  1. In other words, we just went in one really big circle, didn't we? Yeah, but I was also talking in the CM's equivelant of binary storage, not just the physical regeneration. But, so long as there is some form of DNA left, then you'll 'remember?'
  2. Granted some of the wording was a bit difficult, I enjoyed it. It has a good tone to it. It's definitely aptly titled as was mentioned. And it's interesting as well. I do hope to see more though. "Never think too low of yourself, or you'll never get to do much. Never think too much of yourself either, or your liable to be humiliated alot."
  3. Yeah, Every country does have its problems true, but the US's list seems to be growing, and nothing is getting done about problem number 1 first. I mean, there are like several hundred steps getting each solved, minor or major. You've got to start at step one, not step 589. Hear hear! People tend to ignore what they don't like though. Everywhere that's a problem. The more freer a society, the more problematic that is. In a Utopian state, a greedy kid could end up taking over, hardly anyone would do something about it. Heh, well, I was told that you should do what you think needs to be done, 'cause regardless, one third will love you to death, a third will riot against you, and a third will stick their heads in the sand. And, Zeo, there haven't been any great examples since before the Cold War really took off! Probably. He might not make it passed Super Tuesday if he can't get in gear in time. The problem to me is that it's party politics combined with national politics. You can't really run on your beliefs if say, your borderline Dem/Rep. And I mean right in the middle on some issues. Key issues, ie abortion, the war in Iraq, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I mean, really, if you are Republican based on say monetary issues, but Democratic on Social issues, where the hell do you go? My one main irk is that. I have a hard time deciding at times, but that's only because I need to know more than what I'm usually given. And as an unknown, you're throwing yourselves to the dogs if you can't litterally shove your message out there. Personally, I agree, it's hard to make a decision on Obama without more. I'm one of those that hates making decisions halfway ****ed and ready to go, or on the fly. It's a bad way to go. Not if the oil industry has anything to say about it, they won't. I partially blame the oil nations on the fact that reewable energy sources caren't available yet. I also blame the politicians who take kick backs to make it happen. With the amount spent in lobbying for oil, we could've had two or three viable renewable fuel sources. And I'm not talking just solar, or feul cells. Or even ethanol for that matter (just think, to fill your tank all you have to do is go to the store and buy a 12 pack of beer). Yeah right. I mean there are other sources, but we really haven't spent the time on them. Not like what with weapons or the space program in the 1960's. You realize that at the pace NASA was working during the Mercury-Gemini-Apollo days that they were literally making giant leaps in technology? At the pace we were going then, we probably would have been all ready on the way to Mars, and not just waiting. After Apollo-Soyuz event, it really slowed to a bleeding crawl. The rate of advancement during Apollo was like four time what it is now. Thirty plus years and we still haven't done a dang thing with renewable resources, because we've been worried about COMMUNISM for crying out loud! Our leaders then were still working under the ways of World War II! And Zeo, it's always been "damned if you do, damned if you don't" with the US. Granted, sometimes we did do an idiotic thing that we did earn the scorn for, but, it's always been that way, and it always will. You can't really apply the label you would on a radical Muslim to everyone. It's not how it works. Every party, every nation, every rgoup, every rule will have exceptions, oddballs, radicals, and the like. You apply a label across the board so to speak, you're setting yuorself up for a really big heartbreak. And really, it's not so much that we're riding a handbasket to hell, it's that the handle's been broken, and we're freefalling our way down. It's not the fall that'll kill us, it'll be the sudden stop at the bottom. And it's a LOOONNNNGGGG way down.
