No doubt eventually there will be a proper translated version of the japanese book 5 ( proper names, non-flipped and no McGyver references... lol), but hopfully these will do for now.

But Ryuki and I were getting a little sick of people not being able to find the early books, and not reading any farther in this glorious manga series that we do love so much.

yeah those scans are from the japanese, found online, can't remember who found them, it's in a thread around here somewhere. when viz is uploaded, it will replace those nice scans. would have been nice to have those with english but we are desperate atm.

I still have them on my computer so if anyone wants to typeset them, I can provide.

I actually have good quality scans for volume 2 up to volume 10. want to replace what we have at some point.

we don't know who kazuto is. Aether got me those scans. Kazuto is just some cool guy who worked with some other cool people to do volume 4.

I'd try contact him and gain his/her permision to host the works but no idea on how to do that.

yes, the mcgyver t-shirt was takayas work. it's not been put in by viz. and it seems viz reversed that and the 'bent' on shou's shirt. nicely done, I had never noticed before!

Ohhhhh, volume 5!!! So cool! another step closer to getting all volumes up to date! Thank you, Matt for scanning this, and you guys for hosting it! *grins* Higer quality scans of some of ur early work would be great! I know, in a case like this, you want things to be as perfect as possible. Keep up the great work!

Ryuki, I've been using your dialogue from volume 8 and re-typing it on a rawscan I downloaded (changing the dialogue slightly in places, ie. where in the japanese it has !? i try to reword it). I wouldn't mind trying to redo that volume for you, if you provide the good quality scans for it. In the very least, I could do a few pages to show you and see if it's alright. Let me know, I'd love to help out

the scans I have for volume 8 are incredible quality.

they are large and very clean. ironically, the scanlations we currently have uploaded for volume 8 are terrible quality.

I'd like to see what you can do. I'd also like to do a very good quality for volume 8, perhaps better than what we normally do. perhaps a width of 1000 instead of the normal 800.

I'll prepare some pages for you (right size, levels, name, etc. ) and send them to you in a PM.

wow! that is pretty weird! maybe because it's one of the earliest pages to have a good amount of dialogue?

looks good! shall I send the whole volume to you?

got to piece together the double pages and fix the colour levels etc.

it's a shame the translation is not too good. if I had time, I'd re-translate it for you before you put any words down.

for example, kurumegnik in that panel, says "what is it" rather than "what do you mean" he's referring to shin's surprised expression in the previous panel.

It's cool that scans of VIZ books finally started to come up. And it took only 10-15 years

BTW, now there's scans of VIZ singles on the net, too. Not sure which one's of better quality, but Mizuki's nakedness censored in singles.

yeah, I will get to work on translating chapter 44 soon.

I had been concentrating on finishing my aptom picture, really needed to get it done.

now I have that done and out of the way, I am able to do some other things like translating guyver and editing more naruto kai.

and in time I may continue by working on translating other chapters that we currently have Viz versions of.

I typesetted the chapter myself, along with most of the chapters of Volume #4 on the MangaFox Web site. As Viz Comics had already translated the first seven volumes of this manga, their English translation scripts were used for the scanlations. Although that it would have made more sense to scan the chapters directly from the graphic novels, I did not wish to damage my comic collection.
