jerrygoodman Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 There's something I never told you... 1 Quote
durendal Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!!!! *Squeals like a fangirl* Ahem, did not expect that to come in so soon. 2 Quote
jerrygoodman Posted October 25, 2022 Author Posted October 25, 2022 Random thought, but I've been wondering, could this guy possibly be Psyklop? https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Psyklop_(Earth-616) 1 Quote
Salkafar Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 I think you got something there. But does that mean we might also get to see Psycho-Man? 1 Quote
jerrygoodman Posted October 29, 2022 Author Posted October 29, 2022 Oh man, if that happens, it'd be a good back door for the FF to show up... Quote
Tora Tan Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 (edited) the first trailer inspired me more. This new trailer makes me feel a little underwhelmed. Still going to watch it of course. Edited January 10, 2023 by Tora Tan Quote

jerrygoodman Posted January 29, 2023 Author Posted January 29, 2023 You're an Avenger...have I killed you before? Quote
Tora Tan Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 That is rather visceral dialogue. In terms of Marvel movies, that is possibly the most scary line I can think of. 1 Quote
jerrygoodman Posted January 31, 2023 Author Posted January 31, 2023 Imagine if they gave us this scene following that line... 1 Quote
Tora Tan Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 oh my god that would be absolutely terrifying!!! I just never realised how dangerous Kang must be. I see him as a human, just a human, but then I guess he has all technology going on, so it makes sense. I'm going to look forward to what we get in this upcoming movie. I'll be there on release day as usual. 1 Quote
jerrygoodman Posted February 9, 2023 Author Posted February 9, 2023 "You're not the one with the hammer?" I think Jonathan Majors is really gonna nail it as Kang. 1 Quote
durendal Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 So who's gone and seen this? I have plans to see it this weekend. Quote
Tora Tan Posted February 17, 2023 Posted February 17, 2023 I've seen it and I regret it. Antman 1 and 2 are fun films with good comedy. It's like they set out to make a serious MCU film then realised it was too serious and decided to try and inject some antman style humour into it, but it completely undermines what was there... Then they added what has become common MCU tropes into it... I don't want to do this any more. I reflect on the guardians holiday special and the past couple years of MCU products and I don't even think James Gunn could have managed to create something of beauty and purity. I think I may be done. Quote
durendal Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 I wasn't able to see it last week due to scheduling conflicts, but managed to see it yesterday. I did enjoy the movie, but you are right that there is no oomph factor. Probably because although Ant-man is not an A+ character (in my opinion), but his setting is critical to jumpstart the next phase. I guess the movie would have been better if you've seen Loki, as that's the first appearance of Kang, which would make the first post credit scene make much more sense. 1 Quote
jerrygoodman Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Haven't seen it yet, but...how was Jonathan Majors as Kang? Quote

I would say the Kang in Quantumania has a totally different demeanor from He Who Remains (from Loki). So that says a lot about his acting. A little bit off from my expectations of Kang, but I feel he works. 1 Quote
Tora Tan Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 83 is not that good for a rotten tomatoes score. The scores may say something but the financial performance says a lot more. Quantumania had the biggest drop off out of all MCU movies so far. Quote
Salkafar Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 That's what I meant. The critics deemed it rotten. I don't understand how the audience gave it 83% with that box office result. 2 Quote
Tora Tan Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 I think Rotten Tomatoes users are generally more generous with their scores for some things. It is weird how the scores differ across the different review sites, with metacritic having it's highest scores in the 8's and Rotten Tomatoes having it's highest scores in the 90's. It's possibly due to how the score interface is presented to users, with Metacritic offering a straight 1 to 10 with a traffic light system, but Rotten Tomatoes offering a 5 star option with half stars available.
