Hello there!

Not sure how active you guys are anymore, but...hi, I'm Sammy, from Utah(no, there are no Precursor dig sites near me.), and uh.. got back into the fandom as a result of some tabletop stuff I've been doing recently, got a fanfic muse bug biting me, and so...here I am. My cousin used to be big into Guyver and got me into it years ago as a kid, and this is...pretty much the place I got when I googled the fandom.

Hello! Unfortunately we can't offer much because the manga's been on hold for, oh, three years now?

But be welcome. Have a seat.

If you want to just chat and be among people, the guyver facebook group is way more active, but this place has history and  you're more likely to find old projects and history and long time fans here.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. Considering the coma in most of my fandoms(Metroid being my other big one, and that's been in quite a bit of a slump, not as bad as Guyver, though, it seems), a quiet place here doesn't surprise me.

I recently started work on an AU guyver fic I'm posting at ff.n and Ao3, so...never hurts to try and see what else is going on. Even if the manga is in hiatus.

Again.

Lately I've been reading through it again. Honestly I wish the author would have wrapped it up years ago out of fear of Author Existence Failure.  Which pretty much happened and I had feared for the longest time that it would happen. Yoshiki has been working on the Manga since 1986 for 35 years. Any time you draw out a project for that long, you risk never finishing it. Either you die or something occurs in your life to where you move on to something else and the project remains unfinished.

I've been finally catching up on the 2005 series and at long last saw the '86 OVA, haven't even started the manga binge yet. The Steve Wang movies were my first real exposure to the whole Guyververse, and I still wish Steve and David had been able to wrap things up with a third movie. I'm curious as to what concept ideas they had.

But yeah, I was surprised to find out there still is not an ending after 35 years.

You're welcome, it's pleasure to have ya here! ^^

Welcome to the group!! I find that re reading the manga is good for a yearly treat. Still awesome every time. But it does stink knowing there is no end or anything in sight. Hopefully one day we'll get a continuation and eventual end to it. Until then, we can all lean on each other to keep it barely alive!

Forgive the necro. I'm still alive, lol. Drifted away due to covid chaos, but, poking around at some of my old haunts and lurks.

You're forgiven. ^^
