Oh god red light, maybe I'll do that on my next lineart. This project has been a lot of fun so far and in less than 3 days using the tablet I'm so much better. So much better at using I mean Tonal detail is a term I kind of make up to explain using shades to show depth and add more degrees of realism. You know, shadows and highlights on the face to show 3D on the figure and whatnot Oh yeah, and let me all know what you guys think of my shade-work on guyver 1 so far:

Did anyone notice the order the strawhats arrived in? Its the same order Kuma vanished them in Oh yeah and it looks like Luffy vs Sentamaru Rd 2 will come sooner than we think

Sorry dude, I wasn't trying to be aggressive or anything. That's the problem with text on the web I guess As far as parameters goes: Any size, any subject matter, just color the image with full tonal detail. Really its just a basic exercise on layering, brushes, and tones in photoshop.

Its a project for class dude. We take a lineart from someone online or draw one yourself and color it in. I found this trio of guyvers that was awesome and I used the colors from the guyver 2005 anime as a base. Some of the anime's colors were a little weird so I tweaked them slightly. Mostly guyver 3's colors were too black so I lightened him up to make a blue violet. The shadow and highlight colors were manipulated from the base colors rather than just using Dodge and Burn. I liked the 2005 anime's colors because they had a darker tone to them. Namely guyver's 2 and 3 were darker. I mean its not like I'm making this for a client or anything so I don't really have a design brief.

My brief? Umm not sure what you're asking dude Well I take my color's straight from the 2005 anime. I have screenshots and stuff of all three guyvers so I get my base colors, shadows, and highlights all from certain scenes. If that's what you're asking

Genstealers are the tyranid's strong shock troops that in-game are very deadly in close combat. (Both high WS and Init values along with 3 attacks per charge and rending ) I'm not sure what you're thinking the screamers are (cause there is a unit called screamers) but there's nothing called screamers in my army So anyway, I have to complete this project by monday. And in the spirit of things, I changed my idea; so this is what I've got so far (I cut the size in half for you guys):

Yeah I'm a Tyranid player (you know those things Blizzard ripped off to make the entire Zerg race) Been playing 40k for almost 10yrs now Well, I don't mind the size while I'm coloring it, but when I hand it in, I'll resize it of course. I think if you resize just the lineart without color then the image won't be distorted too much. At least the distortion should be negligible.

Yeah I have to still shade and highlight it. The Background is not important to the pic at all, but I wanted to give it some atmosphere and thought that desolate rocky ridge would fit nicely. The workload is building up atm, so I won't be getting to the guyver lineart this week, but hopefully soon. I have one of Caerleon that I photoshopped off the datafile that I want to work on as well. Its a static pose but I like his design so much and give it a try.

I have Phototshop CS4 atm, but my school offers the CS5 upgrade for $25 so I may invest in that. Odin you can make a lineart drawing if you still want to, but I went and got a different image for the assignment. I'd still love to do both the image I have posted and whatever picture you make. If you could do something featuring both guyver 1 and 2 that would be great. Guyver 1 was always my favorite guyver but I instantly fell in love with guyver 2's face. Call me weird but that asymmetrical vocal orb and respirator design is just awesome. -OR- Something with the guyver gigantic. Normal or Exceed, neither matters, just if you're going to toss in a bg, if you could make it simple that would be great. I'm more of a character artist at heart, and bg's have never been a strong suit for me I'm afraid [emote=onion]gone[/emote] And of course you can use whatever pics you want larz! With that said, no you can't use these pics larz! By order of royal BananaFlavored decree I forbid it. How do you like that For those wondering, I went with this for my project: For those not familiar with it, this is an Eldar Guardian from the Warhammer 40k tabletop game. Its basically the normal foot soldier for "Space Elves". I always liked their armor design. Its still not finished yet, I need to add in shadows and highlights

Well c'mon, its zoro; he has to beat Sanji in everything. What I want to see is who the new Fleet Admiral is, because I remember Sengoku recommend Aokiji, but no one mentioned his name. I wonder if it maybe Akainu? You know a new aggressive face to take down Blackbeard and the new era of pirates

"Fluffy's" crew just looks like an epic fail...their version of chopper was just too stupid with that mustache

I imagine Luffy will just look at Fat Luffy and FL will just fall down...and then luffy will don the old hat and meet the crew

So I have to color a line art drawing for my compositing class and I want to do one with the guyver in it. Problem is I can't find really an good line art featuring the guyver. If any of you guys has knows where I can find some or perhaps have a lineart drawing featuring the guyver that you'd be willing to let me use, then I'd greatly appreciate it. So far the best one I've found it this one: (The picture is rather big)

Wow, not sure I like Franky's new look but everyone else looks cool. I'm sure everything will work out but its good to see One Piece still has a lot of life planned ahead for it.

Yeah there's a trailer for it like every 10 minutes down here. C'mon its just facebook, its not like you invented something that matters. I understand that making this website was controversial, but it doesn't mean you need to make a movie that over exaggerates the creation of a social network site. Its like making a movie on how google was made. No one cares how something like google or facebook was made, we just care that its there. Sure its an interesting story, but is it really worth watching some annoying teenagers whine about for two hours what you could've looked up on wikipedia in 5 minutes. Not to mention it'll cost you almost $15 just to get the ticket

I think they'll learn the attack form of haki since of the 3 types, its the most often used. Only the real strong guys like Aokiji use the defense haki as demonstrated against Whitebeard. Although I can't confirm if what I just said is true though since Aokiji could've just used his Logia defense powers like Kizaru can.

