Matt Bellamy Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 thanks guys... so if the dub merged the final 4 original episodes does that mean i could watch 40 eps in english and then watch the final 4 of the japanese version?? There was a lot more edits than that throughout the series. If you wish to see "Tekkaman Blade" the only way to watch it is the original Japanese version. You probably won't be missing out on much if you only stick to the Teknoman series though. I've heard from many people that it still covers all the important stuff... Just with a lot of regular editing ( like blood etc...). It was edited for TV... But not US TV, so not as heavily mauled. Like for instance, spoilers of course: When Bernard attacks Lance to stall him, so Blade could finish aquiring his Blastor form. Lance runs him through, with the blade of his weapon sticking out of Bernards back. The blade and blood were removed for the TV version. Quote
Aether Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 well im going to get the teknoman series and see how i go with that. if i get the feeling its been ruined ill try n get the original. i dont even know if i'll like it. even though theres a uk dub ive not really heard of it until these past few years despite the fact it looks quite old. maybe nostalgia is a factor in peoples liking of it if they grew up with it? or maybe its old and a good series like the original guyver oavs?? It can feel very slow at times, and does have quite a few episodes that feel like filler episodes or "Monster of the Week" episodes. But the plot itself is very good, and the drama is handled well. As mentioned in an older post, the animation can be really bad sometimes... But really high quality sometimes too. They used multiple studios to make the series and sadly you can tell very easily. It's one of the flaws that can really turn somepeople away from the series. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Agreed. Though, to those looking for the series, Anime Works (Media Blasters) released all 49 original uncut episodes with english subs on 3 box-sets and they also included the even harder to come by OVAs. A must have for any TB fan. I have all 3 boxsets and now I just need the DVD set for TB II. 1 Quote

*guyverfan Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) woohoo, just got my figma blade and evil figures in the mail, i'm glad. really nice, only acouple cm's smaller than the armourplus figures, but atleast these ones come fully assembled. i felt really rippedoff with the armourplus versions when i realised i still had to assemble it. anyway, whats more interesting is that this figma blade by maxfactory is almost identical to the figure which comes with pegus. What's kind of sad, but also kinda awesome... Judging from the designs of certain parts of Blades armor... I could see them doing a recolor of Blade, in Tekkaman Blade 2 colors. And if it would be normal price I would still buy it in a heartbeat... Though IF it were made, it would be an "exclusive" and probably $100+. And it would STILL be tempting... Since I liked the main color changes from TB2. Speaking of the Armor Plus's, which do you have? I'm a bit behind, as I only have Blade, Evil and Blastor Blade... But thankfully, other than Blastor Evil, ebay's prices on them seem pretty average. Quote
*guyverfan Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) i've only got the gloss version of blade, wasn't really impressed with it so didn't want to get the other versions of blade and evil. but still had to get sol 1&2, aki and rapier just incase another company doesn't pickup the line. i'm excited that max factory has picked up the line though and i'm hoping they'll continue it further than just blade and evil?
