Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama Sr. (black muslim) of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann Dunham of Wichita, Kansas. (white atheist ).

When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced and his father returned to Kenya. His mother married Lolo Soetoro -- a Muslim -- moving to Jakarta with Obama when he was six years old. Within six months he had learned to speak the Indonesian language Obama spent "two years in a Muslim school, then two more in a Catholic school" in Jakarta. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim while admitting that he was once a Muslim, mitigating that damning information by saying that, for two years, he also attended a Catholic school. Obama's father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. was a radical Muslim who migrated from Kenya to Jakarta, Indonesia.

He met Obama's mother, Ann Dunhama white atheist from Wichita, Kansasat the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Obama, Sr. and Dunham divorced when Barack, Jr. was two. Obama's spinmeisters are now attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came from his father and that influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya immediately following the divorce and never again had any direct influence over his son's education.

Dunham married another Muslim, Lolo Soetoro who educated his stepson as a good Muslim by enrolling him in one of Jakarta's Wahabbi schools. Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad on the industrialized world. Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when you are seeking political office in the United States, Obama joined the United Church of Christ to help purge any notion that he is still a Muslim.

Cover up? Maybe? But you guys know what this sort of reminds me of now I'm not ragging on any orginization that might make someone a little fussy, but after reading that I instantly thought of the New pope. I mean the guy was a freak'n Nazi. Some one is seriously guilty about there life choices if you go from be'n a Nazi to be'n the freak'n pope. An I'm just saying that's all.

Now I'm going to say this politely as I can, seeing as I do have quite a few Muslim friends, some of whom follow the Wahhabism form of Islam.

First and foremost, this thread has religious overtones that could result in some serious clashing and heated debate, so I opt for it to be closed before that happens.

Now on a more personal level, Will, how dare you generalize an entire religious sect! Stating that Wahhabism as a "radical teaching" and insinuating that it produces terrorists is beyond reproach.

I am a third year university student at York University currently taking a class called "Introduction to the Study of Religion", we spent an entire lecture on Islamic religious movements, including the aforementioned Wahhabi movement. This radical teaching you speak of is complete and utter bias!

Those within the movement do old more orthodox views of their religion but nothing that would deem it radical by any standard.

I believe I have said enough, though I will say your use of Jihad is not entirely accurate, Jihad means to struggle, insofar as to live a good and moral/virtuous life. The there is a military version of Jihad but the type of Jihad you are implying goes against the very core of the Koran’s principle teachings.

I do not apologize for my words, if this results in my suspension or even banning from the WG board then I will accept that, but that being said I will not stand for people misrepresenting and distorting others religious beliefs because of some geopolitical issue that has the whole world spinning on its head.

Now just to be clear I am not making any comments on this particular person who is seeking political office in the United States of America, I'm speaking on the matter of misrepresenting a religious movement that began with Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, 1703-1791.

I don't think we should close this.

The horrible idea of shutting down every topic just because it might start a debate is out dated.

We need debates. Toss your ideas, tell me I'm an idiot and don't know what I'm talking about, just be civil about it. Express your views and don't be afraid of being banned.

Keep it as PG as possible mind you, and don't openly insult another person outright, but if they're full of crap, tell them so!

This wasn't actually me writing this up. I got this in my email today and figured I would share. I just thought it was interesting that this guy would try and say he was a Christian when most obviously his a Muslim.

It's fun to spark discussions. I wanted to see what other people thought about it.

More power to you Kaiser! And feel welcome to express your opinion on this board whenever the urge strikes you!

Mods are there to make sure things don't get way out of hand... If things didn’t' get at least a little out of hand life, and this message board, would be drab.

But thinking back now does it really matter what religion he was? I mean I've just been thinking(while sitting through my political pholishies class) what does ones religion have to do with there ability to get a job done, the only reason why we have religion is to make our selves fell better about the bad stuff we do and to give one hope that life just doesn't end when you flat line, but this is just what I think. And even if he was like some super dupper sleeper and uses his political power for some evil terrorist plot. Yah right with the way this government works along with the fact that as a body Americans as of and I'm not bring this up just to get people all worked up but because this was the crowning event that got people here in america all worked up but 9/11/01. So it's unlikely that any thing will come of this whole thing.

Wow you know I totally forgot about that topic from way back when, but how are we supposed to remember stuff from like a year ago? I mean I know my memory is good and all but not that good.

Basically consider this topic a test, depending on how everyone responds will determine whether politics and religion will be reinstated as a banned issue or whether everyone here is capable of carrying on a civilized conversation on those subjects.

That sounds fair

To be quite frank, and honestly, it's actually sort of ironic, in a really twisted and rather demonic and idiotic way.

