odin Posted May 24, 2013 Author Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) oh yeah I know who he is, he has been on a break for some time cause of personal stuff so I dare not ask him/her to make music for us yet. Edited May 24, 2013 by odin Quote
J-brah Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Made an account just to post in this thread to encourage you guys to keep it up. I really believe Kickstarter, indiegogo (crowd sourcing) is the best way to ensure that projects like these get made. I am also wondering if a kickstarter is the thing we need to get a new season of the guyver anime or Vis to do English releases of the Manga. Love the work boys, keep it up Quote
odin Posted May 26, 2013 Author Posted May 26, 2013 Thank you for the support, I don't feel comfortable doing anything kickstarter related at the moment, I would prefer to wait for a complete demo to be done before doing anything like that. Once the demo is done and if everybody agrees THEN I may consider doing a kickstarter but as of now I see it as unnecessary since at the moment (until the people that have offered to help respond) aside form ryuki, I am the only one who has been working with this project and I have already bought all the necessary programs that I need to do this. Speaking of which I have a small announcement, as of tomorrow I will be updating this thread every other day with content related to the game, tomorrow it is sprite related content such as the sprite stance of Aptom as well as some other common Zoanoids that will appear in the game. I may not update consistently as I should since I am currently dealing with me moving to the states soon but once I have moved I will maintain that schedule of updates, I'm very exited to get this done. *Jess♥ Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 good luck with your move!! i'm looking forward to seeing the updates. so gregole will be soon? heh hehe that should be good. Quote
J-brah Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 It's a big project sir but it sounds awesome. Good luck! The Guyver is the perfect protagonist for any kind of video game. The franchise is so under-utilised Quote
odin Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 good luck with your move!! i'm looking forward to seeing the updates. so gregole will be soon? heh hehe that should be good. I was not planning on doing Gregole at the moment but heck why not? here is a sample of him with Guyver 1 side by side, I just did it right now so it is bound to change, I don't feel 100% comfortable with the result, thoughts? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 looks amazing! you just did it now, it is so impressive. i think you must be getting very proficient at spriting. I can't really criticise him as he is right now. i think that sprite would look great in the game. Quote
Bio-Boosted Dude Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I would think maybe he's a bit short? But perhaps having him too tall wouldn't work from a gameplay perspective.<br />Anyway, you really are getting good dude! Quote
odin Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 He is more or less the same length as Guyver 3 so I did it like that, plus his legs are not straight so he is a bit taller, thanks for the feedback cause it means a lot, I will try to upload more stuff tomorrow if I can, aptom Is looking awesome. Quote
odin Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) which version of aptom? XD His final form so far, Omega Blast. Here is a comparison of all three playable characters, do you guys like? EDIT: made a mistake with Aptom's Head, fixed it just now. Edited May 31, 2013 by odin Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Nice work, Odin. I really like the coloring. Quote
Guyver0 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Very awesome work Odin, the colors look right. Now this could just be me and the size of my screen but the shadowing on Aptom looks a lot heavier than it does on Guyvers 1 and 3. Quote
odin Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 Thanks for the support guys, that is what keeps me going on this project. I'm currently studying some new techniques for spriting that may help me improve and speed up my pace so look forward for new sprites tomorrow or the day after, I'll take any request at the moment, is there any character that you guys want me to do? I also would like to request anybody who knows japan a lot to send me pictures that I can use to make the stages for the game? I would really appreciate it if you can provide me with pictures of scenery of Narisawa, specifically places that may look like they may be from the series? I am already getting what I can from the visual data files but if anybody can provide me with more scenery from the series that I can use I would appreciate it. Furthermore, i will be uploading a new demos soon and update the first page with a info of the games status, btw, can I add info of the game and stuff on the sites wiki page? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I've struggled to find narisawa. I found a suburb of tokyo with a reference to narusawa but I don't feel it is the right environment. too urban for what we have seen. there was a place further north but it is very far and the lake is way too big although there were some similarities in other ways, can't recall now. just found another place, can't imagine why it never came up before. it's an actual village named narusawa. north of mt fuji. right locale, not too urban. there are appropriately sized lakes nearby too. but it's quite far from tokyo. can't imagine mizuki travelling to look at her parents house... unless their parents moved to the capital? https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=%E3%81%AA%E3%82%8A%E3%81%95%E3%82%8F&ie=UTF8&ll=35.480802,138.699303&spn=0.064441,0.138531&client=firefox-a&nfpr=1&hq=%E3%81%AA%E3%82%8A%E3%81%95%E3%82%8F&radius=15000&t=h&z=13 Anyway Odin, you should check out Lycanthrope Bata's deviant art page. He takes photos of most of the places he visits and He has photographed some locales from guyver. He took some photos around yokohama and he did look around for odagiri villa at some point. he told me he might even be visiting takeshiro village and mount minakami this summer. http://lycanthrope-bata.deviantart.com Furthermore, i will be uploading a new demos soon and update the first page with a info of the games status, btw, can I add info of the game and stuff on the sites wiki page? I think that would be pretty neat. Quote
odin Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 Thanks a bunch Ryuki, I really appreciate the help, I will see what I can do with what you have given me. working on sound effects for the game, found a nifty freeware program that allows me to create sound effects for old school games if anybody wants to try out and help with that here is the program free to use: http://www.bfxr.net/ Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 This looks like it's shaping up to be a good game; I look forward to seeing more as it comes out, Odin. Quote
*guyverfan Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 , I'll take any request at the moment, is there any character that you guys want me to do? you've got a great talent odin and love how far this has come, looks awesome. love to see guyot or murikami in zoalord form. Quote
*V Guyver Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Stages reference material. I might make more. i think though the only one youm ight really like is the interior of the Agito mansion. http://www.mediafire.com/download/0qxrq7udj4i4cvb/bg_stage_references.zip Also bonus, zombie Agito. Quote
*V Guyver Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 just spent an hour on that Bfxr program attempting to make some sound effects. Was pretty satisfied and made about 15. Unfortunately, exporting to WAV crashed the program. lost all that effort. Will try again later, but what a waste of time it became. Hope you are at least finding some use of reference material. odin Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 I did, very useful stuff man, thanks a bunch, I wont be updating nothing at the moment cause I'm busy with a party that I'm arranging tomorrow that I want to do before i leave my home country. Again thanks a bunch. Quote
*V Guyver Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I thought I lost everything when that program crashed, but is seems it saved the file list. I just had to export the files one at a time or it would crash. I have about 28 files for you to try out and see if it's any use for you.http://www.mediafire.com/download/uume143h0gffj0y/Sound_Test.zipEdit: For added humor"Alpha, bring us Zoanoids... with Attitude!"
