hmmm..the self centredness comes from their belief in their own religion, therefore it is religion that is the problem. if it didnt exsist they couldnt believe in it. you dont tend to see religions other than the big 3 trying to impose there views on others or entering the whole' my religons better than yours' arguement. i do get your pissing farther point but i dont think you can compare sports with religion. one is just enjoyment? the other can be looking at yourself, the world and exsistance in a profound way and giving thanks to a higher entity, or at least its meant to be. the fact some people care more about sports than other things is sad in itself. aslo sports are not intertwined within world politics and law, which the main 3 religions are. to pit 1 religion against the other or to argue that one is better than the other is way beyond stupid. stupidty that causes stupid situations like the 2 given in this thread. stupidity that has given rise to pointless wars and countless deaths. which is why it enfuriates me. religion shouldnt be a free pass for humans to act like idiots towards eachother. essentially the pinacle of all religion is the same, its just these fundamentalist retards on all sides dont seem to realise that.

just to say, that i hope none of my posts seemed like an attack on ryuki as they wern't, i saw ryuki's post and really my distain for religion actually promted me to post, as i see it as the catalyst for many stupid events in the world. kind of bringing this back onto the original topic, forgetting how they were handled etc. as that just highlights, incompetance, idiocy and corruption, i just want to say that this kind of situation shows that people hide behind religion to do stupid things. matt gave a good analogy with the dog to the horse race. i could really expand on why religion is antiquated and more hassle than its worth, but this is more about how peoples lawful rights are now entangled with their religious beliefs / rights? we have people, in what would be seen as a certain faiths country, having their human rights infringed by the fact that they believe something different than the majoritys beliefs who set the laws up!?! what do we respect more peoples humanity or what they believe in????... its all a paradox, and forever will be until we end up destroying ourselves or just scrap the 3 main religions and start all over again.

i think you are treading on dangerous ground there ryuki... i do agree its his right to talk to whom he likes, but i presume the woman is in his constituency, if he doesnt want to serve the people who live in it then he should give up his job. really his aversion to speaking to that individual is like saying he doesnt want to speak to someone because they are black or chinese or asian or any race,creed,colour or culture that is different to his own - fair enough they could not change the fact they are racially different but she can neither help that she has been indoctrinated by a cultural (not strictly religious) custom that (in my opinion) demeans her humanity. it is his reaction that is the problem. if you were confronted by an alien that was so repulsive you felt like throwing up in its face you would sill have to be willing to reserve judgement until you knew its inner being, you would have to control your emotion over a superficial thing and concentrate on the spirit or'ghost' within the seemingly repulsive 'shell'...do you get my point??? i get you are coming at this from a law point of view, but going into that and looking at the reasons why we have this situation of political correctness etc. now, opens a big can of worms that i think is not worth getting into, especially to do with religion. and i really dont like talking about religion any more, as the majority of it sucks.

ah i see, i didnt recall it at the time... so you like to customize? making a closed unit remover?? can i see a dr.Balcus head aswell?? its funny, you would think all the effort max factory go to with the figures that they would make a working (opening/closing) weapon for the figure... well, at least its given you something to work on i have dabbled in customizing stuff but nothing major, or very complicated... the thought passed my mind to try n make guyver 1 into guyver 2F, but its just a silly idea, the body shape is way too different. it might be possible if you totally destroyed the figure and took the armour off n put it on a different frame i suppose, but it would be a lot of work... i just really hope max factory 1.plan to release more guyver figures 2. make a guyver 2f 3. bring guyver 2f out next! it would be cool.

well, id like to find that pdf wether it was book 1 2 or 3. google gives me nothing. i can find raws. i can find translations. i cant find full scanlations. and im far too not bothered to do it myself. i might have to insult viz or shonen by email until they release them translated

well i'd love to find the full scanlations, especially of book 3, im thinking that they might have all been translated for use of the naruto wikia's but not actually scanlated???? ... i found some of book 3 scanlated ,90pages, so maybe a third (it has 360 pages, 300 of which are data i think??), and also 30 pages of book 2, but the group/site where its from is/was very very disorganised... i really cant understand why a fan group hasnt done a full scanlation? this is Naruto gold!!! i cant believe the idiots at viz dont think this is worth translating? i dont buy or read the manga but i would buy this! i found the ''naruto offical fanbook'' by shonen, but looking at it on you tube it looks to be nothing like the data books scanlations of book 2 p28-29 and book 3 p28-29 NARUTO Character Official Data Book Hiden Sha no Sho