  4. Heh, yeah, it does appear they're getting ready to take the war to space. (cue Star Wars Theme) Well, and it's not just that either. I mean, it's not even entirely about that. I mean, exactly what is "good"? What exactly is "evil"? For the most part, it's perspective. I mean, yeah, there are some generally accepted things that are labeled "evil" or "good". But, even then, it's not entirely correct. Also, there are no absolutes. There is never a clear cut line on these things either. In some ways, what Makishima's doing could be considered "evil". Yeah, Chronos does have the right picture, clear cut and everything, but their methods leave something to be desired in terms of enlistment. It's more of a "draft" and "re-education" even if some of it is voluntary. On the flip side, Sho doesn't necessarily understand everything that will happen in the long run, he does have an idea of how to get what he wants. Again, not everything is clear cut, and not everything is flat out naked for everyone to see either. Also, on some level, you would have to think that revenge would be part of Alkanphel's agenda against the Creators too. Expecially for all intents and purposes, they kind left him there to rot. Think about it this way: "An island looks different from different angles, yet there are still things unseen from afar." But even then, you can't get too close either. You have to have an idea of the whole picture, but still be concerned over everyone's health to a degree. What that degree is is difficult to know. The situation is a bit hazy from all angles anyways. Right now in the WG Universe, there is an incredibly delicate balance of the forces on Earth. The canon verse is a little bit more clear, but not by much. And aside from that, you don't really know what will happen next. You might think you know, but you don't really know, do you? To some degree it comes down to picking either little freedom, but insurance that no one is poor, or complete freedom (anarchy) and no assurance that you aren't going to be poor. But you star tossing in the other variables, and things get very difficult to decide, very quickly. But, and also, I meant to address this before, but Chronos isn't just another company. Not in the slightest. When you seiously begin to think about it, in the canon, there are two major players: Chronos being the biggest, and then Zeus Thunderbolt. In the WG: Chronos followed by the ACTF and its different jurisdictions (I'm lumping in the Canadian division in it too along with the old EDF), and finally on a relatively tiny scale, everyone else who fights (ie the Rogues). As the top player, Chronos can't pretend to be just another company, It's all ready passed X-Day. It's too late for subtleties and stealth. Now you have to begin to pull out the big guns. And I mean it literally and figuratively. You can't simply win a war by sitting on your ass. Pretending in war won't get you anywhere except dead. You can't simply choose a side. There are, after all, effects that will cascade from your decision. And really, in the conflict, there really isn't a right or wrong side, if you look objectively.
  5. Even then, there will be slow periods. Would you combine the slow boards then too? If you did that, in the long run, you'd have only one general board. But, for now, for all intents and purposes, it doesn't look like there has been a relatively large change given that there is an average of one topic being replied to one every board in the last week or so. Over a longer period, yes, it would appear slower, but still, that doesn't necessarily advocate for a major change like you're talking about. Now, if say, there was only one post on this board per every two weeks for say, a year, then yes, that would be sufficient need to add it back into another board. But, as it is, there really isn't sufficient evidence or reason to move the board.
  6. JEEZ! What are you, a psychologist, or a neurologist? That was...longwinded. Um, okay, I'll take your word for it. But, my point was, the same general functions remain constant. So, even if you do "die" wouldn't the thought processes, memories and the like be stored somewhere? I mean, wouldn't the CM have to have a copy of everything about you since you are bonding to the Unit? There would have to be an exchange of information right? I mean the host might unknowingly get information on the different weapons and functions, and the medal would get the host's DNA, thought processes, memories and like like, right? Wouldn't there have to be the information inside to make a complete clone? Or would when you get regenerated, you'd have to relearn everything? To say that it doesn't contain a copy of everything about you, but you still properly function means that either a) there is another part of us that we can't see, or more theoretically likely b) there's another device somewhere within that makes a copy. But that still presents problems, doesn't it? It's confusing.
  7. Definitely WG man! What, are you seriously asking me this?? WG hands down, blindfolded, deaf, backwards, upside down, inside out, and any other really twisted ways I can say it. And they're right, it is your legacy. I do believe you'll leave a huge footprint, no matter which direction you'll turn. Besides, would you reallt be that cruel and leave us wondering after you've left? I know time tends to be an issue, but, I seriously doubt many people could put quite the touches into it you have. And many of those probably haven't even looked at Guyver yet. Largo, there's insane, prodigy, and I'm-absolutely-out-of-my-god-forsaken-mind-because-it's-really-interesting insane. I think you meant the long hyphenated one. Besides, is it really such a bad thing if you want to catch up?
