wondered for a time about this... actually.. forget it.  it'll take too long to type. i'll mention it another time in a new topic!!

its a second marriage, seemingly enforced by Cronos.

 

 

So who else here thinks that Val originally came to Japan to get revenge against Sho?

 

 

i think it will be that or looking at the last page something changed the whole cutesy relationship.... so i think its that she went after Sho for killing Oswald or maybe Cronos itself for ruining their relationship in the first place.

 

this chapter was cool but also frustrating!
