*Steel Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I know quite a number of people who aparently dont have, or cant remember having dreams. Personaly I dream every night, but forget most of them through out the day unless they are especialy vivid or distinctive. For me the theme is usualy based on something that has passed through my mind during the day, but I've not spent too much time thinking about. The most common elemelts used to be the building of my old bording school. That and a strange lack of people. I almost always feel like there is only small population. I guess it feels sort of like a film where you are only concentraited on a few characters and not much outside their world seems to exist. There have been a few times that I have become aware that I was dreaming and was able to control things, and keep on dreaming. Although its more common that I just wake up as soon as I know I'm dreaming. I rarly seem to have a negative dream or a nightmare. Which is odd, I would have thought I would have more due to stress and various other things. I dont remember ever having the "Naked at work/school" dream. Although I did have the falling one once or twice in my early teens. Do you guys remember your dreams? Quote
durendal Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Could the "Naked at work/school" dream possibly be wet dreams? Every male that goes through puberty has them. Or is it the embarassing sort of dream? Which I doubt many people would have. I think most people would only remember bits and peices of their dreams. But the question I liked to ask is if anybody tries to interpret their dreams. I've known a few people who has had their dream come to reality. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 the naked at school dream is a dream about humiliation. humiliation from being found out. dishonest people may get that dream a lot. yes there are those prophetic dreams. a number of occasions i dream something odd, such as about a person i have not seen in ages. the next day, I walk past that person in the street. I don't always remember my dreams. the only ones i really remember are one where I move house. I don't like that. another one where i go back to work in game. had this dream a number of time, I go back to work in game periodically, like in the christmas rush. it's almost like something i regularly do, go back to work for them, quit, then go back after a couple of months to get a bit of cash, quit for a while, then go back. in the dream, it's a regular thing, but in real life i have never done it. I don't ever want to go back to work there. the third one that i usually remember is where I go to japan. there is a whole world in my dream. it doesn't look like anywhere I have been in real life, the placement of buildings, the shape of the ground, the roads etc. in my dream it is japan and i live there. Quote
*BananaKing Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Do you guys ever have that experiance that right before you wake up from your dream you sort of "fall into bed"? It always scares me. I love it when something from the real world is making sound and you hear that sound in your dream, but you interpret it as something else. My alarm went off once and I heard it, but in my dream it was someone clapping in tandem with the alarm. Quote
*Steel Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 Yeah I have friends who have "the Naked dream" alot. I guess your right Ryuki they are pretty dishonist or at least hiding something. Guess I can take solice in never having had those dreams. It is quite amazing how you can create something so complex in a dream, Yet if you were too try while you were awake you would have great difficulty. I've had one or two prophetic dreams, but I also get moments like that while I'm awake and predict things that are yet too happen. I'm also not sure if I get recouring dreams. I sometimes dream something that I think I've dreamt before, but thats in the dream state and once I'm awake I cant remember having had it before that well. Its a strange sence of confusion. Quote

My alarm went off once and I heard it, but in my dream it was someone clapping in tandem with the alarm. I used to get the falling feeling when I was a young kid. Always snapps you awake. I do get the alarm thing quite often too. I usualy think its a phone, or a fire alarm. Once it was a person just standing there saying "Beebeebee beep" over and over again. Took me a minute to wake up. Quote
*BananaKing Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Its always weird when you have a dream and you look up the symbolism of it. Like seeing your house is supposed to symbolise your longing for home or something you know. I'd still love to know what this dream means: You've all seen both Predator and Harry Potter correct? One night I'm walking through a dark forest when out of no where a predator jumps out of the bushes and bites my shoulder. He then turns into powder and I never see him again. At every full moon, I turn into a predator and my mission was to go to Hogwarts and hunt down Harry Potter. (Trust me it gets weirder) I go to Hogwarts and instead kill Draco and leave the "Predator Wrist Nuke" and blew up the school. I then met my family at Times Square in NYC where my brother was playing inside a building where all the children were morphing into chocolate. I saw Harry potter on a parade float, caught him did the classic predator spine rip and woke up before I could predator scream...yup anyone have an idea what that could mean? Quote
