if you are interested in a Godzilla reboot you may be in luck, check out godzilla on wikipedia and they talk about legendary pictures making a new american godzilla movie (no relation to the 1998 one though) could be interesting and an announcement could be made at the beginning of 2010.

wow, i did not notice that this thread got so many pages, and purgstall got some interesting points in the Godzilla movies, frankly if godzilla gets another movie i hope toho makes it and not another studio that gets the rights to make it cause i just fear that they would not be faithful to the source material like they did with the 1998 godzilla, if i look at it in a mature way instead of hearing the fanboy in me it wasn't that bad of a movie , it was average BUT it wasn't Godzilla the just attached the name to make a quick buck but i'm sure if they didn't they still would have done well, they hyped the people with the nicely done trailer, putting the name was not necessary but whats done its done, anyways back on topic, about the remake , if they make it i only hope they stay true with 2 things :

1.Stay true to the source material: Godzilla is a Godzillasaours that was exposed to a nuclear explosion, Is practically indestructible (only another Kaiju of greater or equal strength is able to defeat or kill him) and has atomic breath.

2.still use a suit and not CGI.

I really don't care about realism considering what the subject is about, all i want to see is an over the top action packed godzilla movie where he fights another monster be it old or new or just another royal rumble like in destroy all monsters or final wars, say what you will about this guy but Michael Bay even tho he has not made some crappy movies when he makes an action movie he delivers this Non-stop action with great explosions and stuff with godzilla you dont have to worry much about the story cause there really isn't any perse so he would be the only one i would consider to make it outside of toho, and that is something that i never thought id say in my life.

As long as Godzilla doesn't look like a dinosaur and reproduce, I'm fine with it. Yesh, Godzilla is supposed to be the good monster, and only wrecks the city out of collateral damange, not actually destroy the city.

that american movie godzilla, look like a trogg. his body way too small and skinny. it was like he was all arms and legs. and his jaw was too much like a big boot strapped to his face.

I'd like to see the movie pitting Godzilla with the other legendary monsters like Mothra, Biolante and Mecha Godzilla.

that pic looks like a fusion of the two designs. Sorta gave the more realistic features of zilla, and yet retains most of the classic Godzilla's figure. The onr tjing I regretted about Godzilla was his face, it was so cartoony in many incarnations. Actualy it bordered on looking like Godzilla awas high.

The project was just announced like 2 weeks ago, so the chances of them finalizing the design this early is highly unlikely. We know very little about this project, we haven't even been told who's directing this movie or which company is doing the special effects (supposedly it is WETA, but no confirmation yet), we only know who the producers are. So it's safe to assume that any supposed Godzilla design for the new LP movie is just fan art for now.

EDIT: Yea, that pic is just a fan made thing. Besides that, I don't like how small his head is nor do I like his snout. Other than that, it's good. I'd rather have the LP Godzilla look something similar to the Heisei Godzilla except for slightly slimmer theighs and longer arms so that it can engage in some showa series style fights.

If they took out the bumpy spikes scattered throughout his body, then I think it would be a pretty kickass Godzilla.

One thing is certain, I'm gonna have to start saving up some money for the action figures and stuff. Rumor (which came from a very credible source) has it that Godzilla is fighting a monster in this movie. If I remember correctly, the Godzilla IMAX project has been pretty much scrapped in favor of making this movie in 3-D. Me, I think it might be cool to see Godzilla firing his atomic breath at the crowd. I do dislike the whole 3-D coming back thing, but I think this movie could actually be good in 3-D. I do know that Yoshimitsu Banno, the guy who directed Godzilla vs Hedorah is one of the producers (an exec producer, If I remember Correctly) on this film. Seems like Toho is making sure that they don't get screwed over again. I can't wait to find out who is gonna be directing this movie. I just hope it isn't Tarantino. Tarantino's idea for a Godzilla movie sounded terrible.

i think it is very important to see godzillas eyes so i think on both those models, the eyes are too small.

That's a dream sequence from Always: Sunset on Third Street 2, which is a Toho film. That movie came out in 2007. I heard that the first Always was a pretty good movie, so I might check out both of them though Godzilla only appears in that dream sequence Ryuki posted from the second movie.

Too bad Godzilla is in the movie for like 10 minutes and the movie is 125 minutes long and he's suppose to be the star of Final Wars. I could list a lot more problems that GFW suffers from (and trust me, there are a lot of problems with this movie), but I won't. Lazyness ftw!