  8. For me, well, that's actually a bit difficult. Actually, no it's not. I'd do be damnedest to stay out of the conflict period. I'm a pacifist at heart. Granted, I know there are occasions you kind of have to go to war. I'm one of those who'll stay out of it until I'm forced to, me kicking, biting, fighting, and dragging my feet all the way. Like I said, I'm a bit of a pacifist at heart. IF that were not a choice, it would heavily depend if we're talking canon, or the WG universe, or another all together. No, seriously, it really does make a difference. For the WG universe, I suppose I would go against Chronos. Partially because of all the really interesting units are on the ACTF side (;m not saying which ones!). I'm not kidding, either. Granted, aiming to be Guyver might be a bit high, but still even then, there's the other armors to think about too. Plus somebody's got to engineer the damn things. Canon, I would still try to maintain neutrality. But, if Chronos had sent out a notice requesting Proto-Zoalord or full Zoalord candidates, I'd jump on in a heartbeat. Their ideas may be good, but their implementation needs some serious work for me to willing jump before that. Anything else, you'd have to give me a breakdown of the universe, and how the events differ from the canon. Like I said, I'm a pacifist. But, I'll fight if I have to.
  9. It needs to remain the same. I agree that it's slow now, but it will eventually pick up again. But, in the meantime, don't worry or think about it too much. You might hurt your head. And at any rate, if there is something that someone finds interesting that crops up that belongs here, you'll know. So, relax, and just enjoy the scenery and show. Flow with the current, and all of that. At any rate, does it truly matter? Everything has their peaks and lows. Like I said, don't worry, be happy, and roll with the punches life tosses out. It may be surprising what being relaxed about things you can't control will do for you. Human patterns and patterns of topics included. It's late and I really need to sleep.
  10. But, when you go to sleep, and wake up, isn't it like turning your computer on and off or on standby? I mean, it's not exactly like it, but when you sleep, most of the "non-vital" functions, ie sensory, thought patterns, "awareness" and the like are "turned off" so to speak. I mean, when you turn your computer on and off, it's still the same for the most part. As Twilight stated, we are who we are, and there is very little, if anything will change that. Our instincts are far too ingrained into us to do otherwise. But, also even though we cycle it throughout the day, there are certain functions that stay active as long as we are awake. Like concious thought. The cycling also may explain some of the mindwandering during the day, particularly when you're not doing too much.
  11. 1: Heck ya! Granted, your body may not be the same one as before, but with it being "rebuilt" even though it's a clone, it would theoretically be better sine the Unit is rebuilding the body to be better fit for the Unit, if it hasn't all ready done that during the initial bonding. But, as long as the CM ain't broken, ya, I'll go for it. End up kind of like a purely organic RoboCop. In seriousness, yeah. Life needs a bit of chili pepper once in a while, else it gets REALLY dull. 2. This gets into the whole idea souls, higher planes, higher beings, etc. I would say that as long as your DNA still resides somewhere on the unit and it can e regenerated, than it would mean that your original personality retains the same. So, as long as there is no tampering of the medal, there is not tampering of the personality. Really, the personality is sort of the result of all of your life experiences and your particular reactions to them, good or bad. So, this is a bit dicey. But, the idea of a clone isn't new, and really, as long as a part of you survives (doesn't matter which part), then you'll remain the same.
  12. But, see the thing about his religion is that they both are quite violent (historically or otherwise), and are not exactly opposites, but still. Anyway, it is important to remember seperation of Church and State, but, sometimes the issue does come up in politics. Like JFK. They were worried about him because he was Catholic, and they are supposed to follow the Pope. But if he does run, people aren't going to look at just his religion. It'll be about race, ethnics, and anything else to compare him against his opponents. It's like a group of adults playing in a big mudpile, flinging dirt everywhere. Sad really. But, really, if it comes down to say a white women, and a black man, who do you pick? And your choice, is it based on the background and looks, or is it based on the platform? If it is based on looks (gender, race, color, etc), which of the minority groups do you pick? Historically, presidents have been rich, white men. Again, it begs the question of what you base your decision on. And I agree, both parties are an annoyance more than anything. In Congress, I hardly think they get much done. There's the saying I've heard a few times that comes into play "If progress is the forward movement of things, does that make Congress it's opposite?" Personally, politics really needs to be based off of not the parties, but off the idea of your own ideals. Like me, if you were to categorize me as either Right or Left, I don't fit into either category perfectly. No one does. It's not a very good way of doing it. For me, all politics results in is a really big migraine that medicine doesn't really help solve. But, back to Obama. It really is interesting. Election 2008 for America will certainly be an interesting one, expecially as we begin to see the gearing up towards the end of this year.