Historically speaking, many of the wars

and conflicts fought were started by a faction or fanatic of Christianity. For example, the Crusades are a prime example. Fought against the residing Arabs in the area of that time for rights to visit Jeruselem, making pilgrimages to the area, war was fought in the supposed Holy Land, where there really shouldn't have been blood shed to begin with. To be fair though, the current residents then probably could have been more willing to negotiate.

Another example worth noting are the Salem Witch Trials during the American Colonial era. Though blood didn't eventually cover fields, blood was shed out of fear of something. Rational or otherwise, I have no clue.

On the flip side of it all, Islam can be blamed in part for a number of terrorist attacks. Notably, September 11 comes to mind, as does the Madrid events.

In truth, Barack Hussein Obama comes from two very opposing backgrounds that have a fairly long history of violence, hatred, fear, amongst others, yet has the possiblity of doing good things. That does not mean however that I believe he is capable of becoming a President of the United States, if only because America has not and may not ever relieve itself of the fear or dislike of the Muslim community. It will never completely disappear, and perhaps rightfully so, but by the same token, terrorists won't just be muslims. Anyone remember the Oklahoma City bombing?

As long as the effects from the Treaty of Versailles can be felt, and as long as America keeps policing the world, there will be those who will hate America, simply because it appears its military is persecuting one group or another, or from our policies regarding other nations. It is not entirely proper to persecute one person for the actions of many, especially since some of the blame can be laid at the rest of the multitude belonging to the free nations who ignore others' problems simply because they are not their own. Yet, one needs to always be aware of everything.

But who can say with things unwritten? The future is always cloudy at best. Maybe in the far future we can look to a peaceful future without hatred, fear and violence. But, we will not get to see it. Nor will our children for that matter. Our distant descendants might, but, we must prepare the way first.

I will end by simply saying: To those who still hide behind weapons of fear and hatred, in the end, your fear and hatred will be for nought, and you will have wasted time you could have been spending bettering everyone. Instead, you chose to hide in hatred, fear, and darkness. What will you do once you realize the futility of your hatred? In the end, you will only feel tired, and not better. Maybe for a short while. But in the long run? Not likely. Come before the light of peace, and harmony, and bask in its everlasting glow, see what paradise truly is.

So it's ok for you to make a politically charged topic but talking about Israel is bad because it might offend people because this board has people from all over the world who just might be offended.

People are nice.

I'm not Matt.

I didn't lock that topic.

I don't like locking topics or deleting post unless people are taking cheap shots at other people.

We can talk nice and be friendly with one another.

Learn to take things with a grain of salt.

Anything uncalled for will be handled by the "mods".

I woulda caught this sooner, but I've been sick for the last 6 days, and it's been taking it's toll on me >_<

Just to clear soemthing up, I am STILL very against political/religious threads on ANY forum I run. But as James said, we're giving it a bit of a shot, so the new guidlines can be better defined.

But of course, as Admin, we have the power to change any rules we make, at anytime. So we may allow it for now... but that could change in an hour depending on posts by members.

( that being said, Religious topics will be watched more, since they are usually the worst out of the two topics)

since you all seem so eager to talk shop. who here has a problem with Americans?

one is curious.

For example. See how easy they can pop up?

This post is one of those that can, and will get a topic locked in the future. It isn't a well thought out political question about the topic at hand, nor is it even respectful to the people in question.

This the internet folks. We are very much an international forum. We will NOT tolerate such ignorent, and plainly stupid questions like this. This is why topics like this weren't allowed before.

Remember, this forum is based on a Fanfiction of an Anime/Manga. Nothing more. We allow disscussion of outside topics, to promote community... but as soon as it becomes "Anti-fun", it's done.

Now to "answer" the question...

To put it bluntly, I don't have a problem with any Nation, or race. I have problems with specific PEOPLE from certain countries and races... but anyone who lables an entire country, or the entire people of said country, just proves how ignorent they are of world events, and should not be posting in such topics to begin with.

But back on topic now folks.

Will made this a topic about possible upcoming Presidential cannidate Barack Hussein Obama.

I agree. Lets try to stay on topic, or at least close to the topic at hand.

I hate Americans.

Maybe hate is too strong of a word.

I dislike the way we do business in the rest of the world.

I dispise the fact that the majority of our nation is nothing more than simplitons without the ability to see the big picture.

But yeah. Lets keep on topic.

And I edited your post because it was in bad taste.

One of those pop shots I mentioned earlier.

Keep it clean, keep it fun. Run with it. Be serious if you can get away with it.

Oh yeah, and I'm glad to see so much activity on this board.