yeah. i agree. dishonourable and disrespectful, especially to someone who goes to the effort of speaking in rhymes!.. i cant support sasuke if hes truly going to take down konoha...i coudnt have cared less if Sasuke died in that episode, if i wasnt eating at the time i would have been jumping on the sofa routing for killer bee!!(should 29 year olds really get THIS excited at anime / 'cartoons'?? who cares!! ) thats twice Itachi's saved Sasuke now - he would have been dead without Amaterasu (and his Taka crew)

well holy s##t ...oh my dayz....OMFG i think i just watched two of the most awesome episodes of anything ever!! episodes 142 n 143 of Shippuuden .... the 8 tails Killerbee dude is the most freakin awesome character ever - ever - ever. the weirdness of the horned bull octopuss type bijuu thing aside... the guy raps (i like hip hop), he wields 8 freakin blades at the same time, he's hard as f**k and he looks cool..+ he knocked the s##t and organs out of Sasuke. really that fight was AWESOME. this really makes me wanna learn japanese, save up for a ticket to fly to japan, then somehow find and high five Masashi Kishimoto...(then go n high five all the studio that animated it). he cant get rid of such an awesome character, he just cant (and if he does or not dont tell me please as i havent got past these episodes!) i just had to say how completely and utterly DOPE those episodes are!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Ryuki. im not sure how long ive popped in n out of the site but i only just found this whole blog section!??! anyway reading your post above i just wanted to tell you about one of my friends. he went to Thailand to do his CELTA in a month intensive course (or something ridiculous like that, why Thailand? basically he hates England ...) anyways ,he failed it. but he is currently in Taichung teaching english. i think the experience he gained from doing the course stood him in good stead for that job. what im trying to say is you may not actually need the cert to get a job. so if you were worried about going ahead and doing the course and maybe wasting £1000 if you didnt pass then dont, because 1. you'll probably pass anyway and 2. if you dont pass you will have valuable experience from that course. now im guessing you want to teach in Japan? so i would think they are a bit more strict than Taiwan with regards to certs etc. but if its something you really want to do youve got to bite the bullet as they say. Even if you didn’t end up in japan at first you could make your way there eventually? Anyway good luck with whatever you do dude

the dragonballs were obviously Toriyamas main creation point for the story but they soon fall by the way side and end up being a plot device in certain situations. soon you will get to Gokus training with Roshi and the Budokai fighting tournement which may get you more interested. ive loved DBZ as long as Guyver -i wont go into in depth details of my anime history again at this time- but i ended up seeing DBZ b4 DB, i think many people did. i like DBZ better than DB but still like DB, but in your position i think you cant watch Z or Kai without first watching DB. it would be rude not too. and really its how it should be watched!! although your manners towards anime is really none of my buisness!!

just to echo what durendal and vguyver have said- dragonball is not emotionally involved . really its action. it starts off as action comedy but as it gets towards the end it kind of trails off and as you get into Z the comedy is more or less dropped. there are a few 'emotional' parts in the story, certain events on namek for example, but nothing as involved as naruto at all. i think dragonball was enthused about as you mentioned it in your first post of the thread and it is long running, certainly not because it was like naruto... as you said yourself in the naruto thread -other anime is lesser than Naruto. DB is more light hearted and is really about Goku growing up and overcoming anything in his way be it a large dinosaur or the most powerfull evil being in the universe, he does it for good and with a smile in his heart,with his friends in tow.

if it was that long ago it was probably the film. the ovas you are thinking of arent oavs, it was probably the tv series episodes they released on video english dubbed a bit later on. they only ever released about 20 something episodes - they didnt even finish the first story arc!! - idiots. the FONTS film is really a film version summing up the first half of Hokuto No Ken 1 tv series with better animation, then in the tv series the long arc finishes and then we get HNK2. theres 152 eps all together. yeah its slightly dated but like you say- it is a classic. its's dope. heart of madness did a fan sub version, the first version i watched was a hong kong sub version which was cool, but y'know chinglish is sometimes not the best. btw nice clip Durendal, i dont know why those bad guys dont just run the other way when the see ken coming!!

