Weeeeell I was just surfing the web as always and was curious on the status of the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie and came upon with some cool and unexpected news so I decided to open a new thread to discuss this movie since as you guys know I'm a fan of spidey and will jump at the chance to discuss anything related to him so here it goes:

 

Things known about this sequel:

 

 

-All previous actors from the first movie will return to reprise their roles minus the guys who play the Lizard and Captain Stacy.

 

-Peter Parker will find new clues about his past so it looks like they have not dropped the parents side story yet.

 

-Harry Osborn will be featured in this movie played by Dane Dehaan, the guy who plays Andrew in the movie Chronicle.

 

-Mary Jane will be played by Shailene Woodley, don't know about her so I can't comment if she was the right choice.

 

-The villains of the movie will be The Rhino and Electro and they will be played by Paul Giamatti and Jamie Foxx respectively, interesting choices I must say.

 

-Felicity Jones and Colm Feore are also comfirmed to be in the film but it has not been revealed yet on what roles the will take, It is rumored that Jones will play Black Cat in the movie, as for Colm Feore it is rumored that he may be playing as Norman Osborn.

 

-J.K. Simmons has mentioned that he would gladly reprise his role of J.Jonah Jameson if given the chance. (yes please)

 

-The film will be completely filmed in New York this time instead of digitally, a first for any spidey film.

 

 

 

that is all that i have uncovered so far, you guys can start discussing if you want, here is a photo comparison of the new costume that spider-man will wear in the movie with the old one, it looks basically like the raimi costume only with better eyes and a different spider which i have no problem at all (although people are already complaining about it looking like the raimi costume, damn if you do and damn if you don't ) don't fix what ain't broken and the spider-man costume is way too Iconic to change.

I think the perfect Spider-Man film would be like the 1990 TMNT film. Grimey and dark, to get that real NY feel.

Why grim and dark? the 1990 TMNT was light heart and fun, it had it's serious moments but nothing really grim and dark.

The way it was filmed I mean.

I watched the first one and I found it to be quite dull.

But this new costume has piqued my interest. I don't know why some people say it looks similar though. it looks completely different!

this is like steve ditco vs mark bagley.

 

rhino and electro? interesting, reminds me of a few issues I saw around the time of the clone saga.

Perhaps they'll lead into something interesting... like maybe an inclusion of the scarlet spider and other dudes like that.

They announced that Chris Cooper (our is it Kris?) Will play Norman Osborn.

I like the new suit design though I also like the previous one from the first movie last year.

Its interesting to see how they tried to make the suit more realistic in the first movie. But I really think I prefer this look more. The eyes are just iconic for Spiderman I think.

 

Rhino and Electro haven't been in a live action movie yet so this should be interesting. I really liked how they did the Lizard in the last one. Wasnt Rhino featured in one of the tie-in Video Games?

I love the eyes, but I think I like the last suit more.  It made him look more spindly and spider like.  This kind of suit makes him look a little fat by comparison.  Oh well

They really needed to get a contortionist to play spiderman.

lazy directors will do casting just with trained actors because they don't think they could direct a non-actor.

if they did cast with non-actors they have more potential to get somebody who looks the part physically, and can move like spiderman does.

Yeah, the amazing Spiderman movie tie in game featured characters like rhino vermin and scorpion. All were animals with human DNA. No real intelligence just animal instinct. And i remember they had a pic of electro... Did i post that?

Why not do what Tim Burton did in the first Batman movie, and get several actors to play the same character?  Or just get a more similar costume from Amazing Spiderman that actually makes him look spindly

Ok so i don't know what to think about this... I know its pre CGI, and i don't know much about the apparatus people wear for pre CGI scenes. So...here's a shot of pre CGI rhino, which I'm excited about.

It looks like a giant tech suit, which I'm cool with, but I'm hoping they'll make it more rhinoesque when they make it fancy.

I can't imagine that any of the elements in that shot will remain apart from the background of course.

the grey rig we can see is mainly for the actors' benefit. it's to help them react appropriately and to help their imagination.

What it does show us though, is the size the rhino will be. that's pretty huge!

I wonder if its going to be the size of Ultimate Rhino in the Ultimate Spider-Man game.

Ah, thanks Ryuki! Well i was excited, i was thinking they were going for the tech suit approach but now i don't know.

It looks like the Styrofoam is shaped like a tech suit, with cross hairs for the cg artists to match up to when they replace it with the proper visual.  I mean, why else would he not be wearing a skin suit with capture balls?

I am looking forward to this sequel. Lizard was always my favorite spiderman villain I really liked how they did him except for his face. I wish they had gone with a design of a certain model kit of him. I tried to find it but couldn't find it on google. It basically was a dark green color with fins on his forearms and a massive fin running down his spine with a pretty cool head. But you get what you get. I've been waiting for him and scorpion come on we all know he's gonna kick butt!