Well we can't say anything as far as Mihawk and haki. We have to remember that Mihawk has never been shown on camera doing a haki slash. During the battle at the summit Mihawk tried to slash a paramecia type DF user (Whitebeard and Luffy), so haki wasn't needed to slice him. So when Jose blocked the slash, it didn't pierce him, but it might have if Mihawk tossed haki into it. You don't think the greatest swordsman in the world can't use haki? Even Whitebeard's division commanders could use haki to a small form, Mihawk is one of the strongest Shichibukai... Now I agree Mihawk probably wouldn't teach Zoro haki, but he will give him the skills necessary to learn it in the new world. Finally, as much as I love him, I don't think Ivankov can teach Sanji haki. Ivankov's main form of attack is his "Wink" style attacks which are primarily air cannons similar to Franky's coup de vent. Against all of the non-solid DF users like Magellan, his attacks were merely a means to buy time and force the enemy back via large force. Although now that I think about it more, this could be haki...alright maybe Sanji can learn haki kicks from Ivankov...

I think my favorite was when Duval told the Strawhats his sad story of mistaken identity. A close second is when Luffy is right at the edge of Impel Down looking for a way to escape when Ivankov's giant head bursts underneath them. The look on Ivankov's face was priceless. I loved Ivankov and am very sad he had to leave. As for other scenes, I have a bunch of favorites. 1st would be during Luffy vs Crocodile Round3; when Luffy slams his stretched fist into crocodile's head and slams him into the stone floor. 2nd would be the Shishi Sonson that Zoro did to damage Kuma (by far one of zoro's most epic moments EVER) 3rd would be when Luffy crashed over the Marines' wall and prepared to face the three admirals by himself 4th would be when Luffy punched Blackbeard. PWNED!

I think it would be funny as hell to see a pasifita attack the strawhats and Franky load Brooke into an arm mounted missile launcher and fire Brooke right through the pasifista like a super fast light-weight rocket! "Suuuuper Franky Skelemissile Launcher 2000!" GO!!!!

I think Sabo is something Ace and Luffy never told anyone about because he brought up such a painful memory. I think Oda only introduced him to help us understand just why and how strong the bond between Luffy and Ace really is. To add more to Sabo's story might diminish the importace of his character. I think Law just respected Luffy's courage and power and saved him for the same reason. Either that or its repayment for keeping Kizaru off his back at Shabondy. I didn't think of the Strawhats having to fight Kuma off the bat. Although I think if anyone should fight Kuma it should be zoro. The next test of his sword skills would be to take down a Shichibukai.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Luffy and Doflamingo never actually fight each other. I can see the two maybe confronting each other and Doflamingo spouting garbage about his New Era and just like he did to Bellamy, Luffy clocks Doflamingo in the face, and tells him something about how Doflamingo only puts down the dreams of others because he can't achieve his own. I had another idea of Doflamingo controlling Luffy's friends as a means to fight him like he does in one of the One Piece video games, but two don't seem to have much to hate each other for. Doflamingo is too caught up in his own agendas to care about Luffy, even though Luffy has mettled in two of Doflamingos affairs. It would be cool if the Strawhats land on an island in the New World that happens to be Doflamingo's HQ. I think after the Battle at the Summit, Oda Sensei has made Blackbeard Luffy #1 nemesis, even though Akainu actually killed Ace. Remember it was Blackbeard that set the war in motion and caused Ace's and Whitebeard's deaths. He's trying to get in Luffy's way and be the Pirate King first. (Well actually I think he wants to rule the world but as Pirate King you probably do rule the world. I'd really love to see Luffy vs Shanks over who gets to keep the Strawhat. You don't get to see the battle you just see a series of destroyed islands, the two friends covered in bruises and blood, and they burst into laughter after collapsing. And after their long battle, Shanks tells Luffy the hat is his symbol and its helped make him the Pirate King he set out to be. Awww, touching moment. As for who they test their powers on...I think one of the Supernovas is wishful thinking. IMO the strawhats can beat any of the Supernovas, including Law and Kid. Most of the Supernovas have weak crews and rely on Captain strength and the only ones with real crews like Luffy's is Kid and Law. Luffy has a debt to repay with Law so I don't see a conflict between the two. Law risked his life to save Luffy, and even though he won't admit it, he must have some sort or respect for Luffy to risk his life the way he did. Kid however seems agitated with Luffy and is the most likely candidate to fight Luffy. However Kids powers don't seem as developed as Luffy's and Luffy's gear system can probably shred Kid apart. I say Oda sensei will have the strawhats face off against some pirates at Shabondy to test their new powers out. However one thing bothers me...when did Kuma go back to Shabondy and the Rosey Life Riders took arms against him? I can't find the chapter. I know its after Rayleigh left for Amazon Lily since only Shakky and Duval are the only one's present...but I don't know what chapter that is. I don't even remember reading it. It has Kuma looming over the Thousand Sunny as his full PX-0 state (No longer Kuma) and the Rosey Life Riders are all freaking out about his presence. Shakky then comments on how they shouldn't worry.