  13. Perhaps yes, it could be seen as an ultimate form. Just as the difference between the W'Kar in the WG universe, and Anubis in the WOTG universe are alternate forms, it is very realistic, and quite accurate to say that Zagam would be an alternate form, I would think. I could be wrong. You could say that one form is Yin, while the other is Yang. Together, they would be a relatively stable balance, whose ideals and actions differ from the other form. In technical terms, the same type of thing happened with the difference of W'Kar and Anubis. Certain actions have certain outcomes. Changing or altering those actions will inevitably, and logically change those outcomes. It's not that balance is maintained, it's that logically, if a person is allied with say the ACTF in one universe, in a parallel universe, for whatever reason, would be allied against the ACTF. But, that's not certain, as the circumstances matter a great deal. But yes, Zagam, I think could be considered an ultimate form for Jason. The question then remains, what the alternate is. Ironically, it usually appears that when comparing two opposites of the same person, ie Jason and Zagam, the evil-aligned one has more power, but less reason to fight, and the good-aligned one has less power, sometimes not by very much, but has a very good reson to fight. Typically freedom, and freedom of choice. So, in an all out brawl, it sometimes is difficult to determine who would win, good or evil.
  14. Sort of backtracking, but though magic can be given as a term to a significantly advanced technology, magic can also be like a miracle, or even "true magic". Not like the hocus pocus stage magicians like Houdini pull, but magic. Things like what Merlin was famous for doing, or an elemental. But, if you could find a way to combine them so they would work in tandem, they would be much more powerful, and much more destructive in terms of weapons. Think, a machine gun that never ran out of ammo, an airplane that didn't require aviation fuel. Or even a living armor. But, also, Dreadnaught is powerful because he has to be. The world as it stands now in the WG universe, requires everyone to constantly adapt, to continuously change, and better themselves. It is an arms race, so to speak. A Cold War. If Jason hadn't upgraded then when facing a Zoalord, or a massive army of Zoanoids, he might not have survived the encounter, and at a later battle where his power or arrival was extremely pivotal or critical, then that battle would have been lost, and the effects keep cascading from there on. It would be comparable to say Japan not having bombed Pearl Harbor. It's not a great analogy, but it'll work. If the US hadn't entered WWII, then perhaps D-Day wouldn't have happened, or it would have failed spectacularly. France and Russia would have completely fallen to Hitler. Britain wouldn't have held out much longer with mainland Europe under the hand of Hitler. Italy would have then gone towards the African continent and Hitler would have developed the atomic bomb. This is only on the European front. On the Pacific side, every idland other than Hawaii, would have fallen, and then it too would have fallen under the Japanese military. By the time the US would have entered the war, maybe late 1943, early 1944, it would have been too late, and with fighting on both Eastern and Western Coastlines, America would have been divided neatly between Hitler and the Japanese Empire. Jason not having been enhanced, would be similar. The ACTF would have been in a much more desperate spot than they were before the rewrite had begun to take place. You also can't simply look at it in terms of power either. Experience, stamina, durability of the weapons, and the maintence of the weapons also place a role. Oh, and Sun Tzu's Art of War also would be handy right here too. Changing the effect or impact of one person can have cascading effects, that might in the end, cause an entirely different reality to exist. Another example of cascading effects --> the Treaty of Versailles. It was in effect the final catalyst for the horror we know as World War II. During the 1930's, though no one would have known it right after the end of the First World War, a world wide depression was taking place, not just in the US, but all over. If Wilson's Fourteen Points had had more of an impact, then perhaps Hitler wouldn't have risen as far as he did. That in turn would lead the Second World War not happening as it did percisely. I'm not deluded that it wouldn't have eventually happened, but there would be far more effects than even I care to think about. The effects of one person's abilities can affect an entire chain of events, and perhaps, if the chain is deep and long enough, then the entire fate of the would could be balanced on just one act, or just one word, or one person. It doesn't take much to alter history drastically. It's part of why in shows like Star Trek, you have things like the Prime Directive of not influencing the past, or rules of not interferring with the past. It's not whether he's too high to use, but whether he is to high to everyone in the story. We are simple observers. There is very little for us to influence as the observer. Think about it this way: which would you rather have, a very powerful Jason, or Chronos ruling the world?
