Full Metal Alchemist Season 2

Featured Replies

Well, it's too early to be an april fools joke. But it was announced on the official site at haragen.jp.

With the way the first season ended up, I'm wondering how they would continue with the second season. Seeing some of the key players dying on the first season which kinda split way off from the book, I thinking either they create some new material in the first few episodes to cover the plot holes or they make the story entirely new and independent from the manga. Either way, this would be interesting.

Well, here's the official teaser from youtube:

Well, it says that it is a new series. I'm wondering if this is a hint for a second season or a remake to follow the manga. We'll have to wait till December 12 for more info.

I've heard that this new series is following the manga. The fact that they first announced the new FMA anime in the manga a few months back supports this theory. Plus, Al is armor again. And since in the anime they were trapped in an alternate universe with no access to alchemy, that would be impossible without first returning to the original world.

I heard about this some time ago as well, it's great news!

I'm really happy to hear that it's getting more anime attention, since it's a shame that a manga still on going has no anime to compliment it.

i would love it if it followed the manga directly, since to be honest, i could never really be bothered to read the manga. although i heard it was a lot better than the anime.

I could never get through the manga, where I stopped everyone tells me things start to get good. I stopped when the Elrics fights the armor guys and then it was just too much talking and not enough action. I need action in a manga and anime, but it was more talking than my small attention span could take

Well, I'm already wondering how they can correct what happened in the first series. As a lot, and I mean a lot of what happened in the past have a big impact in the current story, Like Scar and Hohenheim. Also mentioned earlier about Al being back in Armor. Also the appearance of previous humonculous screws up the story. This is getting confusing.

That's where the anime and manga diverge story-wise! Man, that was a really crappy point to stop at!

The first anime started out pretty in line with the manga you know. I think it's odd that there starting from the very beginning again.

I'm really hoping that it finishes with the manga's ending which should be in a few months. Most important, I want to see Ling and the evil panda!

OMG! this is awesome news, i loved the first series, but am ashamed to say i have never read the manga. can't wait to see this new one.

if you loved the series, i thinks that you'll love the manga more. Since in the manga, the characters who supposedly died in the series gets some serious kickass action.

The end of the manga has been announced!? When did that happen?

One of my LJ friends is very happy that they're making a new anime sereis that's sticking so close to the manga. That was a cool preview, too.

Also, Mustang has both eyes in the preview. It can't be a continuation.

This is good News, I enjoyed the anime, my only grape was that many characters died a bit two soon, when they had a lot of potential.

I'm certainly hoping that Arakawa would be heavily involved in the series to create a new script to cover the plot holes in the first series so he can continue on and make the second season stick to the manga's story.

The interest is certainly there. Since the manga is still ongoing, lot's of readers are anticipating the events in the manga animated. Not to mention that not many people were happy how the first series ended.

Let us just pray that BONES keeps their filthy hands off of the storyline. Isn't WWII era Germany so original for the setting of a war!

I thought the first anime series was awesome. One following the manga should be even better. That's why Hellsing Ultimate is so much better then the other one that they made.

Do you remember what Incognito looked like? Filler endings are beyond bad, they are pure evil! :Ggd:

Just look at Gantz: Wonderful manga, horrible anime.

I still liked Incognito. He had a kick ass name. Plus if I had not watched the tv series I would not have gotten into Hellsing.

By the way they have a new trailer for the new series of Fullmetal. It starts April 5th. It replaces Gundam 00.

I just saw the first episode of FMA, and I don't think this is a continuation. Most of the characters who had died in the first season have come back (thank goodness). It seems like a retelling of the FMA series with a few additions rather than a continuation. I certainly hope that they follow the manga closely this time.

I heard that's what the intent of making this anime is. The first episode was pretty awesome. All your original favorites all in the first ep. Hughes is as funny as I remember with his daughter and wife. Armstrong is still like the funniest character and Mustang is still bad ass. That Ice Alchemist guy was really cool too; clever power. The opening animation is pretty awesome and the song is good too.