*Steel Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 Well apart from it meaning you are quite obviously hopelessly insane I have no idea what that would be about. Although just wait for hollywood to bring out Harry Potter vs Predator. They are running low on ideas and that would no doubt rake in the money. You should write a screen play and send it too all the studios. You may as well profit from your madness. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 bananaking, it sounds to me it was related to your feelings of childhood excitement. predator was always seen as exciting, romantic, adventurous etc. many of the feelings young boys have and something that comes into play when going out and messing about with friends. how this may relate to harry potter could be something to do with how you feel towards harry potter, it is a childlike thing that may hint at taking us back to our childhood but it's not quite the same. it doesn't give the true feeling of excitement we would have had in the past. this is why the predator in you is behaving so violently towards the harry potter guys. and is why your family is also involved in affairs. to take away from the films in question it leaves you with a possibility that you are feeling the loss of certain things that you felt in your younger days, you may be angry that you don't enjoy the same type of things you used to. of course, the best interpreters of our dreams is our self. bananaking, you will have a better sense of what this dream means to you. it could be that predator or harry potter have a greater significance and thus a different meaning to you. oh yeah, the falling lurch thing. I heard it is your mind and body going out of sync, if you are overtired, your balance centre gets switched off too early and you feel it go, shocking you back to awareness and switching it back on again. I personally find that it never happens if i lie on my side. Quote
*BananaKing Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Wow its funny how deep your dreams really mean even if they're super weird. Yeah it usually only happens when you're on your backside Quote
Mirabilis Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) I know growing up, I had one dream over many times. I would fall out of the sky to my death, and usually woke up with my heart pounding, and forcing my torso up out of the bed. I first had this dream when I was 3 and would wake up on the floor or in the process of falling out of my bed. My feet and hands were usually very sweatly too. I've been told that what you think of before falling alseep is what you dream about, if that is true, then that might explain why I havent had a real dream in the last two years. I remember my dreams, I remember dreams that I've had when I was three, I'll give an example below here shortly. I used to pride myself on that, I never really bragged about it, but it made me feel good that I could remember my dreams when my friends would say they couldnt. Perhaps I payed more attention to my dreams? But I do know, that I don't forget my dreams, I never have woken up and not known what I dreamed about, some people told me if you didn't dream you would die. I don't understand how you would die if you didn't dream, but if I did dream, for the last two years I've dreamt of nothingness, just shere emtpy blackness, and if I dreamt that, because that was what I was thinking, it makes sense. Because when I close my eyes to sleep what do I see? Darkness so I guess it makes sense there. But anyways here's a dream that I always never did fully understand but it for some reason ment alot to me: When I was seven, I lived in TX near an open field. In my dream, I was 7 and it was dark outside like 8 o'clock. My mother and I had went and pick up my friends who were going to stay the night at our house. We were all in her white van pulling up to our house, when we looked out the car window and saw a Grey Wolf killing a horse on the otherside of a barwired fence. He then sayed "That the sun will never rise! And I will kill you all!" We then all ran into our house, and when we opened the door, it was like a super wal'mart inside a normal house. We then all ran to the craft's a boards isle and made a big contraption and painted a sun on it. When we were finished, one of my friends pulled on the rope, and activated the card board sun rising over the card board horizon, on the contraption. This started showing light everywhere from the sun's ray, and we were all cheering. Then across the same isle, we saw the Wolf had done the same thing only with the moon, and activated his contraption, and his moon over whelmed/over powered our sun and he 'beat' us that round. Because we lost he got to kill one of my friends. We then ran outside and started yelling for the sun to rise, and because that didn't work he killed another friend of mine. Finally me and my best friend Kyle, were left, and we looked for a sun back in the store, we found something like a card with a sun on it, but the Wolf chewed it up, and then killed him. The last moments of this dream, was me running outside the house to my mom's van, which she was in it waiting for me, but the Wolf, grabbed me by the ankle and pulled me out, and then!!!!!!! I woke up. I never knew what this dream ment for me, though it is very meaningful, and has a bit of Rock'A'Doodle in it. There are some more dreams I would like to share but for the sake of time, I'll leave this one for this post. Edited January 29, 2011 by Mirabilis Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 what an amazing dream. the wolf represents the earth and nature. more the wilderness and the wildness of man. the mall is obviously the symbol of civilised society. the battle was between society, civilisation and nature, wildness, instinct. i'm not sure if this is a personal thing for you, but it shows that going back to your family is important. your family would be the symbol for your heart, listen to your own heart and beliefs or listen to society, science, technology etc. but the dream suggests that these things are futile and that the wildness will always win. but the darkness is not bad. the dream ended at that point, but if the dream had continued, i imagine you would have been the wolf. you would have understood the wildness and the darkness. you would have felt it and understood it. I'd love to know what this means to you. as i said with bananaking, you are much more able to understand this than I. 1 Quote