  15. To be quite frank, and honestly, it's actually sort of ironic, in a really twisted and rather demonic and idiotic way. Historically speaking, many of the wars and conflicts fought were started by a faction or fanatic of Christianity. For example, the Crusades are a prime example. Fought against the residing Arabs in the area of that time for rights to visit Jeruselem, making pilgrimages to the area, war was fought in the supposed Holy Land, where there really shouldn't have been blood shed to begin with. To be fair though, the current residents then probably could have been more willing to negotiate. Another example worth noting are the Salem Witch Trials during the American Colonial era. Though blood didn't eventually cover fields, blood was shed out of fear of something. Rational or otherwise, I have no clue. On the flip side of it all, Islam can be blamed in part for a number of terrorist attacks. Notably, September 11 comes to mind, as does the Madrid events. In truth, Barack Hussein Obama comes from two very opposing backgrounds that have a fairly long history of violence, hatred, fear, amongst others, yet has the possiblity of doing good things. That does not mean however that I believe he is capable of becoming a President of the United States, if only because America has not and may not ever relieve itself of the fear or dislike of the Muslim community. It will never completely disappear, and perhaps rightfully so, but by the same token, terrorists won't just be muslims. Anyone remember the Oklahoma City bombing? As long as the effects from the Treaty of Versailles can be felt, and as long as America keeps policing the world, there will be those who will hate America, simply because it appears its military is persecuting one group or another, or from our policies regarding other nations. It is not entirely proper to persecute one person for the actions of many, especially since some of the blame can be laid at the rest of the multitude belonging to the free nations who ignore others' problems simply because they are not their own. Yet, one needs to always be aware of everything. But who can say with things unwritten? The future is always cloudy at best. Maybe in the far future we can look to a peaceful future without hatred, fear and violence. But, we will not get to see it. Nor will our children for that matter. Our distant descendants might, but, we must prepare the way first. I will end by simply saying: To those who still hide behind weapons of fear and hatred, in the end, your fear and hatred will be for nought, and you will have wasted time you could have been spending bettering everyone. Instead, you chose to hide in hatred, fear, and darkness. What will you do once you realize the futility of your hatred? In the end, you will only feel tired, and not better. Maybe for a short while. But in the long run? Not likely. Come before the light of peace, and harmony, and bask in its everlasting glow, see what paradise truly is.
  16. To speak of technology and magic as seperate entities would be correct and incorrect. They are of the same need, and the same desires, yet they function and operate differently. A person will not come from either one alone, but a tandem of their effort, will, determination, strength, experience, and their adaptability. Dreadnaught may appear to be very powerful, but as that world now, they live in a place where they must constantly adapt to survive. If they do not, they may very well die. Dreadnaught lives in a world where even the slightest shift in the balance of power could mean disaster for his side. They will fight, and fight, and fight, until they can fight no more. Then they will continue fighting, giving it all they have, because they understand that to fail means death, or enslavement. Chronos fights for power. The ACTF and their allies fight for freedom, and the ability to live. The desire to be free is perhaps the greatest of all drives, it is what fueled the American Revolution, it is what spurned the Allies in World War II. It is what drove the two sides of the Cold War. It too spurned the French Revolution. You have to understand, Jason has to be as strong as he is, because to be otherwise, means defeat, and possible annihalation. The human mind yearns for freedom, freedom from oppressors, and power. In some, hatred, fear and love also drive them to do things they might not otherwise consider doing. In certain worlds, both fiction and our real one, sometimes it is necessary to be stronger than others, because that and adapting is the only way to survive in some cases. If you were dumped in the middle of a large island with indigenous plant and animal life that you wouldn't recognize, would adapt. You would have to to survive. It is like that for the O'Connors, for Sean, for the ACTF. IN one day, they were thrown from a comfortable world, into a new world that they had to adapt to to survive. History has taught us a harsh and painful lesson, that we must adapt if we are to continue forward.