heres two pence with an eether logo on...if you're going to watch Z or Kai you have to watch dragonball first, its that simple ... yeah its not as badass as Z but is still a cool contained series within itself, and you get to see the original relationships of the z fighters. from what i can remember its pretty faithful to the manga. its all good. also mainly because i havent watched any other long anime series and i love it you gotta watch hokuto no ken. so there. its 150 odd episodes. i say if there wasnt any db or hnk there'd be no naruto ( humour, ki n crazy charas from db and drama n varied intricate fighting styles fom hnk- only my opinion). and while im mentioning fighting anime, if you havent seen it, check out Baki the grappler too - even though its realtively short 42 eps i think, its badass. its everything a fighting manga/anime should be.

i agree some manga are very unclear in the action in them,ive never seen the naruto manga so can not judge... im planning on doing my own story at some stage and i want to make it as clear as possible whats going on,i suppose its easier said than done though. just wanted to say i really liked the 3rd movie but for some reason i cant put my finger on, it didnt seem quiiiiite as good as the last 2 to me, even if they were recycled formulae. i enjoyed the fact that it tied back into the series unlike the other 2 and that they used the main young crew for the mission so we got to see them in action... even gara. but as bad as the bad dude was he just didnt seem so - bad, and i dont mean because of the message of the film, but his oh so badass powers didnt really get used much. i guess i like naruto going toe to toe with the baddies too much and see the films as an exscuse for that... well i believe shippuuden movie 4's coming so we can see what thats like next year. im not sure but i think everyones ahead of me in the story now, (i daren't check above incase i get spoilers so i'll leave this thread a while...keep enjoying the show dattebayo!

killing (main)characters despite how much the audience has attached emotion to them is a brave move in any story especially in a series like Naruto, yes some characters are more important than others but it seems that Narutro is more than Uzamaki himself , the sum parts of this series does create an overall greater whole and if too many parts were to go it wouldnt be as good - in some cases i think narutos creator is too brutal! but then again just another reason why its so damn good. i tried watching bleach when they aired it on a manga channel on satellite in the uk (Which exsisited for not very long) and it seamed a little.. meh, to me, i understand its quite popular but it didnt grab me. its funny you mentioned about the violence vguyver,in the beginning of mangas mainstream emergence in the west, it seemed as if the japanese were bloodthirsty crazies until you find out about all the different genres of manga i'll admit that the violence used to be an attracting factor for me i think its ingrained in us through action shows and films that we thought were cool as we grew up and the ultraviolence in anime just seemed even cooler! but nowadays im not into that ultaviolence (despite loving HNK and Baki), i dont need to see dismemberments/ disembowelments/ decapitations to have a good time good point, im not sure that america or europe could ever do as good as what japan produces even in marvel/d.c.they come from two different cultures, and if they did it will be because its been influenvced by the kids nowadays who are growing up with stuff like naruto. speaking of morals i understand the morals are interwoven in the plot more subtly in naruto etc but you have to give it to the American n european shows such as He-Man and Thundercats, where they had morals - they were blatantly in your face, but at least they were there!i still think that those were awesome shows. i reckon that if 90's kids had 80's cartoons society wouldnt be quite so bad now, biggest thing they had was TMNT for f's sake catmen n catwomen in pants could be all our moral saviours!

first thanks for covering up spoilers ive still only seen up to 133 gonna watch movie 3 then continue sometime soon - though im catching up too fast for my liking only 27 episodes in hand preach it brother!!!! it is different from any other anime ive seen... when choji took on that shinobi himself it killed it for me (which means its good if im being obscure)its like - can this show get any doper??? and the answer was a resounding yes! the fighting styles, the characters the emotional content,it just got better and better in so many ways along the way...even the incidental music and theme music - Bacchikoi , Bacchikoi baby -yeah!- yeah! brutal but most probably true - truth told i dont follow other anime or much manga anymore - cant be bothered, so i didnt really have a gauge against other modern anime ( i mean kind of post samurai champloo- awesome btw) so i was thinking do i think this is one of the greatest anime ever because i havent been watching other stuff , has other anime got this good?? its nice to hear someone else bigging up naruto for being something 'special'...well it is to me anyway... i love Takaya for Guyver but aslo a big thanks to Masashi Kishimoto!!!