*Steel Posted January 29, 2011 Author Posted January 29, 2011 That is a pretty intresting dream Mirabilis. Although it must have been pretty scary as well. I think the most cohearent one I had was yesterday nights one. I'm unsure how its started but the first thing I remember had my parents and myself walking through this big airport building tunnel. I remember being angry at them. They had messed up the orginization of the flights and somehow I was left without a car. I think I was just dropping them off, but for some reason I'd joined them on a bus ride too the airport, leaving my car sevoral hours travel away. We seemed to be doing more wandering around these long passageways than anything else. I stopped at a water fountain and took a drink. I remember it having a strangly large bowl and was all shiney silver. I washed my face and hands in it before turning too them and saying I was leaving. They were annoyed as they still had a bit too go before they found their plane but I told them I had my own problems and left. I also found it odd that I was wearing the Mariachi's outfit from Desperado (I know it was that because of the scorpion on the back of the jacket. didn't have a guitar case though.) I cant quite remember what happened next but then I seemed to be in this sort of shopping cernter compound. Sort of like something from Dead Rising. It was all enclosed and it felt rather empty as even though the shops were open there was no staff. There were a few of us there, although no one I know in real life. A bunch of us were planning on watching something in one of the cimenas and one of the girls was trying to make us all popcorn. For some reason I was unsuaualy agressive and bossing people around. It had something to do with me thinking they were slacking off and there was something really important we needed to be doing. I left them and went to see the Sheriff. He seemed to be incharge of looking after us and protecting us from this weird bunch of guys in suits who were from some mining company. There were Men in Black types and rather inhuman feeling. I was really angry with the sheriff as I knew he was secretly dealing with them on the sly. So I kicked the door down and said I was going to take his job and he could go out into the wastelands (I dunno I think it was post apocolyptic outside of the compound) He told me that I couldn't take his job as he was the strongest. He drew a knife which we all seemed to have. I drew mine and with one clean motion I chopped his blade off like it was made of foam or soemthing. He freaked out and asked how I did that. I said I've always been hiding what I can do but I've lost faith so now its up too me. There were some other parts too it but I cant really remember them. I'm pretty sure its all to do with me asserting myself and being independant... which I am... I dont really depend on anyone so I'm not too sure about it. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I'd like to see what other people think of that. I've interpreted 2 so far and not really gotten any response to what i have said. my ego is hungry so I'll wait for a little while and tell you what i got from it. I'll wait to see if the other guys can make sense of what i said or if it was useful at all. Quote
Mirabilis Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Hmmm. wow that makes sense in a lot of ways and is quite ironic. Back then the family meaning that you mentioned ryuki, was very important to me, but as i got older my family and I have distance ourselves, and we arnt quite as close we used to be when I was so young, and I've had many 'agressive' encounters with em. We don't get along to well, but will come together when the time calls for it. After sharing that dream with you all, I started thinking about it, and around two hours afterwards, I thought I came up with something for it: I thought the Wolf represented my failures, and my friends represented the three chances that I could get to accomplish something very important that would affect many people including ones I cared about. The overwhelmness of my failure caused me to run away from the *society* as ryuki suggested, by it would always come back to find me. This also has meaning to me, for it has happened to me in my past, ryuki's interpretation seems to be more acurate. Thank you for your time to interpret it ryuki. And yes steel it was indeed scary for me back then. As far as interpreting your dream, I might not be as fortunate, it was quite difficult for me to do my own, sorry to say it, but I do look forward to ryuki's view if he indeeds posts it. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 thanks for posting your own thought mirabilis. those are most important. listen to your own feeling before you listen to me, I don't know you as well as you do ok I'll post what i thought about steels dream. it's nice to break it up here with dreams, it is best just to go with your first gut feeling. it doesn't matter if it's wrong, because it just sets about a type of exploration. i'll just retrieve what i wrote earlier. ---- ok here- it seems that the beginning is about your life and how well you are living up to your parents expectations. you are looking into spiritual aspects of your life and this is distracting you from what you think you ought to be doing. at the same time, the fact you are invariably alone or very few people around, is that you feel like you've been left alone. somebody very important to you has gone. of course i know this to be true from other sources, but i believe this is a reflection of how you feel about that. of course at the same time you feel that other people are not acknowledging that as you feel they ought to. the mining company were secret keepers. you feel that something you are studying is perhaps not safe, that there will be those who will come after you for uncovering the secrets. but your confrontation with the sheriff shows that you are already realising that you are more than capable of protecting yourself from any potential dangers. LordSpleach Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I have some strange dreams, though there is only two recurring dreams that I remember. One started around middle school, where I'm in a van with a group where we just pass a house in the woods. Then we go up a hill to eventually get to a pitch black town that seems Victorian styled. Never see any else but I just wander. Not else happens but wandering. The other one is messed up. A guy and girl are in bunk-beds in a room. Sometimes the guy is on top, and others it's the girl. Well the alarm clock goes off and they just start screaming and cover their eyes. Now this goes on for a few minutes, and then the alarm stops. They stop screaming and remove their hands to find that they no longer have eyes. There's no blood or gore just completely removed eyeballs. Strange yes, but the weird part of all this is I've had this dream since I was about three years old! Quote