People seem to place a lot of emphasis on his religion as well, and i think thats going to be a major topic of discussion with most americans. Since i'm originally from tha deep south (caribbean) but livin in the states now, we notice that america went from a long history of encorporating religion in nearly everything to some people declaring they arent religious and then making protests against others that strongly stick to their roots and beliefs (mild example; trying to band prayers in school). Now there is Presidential candidate who just happens to have a muslim background and America still have prejudice against all muslims because of the radicals and their actions (as we well know) who don't represent what the religion is truly about.

It's more the religion is being feared and not the man.

I found out the story was reported by a small conservative magazine. They’re not claiming that the story is true. That wasn’t what their piece was about. Their piece claimed that this was uncovered by Hillary Clinton’s team, and they would leak it out later in the year to discredit Obama. They say the sources came from within Clinton’s camp.

Of course CNN debunked it as Obama is their poster boy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not for or against one party, and I actually like Obama, but CNN has been hyping him for months now.

I can’t wait until the election gets closer, things are only going to get crazier. Should be fun.

But seriously though the constitution of the united states clearly states that there should be seperation of church and state, yet these last 2 elections starting with Bush. Man why can't things go back to the way they were when the most important issue of a candidate was there take on a abortion. Man this country is seriously messed up, but then again I live here so I guess all I can do is wait to get that job offer with viz media that I've always dreamed of so I can move to Canada. Now there's a country.

A country with about a tenth the population.

The way someone believes can dictate the choices they might make in office.

Someone with the beliefs of Christianity would have a different moral structure than someone with the Muslim beliefs.

It comes down to the issue of morality with me. They're politicians though. Meaning you can't trust a thing they say edgewise.

The reason I thought this was funny in the first place is because it seemed this guy was trying to come off as a Christian instead of a Muslim. His heritage is Muslim.

Though someone made the comment that people convert everyday, the way a person was raised tells a lot about them.

American's have a certain distaste for Muslims because of the fact that the Muslim nations of the world want to see us wiped off the face of the planet. They hate us for many reasons, the most recent of which would spawn from our recognizing the nation state of Israel 60 or so years ago.

Do we really need a president that represents our worst enemies in the world?

Do you think he'd side with them over us?

These are questions one has to ask.

Personally I'm going towards the way of Hillary Clinton because it means that Bill is going to be back in the White House.

Man why can't things go back to the way they were when the most important issue of a candidate was there take on a abortion.

Because the world is in a state of change Largo, and when the world starts to change big things are required. A new generation of politicians will take their respective seats of power in the near future and that generation will be those that have suffered under the hands of their various governments and they will face two choices.

1... To right the wrongs set forth by the old politicians and create a new path, learning from the mistakes of their predesessors.

or

2... They continue the cycle of choas, confusion and the mistakes of the old become the mistakes of the new, meaning that another generation will be required in another 50 or 70 years.

Since the beginning of 2000, the has been an obvious increase in "bad stuff" around the world. This bad stuff will continue to happen for a while in wholesale, I say for another ten years at least, but it things will go back to relatively normal pace

Posted (edited)

"Bad Stuff" Have been prevalent in this world since the dawn of man kind and the first time female kind was raped. Or you could go well before that and recall the big rock falling out of the sky and wiping out... What was it? Over 90 percent of the Earth's species?

It's just as of late that the main western world has been pulled full force into these "Bad Stuff".

I mean even World War 2's accounts of genocide are almost nothing compared to what's gone on since in Africa and Asia. We just don't pay that much attention to it.

I do agree though, the old world politicians are starting to die off and be replaced by the post baby boomer society (at least in the USA!). Is this a good thing? Not always.

The concepts of right and wrong have changed drastically in the last 60 years. Those people who were raised by "The Greatest Generation" and before had a certain code of ethics that went beyond chivalry. They understood right from wrong and tried to make the world a better place when they could.

Sure you had your crooked politician running amuck here and there, but in general people looked out for one another. People tried to help one another. Today people are looking out for their retirement fund, and their next paycheck. We don't worry about the atrocities going on around the Globe until George Clooney comes along and ask us to stop genocide. Heck, we'd have never known, never cared, but since Clooney cares, the rest of the world has to.

Had anyone heard about Darfur before Clooney spoke of it? I hadn't. I still don't care. People kill each other. There's 6 billion, soon to be 6.5 billion, of us. We could stand to lose a few hundred million.

These people are fighting over general conflicts. There are only so many resources to go around. In nature, when a species becomes a burden to it's environment, nature cures the problem by letting the little creatures starve to death.

I know this is sort of off topic, but it still reflects on the main topic.

What do morals have to do with it? Are we really so blind to the world around us? This election doesn't come down to how a person believes, how they think, or even their political career. This might as well be the Oscars and we're letting Halle Berry win just because she's black... And well we haven't done that before.

I guess the real question you have to ask yourself is...

Should it be a woman, or a black man?
