President Trump is speaking out about how to deal with growing threats posed by North Korea, which claims it’s ready to test-fire an intercontinental ballistic missile. NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt reports for TODAY from Seoul, South Korea.

I love how they are concerned about the US citizens living in South Korea - but apparently not the country or its people.

I wonder whether Kim is really such a fool. He stands to gain nothing from pursuing this course, but he can lose everything.

Why did China allow this to happen?

North Korea has been a shining example of a modern dictatorship for years. Its rulers have abused there power with reckless abandon in the form of purges, executions and many other atrocities against humanity. They have also proven themselves to be very ditached from reality and/or down right psychopathic.

This a problem that's been brewing for a long time and its shocking that this situation was ever allowed to get this far.

I know the USA recieve a lot of grief for wading in on these kind of matters. But it does seem that not many other countries are willing to stick their neck out and do what they feel is right. I know they don't do it for free, the piper has to be paid after all. But someone has to do it

China must believe it can control North Korea, to create a sort of mirror image of the USA and Israel in the Middle East.

...So this just went away, did it?

Isn't this completely weird? One moment Korea is on the brink of firing nukes as Korea, Japan and the USA, the next... silence.

I don't think it has gone away. Here the news is more about knee bending at football games and what dumb tweets were sent than world events and issues. Our attention span can be measured in nano seconds. Plenty on the DPRK is still going on, as are other serious issues around the globe. But hey, who needs to worry about that when we have so many other more important things to look into... Like what celebrity was naked or who is splitting up. X day in Guyver sometimes doesn't seem like a bad trade off when you think about it. Lol!

The US Government is doing what the British Government did in the past.  The believe they have the right to police the world.  What they should be doing is fixing their own economy rather than sticking their noses in other countries affairs.

I think it's more that they want to control the world to their own benefit.

But who is 'they'?