  17. Hmmm. Okay. Hmmm, then I'll start and then change it as needed. Anyway, I really don't know how long it'll take for me to get it all set up anyway. I'm working it in several stages, and parts. I've all ready got the prework done. Managed to do it in a couple of days. I'm just concerned. I'm going to be working on text based stuff first, and then the GUI. I'm trying to get it to looks similar to what you have now, just not as seperate pages. You'll understand eventually. If you have questions, by all means ask, I just may not be willing to provide too much info. But, it will be worth the wait. I hope anyway. EDIT: Uh, I also kinda will need as much about each of the people as well. I'm using the heights, weights, eye color, hair color, gender, and names for each of the Guyvers, and the Zoalords as well. Some of the info is missing in some of them obviously, it would be really helpful to get some of that stuff. I've gotten the nasics down, I just have to add the other information (durability, speed, etc.) I will be going word for word in the datafiles. Please, please, please make sure everything is right when you change them, and include as much about them as possible. Hopefully, the project I'm working on will only make it necessary to have one page for the datafiles, if not a whole new window. I've gotten the basics set and all ready to go. I just have to refine it and add everyone I haven't figured out how to add some of the things. Be patient.
  18. Okay, so I got really bored and decided to actually do something productive. Yeah, crazy world, ain't it? Anyway, I just need to know a few things, and please, more than one person answer, I need all the answers I can get at this point. So, I was bored, figured I'd actually see if I can't improve the databank of profiles (for the stories, not here) and am in the middle of making a few things. So, the big, multi-million dollar question is are the datafiles still accurate and/or up to date since the Chronicles are being rewritten? In other words, are the datafiles going to be added to, or changed in any way, shape, or form within the forseeable future? And, for those of you who are really interested in what I'm doing, you're going to have to wait. I know the suspense will probably kill you first, but, that's not my problem if you're out of shape is it?
  19. Well, each Unit is unique, right? So, if that is in fact the case, if the upgrade is tailored to a specific Unit ID pattern, whether composition, or DNA, or "fingerprint" as it were, then that Unit's modification unit would in fact be for it and ONLY for it. This is due to the fact that no two signatures are alike (that IS an ASSUMPTION). It's similar to the idea that you can ID a person by DNA, or fingerprint. HOWEVER, if more than one Unit are in fact identical to the other Unit(s), that is every unit is precisely like the next in every conceivable way, flaws included, then in fact every single Unit like the one it's tailored for will be able to use said upgrade. IF the second is true then you could conceivably set the upgrade to respond to certain Human DNA. It all relies heavily on assumptions and conjectures, and guesses that may or may not in fact be true.
  20. Well, as they say, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth." It might not have even worked too.
  21. Like I said, WOTG. But, think finding out what'll happen next for both the remnant of Earth, and what happens to Alexandria, and really, it is a hard choice. After all, it's iteresting to note that the matrix of all things takes them away. not really noticeable, but probably noteworthy, right? As annoying as suspense is, it's a good writing tool. But that doesn't mean I have to like being left hanging by my tiny pinky finger on a huge cliff.
  22. And we're still here. It's still fairly dangerous regardless. It'd definitely be a great way to test out some of the Newtonian and Einsteinian Physics though. It's a universe in a bottle! Kinda like a ship in a bottle, but not. In any case, it's best not to think of the worst case scenarios. You might find yourself in a rather uncomfortable and wet in the morning.
  23. Well, the theory sounds okay. But, that's theory only. Practically....well, let's just say I hope I'm not within a light year of the thing when they try it out. Just in case...
  24. It's not that they don't necessarily care, it may just be that they are extremely busy, as is often the case with me when I don't visit for periods of time on end.
  25. And that's a bad thing? But, Working on the WOTG would be good, especially updating the profiles too. Of course, that's secondary to the actual story.