LordSpleach Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Hmm...never had someone say that before. Quote
durendal Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I will be completely honest with you guys. Truthfully, since the posts are too long, I only skimmed over them and didn't really digest anything, so please do excuse me if I am unable to contribute to that. Currently not in the mood to read long posts. But I do seem to get the notion that somebody is a predator and harry potter fanboy. But as not to sound too off topic, the falling thing while dreaming thingy is sometimes refered by other people as "out of body" experience. Something like your soul leaving your body to travel, and you feel like falling when your body is trying to suck back your soul in. Although I'm not entirely sold of the idea. Quote
Mirabilis Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Well, would people say that Nightmares have any meaning, such as ryuki has been giving? Cuase that's what I mostly have dreamt about in my childhood, and I don't know if it was because I was merely scared of something, and was thinking about that particular thing bfore going to sleep, or if it really has a significant meaning to my life. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 it really depends on how you define nightmares. but generally yes. if you are dreaming something then it is based somewhat in your subconscious or in whatever spiritual beliefs you have. I won't ask you to share, since nightmares are a possible sign of trauma, so it would be completely up to you. we all have trauma in our past and it can be difficult to talk about with others. Quote
Mirabilis Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 I dont mind sharing, this all happened in my past anyways. Besides, I would love to see what you can intepret for some of these, because (besides the obvious) I have no idea why I dreamt some of this stuff. To start off, I will share one of my earliest nightmares. I was three years old, I believe it was actually some day in July, 1993, anyways, the dream took place in my families house, on shepard air force base. One floor, no stairs. Anyways, so I go into my bedroom, and the room is huge! The ceiling was about 40 ft, and the walls were very far apart. In my room, it was kind of like a orfinange (spelling?) THere were many kids, who had many beds. ON the beds they made igloo's with teir blankets and covers, and would go inside of them to sleep. Anyways, on the back wall, there was a giant, fancy window. It was late at night, and a very large (Eru style) dragon came over. I got p to go look at it (up close to the window) and he looked in at me, smiled and left. I was freaked out, but another kid saw it, told the others, and they all crowded by the window. I ran and hid in one of the blanket igloo's for a few moments, but left soon after because I knew he was going to eat them all. When I ran outside, the house now looked like an old school church (not catholic more like a southern baptist) even though it was not a church. It was way out in the woods, and had a massive parkinglot, made out of gravel road. Oddly, it became day, I ran and hid in one of the cars, when out of nowhere this little, fuzzy, goblin/grimlin thing was bouncing around the parkinglot saw me in the car. At first he was surprised, but then kind of happy, because he knew where i was, and ran into the woods to tell the dragon he found me. I then woke up, and was quite disturbed about it. Even to this day, I still do not know it's meaning, but it has never left my mind either. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 i don't get the sense of a nightmare from this to be honest. maybe not a happy dream, but not the kind that makes people wake up screaming. do you come from a large family? perhaps your parent are very devout in their religious ideals and this feels like you are somehow distanced from them. there are some thing which you would be scared to talk about because of any consequences. from this, it seems like your life is very controlled, almost like a soldier in an army, yet the army sergeant or whatever they are called, that is either god, or your representation of god, which may be your father or a pastor, this is very strict and very scary. Quote
Mirabilis Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 i don't get the sense of a nightmare from this to be honest. maybe not a happy dream, but not the kind that makes people wake up screaming. Well, looking at from our age, it doesn't seem to be all that scary, however, at the time I was a mere todler, and it scared the crap out of me. I don't know if i was crying, like I did from most of my other nightmares, but I know that it bothered me even at that age. This was NOT the worste nightmare I've ever had, not by a long shot. But, it still was bothersome to me, at least, at that age. (I hope this didn't seem like I was attacking you ryuki, because that's not how I intend it to be, more of, explainitory) In regards, to what you said about my life being very controlled, some of my friends felt the same way. So, I can see what you mean about that. I took into contexts what you said, and thought about it for a while, and it sparked another theory. Perhaps, this dream or nightmare, was telling me, I wanted to run away, from something I didn't think was safe, but was also afraid of the unknown. Hence, the woods, dragon, and goblin. But that overall, the children's house, would ultimately be destroyed by the unknown. Hence, the children being devoured by the dragon. Is that fessible, or am I way out in the left field here? hahaha. Quote
