Aether Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 been real ill of late and not had much energy for reading subs... still not finished watching Kamen Riider Ryuki and approaching the end (on ep 43) ...just wondering how the movie fits in with this?.... does it come before the end? after the end? or is the end? I wanted to ask because I know some series do incorporate them into the storyline Kamen Rider W being one... so I didn't want to mess up the watching order or anything... Quote
Shin Mefilas Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I haven't really watched many live action shows, I have the first season of Ultraman and Ultraman Max but thats pritty much it. I haven't seen or read anything to do with Kamen Rider out side of the Masked Rider tv series. I've been meaning to but cant find the time Quote
*Jess♥ Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 kamen rider ryuki movie is not within continuity of the series. watch it as an alternate reality type of thing. Quote
LordSpleach Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I like Ryuki's movie ending better than the series ending. It made more sense to me. Watching wise I started watching Goseiger and I am enjoying Gaim and Kyoryuger right now. Quote
Aether Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 kamen rider ryuki movie is not within continuity of the series. watch it as an alternate reality type of thing. Nice one. thanks I like Ryuki's movie ending better than the series ending. It made more sense to me. Watching wise I started watching Goseiger and I am enjoying Gaim and Kyoryuger right now. Lordspleach please do not watch Goseiger , I say this as one caring human being to another - it is drenn. don't waste your time . I watched the first arc within the series and quite frankly it it was terrible, boring and really craply acted,. just the way they pose is even lack luster... bah, anyway do what you like, but there are plenty other sentai that you could spend your time watching! LordSpleach Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) Well, I'll have to just it for myself, but I least it doesn't a crazy giant robo like this... Edited December 22, 2013 by LordSpleach Quote
Toku Warrior Posted December 23, 2013 Author Posted December 23, 2013 Oh yeah, just wait until Gosei Knight appears, Spleach. Don't say U weren't warned. As for me, I'm only watching KyouRyuuger. Though I'm waiting in spurts of 10 episodes at a time when I watch it. Not gonna bother with Gaim. Looks godly horrible. And I won't even both with the next Sentai series. And I can understand the reason why people don't like Blade as much as Ryuki, but U have to admit, to those that have seen ALL of Blade, it has one of the BEST endings of any Heisei Era Rider series. LordSpleach Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 You shouldn't pass up Gaim, HG. It's been good so far. I like Blade too, but these shows are for kids or young teenagers, I never expect any series to get grim. For me, as long as it doesn't a Rider as pathetic as Wataru. I couldn't finish Kiva because of him, even with the awesome Otoya. Quote
durendal Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Arakawa Under the Bridge. It's insanely hilarious. As for Gaim, I just can't swallow the whole fruit as head bit thing. It might be just me judging the book with its cover, but I just find it too silly. Quote
LordSpleach Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 You should try Gaim at least. I still hate Fourze's Rider designs but it is a good show. Quote
Aether Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 well, i just finished watching the last 3 episodes of Kamen Rider Ryuki.... this post is nothing but a spoiler so please dont read if you havent watched Ryuki end first i'll say that i liked it. just the way that (nearly) all the threads were tied up nicely made it a worth while watch. ive heard others say that the ending was disapointing...i wouldnt say that, though of course i wanted Shinji to be alive and be the overall hero, however the way things worked out was really the only feasable thing to happen for everyone to get what they wanted... shinji after ages agonising over it finally ended up with no more fighting and to not have to kill his friends (after what was an epic heroic death!!) ren to save eri yui not to be saved so as not to sacrifice her friends lives Kanzaki didnt save yui's life but ultimately respected her wish... I cant mention all the other badass rider endings but they were cool or should I say apt. i liked all of that and even liked the weird 'were in mirror world lets chill with our younger selves' etc by yui and kanzaki, and how they did draw the pictures of people being happy in that world rather than monsters... but it did leave a somewhat what the F? moment... the thread that wasnt tied for me was the working of mirror world itself, like how Kanzaki manipulated it and how he can rewind time and make parallel universes ( ''should we repeat it from the beginning?'' - ''i will do it to grant you life..'' ), and the real deal with the monsters manifestation etc... but i suppose it wasnt really necessary and it is supposedly a kids show afterall, just suspend belief and enjoy!! that was the only thing that i felt a very little let down by, but its a minor discrepancy as overall i thoroughly enjoyed the whole series and the finale , great characters ( the way all the riders had their own stories, some substance and their own motivations) , great story , great music, great action, great drama and a sprinkle of comedy. excellent. i am intrigued by the movie now as with the whole parallel universe thing i suppose it means any outcome is feasable within the Ryuki world, but whatever... i enjoyed the TV series, so its all good hmmm, now which KR series do I watch next?????????/ Quote
Aether Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 ha, ive watched nowhere near as much KR as Sentai... now I've finished Ryuki , Blade and W I don't know wether to go early or late hesei.... after watching maskman, i even went so far as to get the showa era KR black just incase I fancied watching it, but im not in the mood for that yet... odin Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Watch OOO, you may turn out liking it, it is my favorite Rider series to date that or 555, can't go wrong either way. Edited January 21, 2014 by odin Quote
*Jess♥ Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I was going to recommend 555 or Kabuto. so it looks like two votes for 555. glad you appreciated ryuki. That ending was a bit of a shocker because it's completely unexpected. It really tore me apart to see that to be honest. Hopefully you can understand why I was reluctant to give away any details about it? And hopefully you can understand why that ending made me so eager to recommend it. oh hey, what about the white tiger rider? I thought his story was pretty special too. All he wanted was to be a hero. in the end, he truly got his wish. Quote
Aether Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Watch OOO, you may turn out liking it, it is my favorite Rider series to date that or 555, can't go wrong either way. I do have OOO lined up, I think I almost satrted with that before, but I decided to start on an earlier series, so I might do thanks.... All he wanted was to be a hero. in the end, he truly got his wish. yeah 2 votes for 555... I think if I don't start on 555 I may take Odins advice and try OOO... that way I will be alternating between older and newer hesei rider series which keep things fresh, I liked the contrast from Blade to W and then to Ryuki as they are completely different, it might be if I watch 555 now I might feel like it feels too much like ryuki in term of its look, effects etc..? thanks for the suggestions oh and on KR Ryuki... I understand why you were reluctant to give any details away , and im greatful for it, cheers... yeah the ending was a real shocker, when shinji got struck I was like..''no... they cant do', and then he continued to fight and I thought,'' good, maybe he'll be ok'' , but then he powered down after the epic fight and I was like ''NO!! they are gonna flippin kill him off!!!!'' theres so may emotions because your thinking no hes the main man , he's cool, hes supposed to win and make everything ok for everyone AND himself - that's what happens usually right?? but after the emotional shock and the awww man! really? it made me think of his desires and the position of everyone else involved and like said in my previous post it really was one of the only feasible things to happen for things to work out... all that ending was about sacrifice I suppose all though shinji didn't choose to die per se he still sacrificed his life in the end protecting people from the monsters - which was his desire from the beginning and then secondly he also ended up ending the rider wars much more easily, without killing anyone AND in turn helped Ren to fulfil his desire to save Eri Yui sacrificed herself for the sake of the others, Kanzaki sacrified his desire to save Yui, Goro sacrified himself to fullfill Kitakoa's final wish, and yes the tiger rider even sacrificed himself to become a real hero , all the conscious effort he had put in to try to be 'a hero' that was so twisted and misguided and in the end all it took was a unconscious bit of humanity that linked back to his sensei that triggered him to act so fast to save that father and son... although the tiger riders choice I think was an in the moment instinctual thing all the others were a conscious decision ( apart from Shini who was just lucky / unlucky depending on how you look at it!) which makes me think of what someone said to me the other month that they had heard love been described as ' being willing to do something for someone else that you wouldn't normaly be readily willing to do ' now while I don't agree with that statement 100% because love is / can be much more than that you could say that it does come with the territory sometimes, I do feel that those sacrifices in Ryuki's ending were all from a place of love... and on that mushy sentiment I will finish! durendal Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Does any of you know that a new live action Rurouni Kenshin movie was made? It's sort of a sequel to the first movie which deals with Shishio. Now this is interesting. I've read that this will be released on August 1, 2014. 1 Quote

I haven't read the manga, would it be enjoyable to just watch the film?? Quote
durendal Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I prefer the manga as it gives more details to the characters. The movie felt somehow rushed, but still good nonetheless. I think it might be better to watch the movie first and then compare the manga. If you find the movie great, then the manga will blow you away. Quote
*guyverfan Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 agree with durendal there, pretty sure there was 4ova's and an anime movie as well series which i think are better than the live action movie. don't know if i've asked this question before, but was it ever said what disease kenny and kiruo had? Aether Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Ressha Sentai ToQger, Kamen Rider Gaim, Ultraman Gaia, Ultraman Mebius, Ultraman Cosmos, Ultraman Max, Ultraman Powered & Ultraman Great. whats your favourite Ultraman Bobby? I recently finished watching Kyoryuger. ( I would do a customary end of sentai review but I cant be bothered at the moment - might do it later for my own amusement !) overall it was good and I did enjoy it but there were too many 'filler' episodes along the way... I wish they would just put better effort into the main story so it filled out the episodes more rather than having a slightly weak overall plot and stretching it out so much and filling up the years worth of eps with meaningless ones... but like I said on a whole it was enjoyed .
