Yea cant deny how wonderful this guy is. Think about it, compare The Tall Man to other horror icons. He seem rather plan compared to the likes of Freddy or Jason but Angus's performance combined with the way they shot him makes him absolutely terrifying. The mortician suit helps too. Another thing I love about the Tall Man character is that we know so little about him despite being in four movies. Thats almost unheard of for a horror character, most tell you everything you need to know in the first movie then spend all the squeals adding stuff. But not in Phantasm, for every detail we get we end up asking more questions. Phantasm often reminds me of some of H.P. Lovecraft's stories.

Prometheus Gigantic Coming this Friday.

The fifth and final installment in the Phantasm series is coming out this year. Some of the effects may not look to stellar but others look wonderful and as long as it stays to to the spirit of the series with wonderful characters and an interesting story I'll be happy. Really looking forward to this one.

Happy new year all!

Looks like we can finally get passed the Golden Age arc and to the demons slaying, black swordsman stories.

Honestly I like it. Its not perfect but it has been fun. I think it will pick up after the retelling stuff. I didnt mind the retell arcs but they seem to be rushing these last few episodes to get to the Champa Saga and its hurting the current F arc. I think the best thing so far has been it character iteration and the characters themselves. The down fall has been the some what lack luster fights since the Beerus Saga but thats because they've been rushing.

Prometheus 2 - “Alien: Paradise Lost!

Oh I love the comics, have the full dark horse omnibus collection plus other stuff I've collected. Some stories are better then others most are a good read in spite of their flaws. Destroying Angels is one of the best, and I say that in spite of my liking of Prometheus. -

Not gonna lye never liked the newborn but if he grew into something cool I'd forgive him. Hybridization really docent work because as Ash once said the xenomorph is perfect. It's natural hybridization is awesome on its own, theirs no need to go splicing DNA. Optimize and upgrading them is ok but dont going around making them well less alien. OH no you have reminded me of the single worst Alien related thing ever. AVP Deadliest of the Species. Yes worse the Resurrection or AVP:R, their just stupid, this thing is horrible. So bad infact I have to purge my memory every time I think of it in the vain hope I'll forget it exists. Forget everything else we've talked about this comic has the worst hybridization! -

Honestly that sounds like an awesome idea. We have an Evil Dead tv series and the possibility of a Friday the 13th one. While you may not like were the movies are going if they do well we may get something like this. As I've pointed out I'm no fan of AVP:R's Predalien and agree with you all the way. As for the Na'vi one well you could argue that it linked to the natural bio-luminescence found in all lifeforms found on Pandora and would come in handy as camouflage in the colorful jungles of that planet. Plus xeno's have been shown to come in more then one color. The Runner is a brass/copper color and the mutant strain from Genocide were bright red in the comic. But on that same score some people do take the alien hybridization to far, hence most predalien designs. You want bad hybrids look no further then Batman vs Aliens 2. It has a team of super solders created using xeno dna and the dna from Arkham Asylum inmates. Cant see that going wrong! Its made worst by the fact that the first comic had a really good alien design. The Croc Alien. -
Ok so next year we are getting a prequel to the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Synopsis: Prequel about teenage Leatherface who escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge. Nice to see my favorite slasher back not only in MKX but also with a new movie next year. The Slasher movie era started with him and in these twilight years of the genera he's the only one still kicking around which is rather fitting. I dont expect the movie to be "ground breaking", just want it to be enjoyable. Gonna be a very Texas Chainsaw themed Christmas for me and this news was the cherry on top.

Hmm should be worth a watch. Kind of liked the first one, not a perfect movie but it had its good moments.

Prometheus 2 - “Alien: Paradise Lost!

Well it is and it isent. It start out like 80s action movies, the soldiers make big talk about wiping out bugs but the Xenos prove to be a far more intelligent, resourceful, unstoppable and deadly foes then they bargained for. They are easily force out of the hive by the Xenos and are constantly being out smarted and outmaneuvered at every turn. It still has action element but at its core its horror. That's actually something very few writers have ever gotten right in books or comics. They tend to treat the aliens like bugs or at best like the raptors from jurassic park but I don't think that dose them justice. I've always felt that the Xenomorphs level of intelligence is impossible for us to understand because its well alien. They are in a sense like insects in terms of savagery but they sometimes display incredible intelligence beyond that of JP raptors or intelligent mammals. As I've often described it, its a whole other kind of intellect, one we will likely never full understand. Another aspect to them that is downplayed in other media is their power. They can easily over power humans and sometimes predators with pure strength alone. The worst offence in this area was in my most hated alien book Cauldron where a Xenos are somehow taken down by common earth animals like a bear or a cloned smilodon. Don't get me wrong Xenos fighting animals is a nice change of pace but I find it hard to believe that they would go down that easily. Compare that to one of my favorite books Music of the Spears where the worst a Xeno gets is a minor wound from a charging Bull but then rips its head of with a little help from its tail and a few minor, superficial scratches and bites from a panther, Also somehow in Cauldron said bear and and sabertooth seem hardly put out when they get splashed with acid! You know the stuff we've seen eat through metal in second! An a side note more alien types Gorilla Alien! Shark Alien! Ox Alien! T. Rex Alien! Na'vi Alien! Engineer/Jockey Alien -
Ok Spoilers ahead! Ok backstory, Champa and Vados are from Universe 6. Their are 12 universe in DB, 7 & 6 are twin universe, so similar but different. Champa is Beerus's twin brother and Vados is Whis's big sister. In order to stop the brothers from destroying universes when they squabble it was decided that they would instead challenge each other with food, who ever found the nicest would win. Beerus won this time because of food from Earth, Champa likes it but isn't happy. He asks if they have an earth in their universe but it was destroyed during a war. Champa challenges Beerus to a fight, if he wins they switch earths, if he looses Beerus can have the super dragon ball he's collected, dragon balls the size of moon's or small planets! However they aren't going to fight themselves, instead they must pick the five strongest fighters from their universe to face each other in a tournament. Beerus has Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Buu (Gohan wasn't picked because he hasn't been training). Beerus says he will choose the 5th fighter. He will be the strongest guy he has ever fought, and its not Whis! This guy is said to be so powerful that when he bares his fangs he can give Beerus trouble. And this person looks like this! And these are the fighters from Universe 6!

I think that's the primary function of the orbs found at the mouth area. Sound is really just vibrations in the air so the orbs vibrate creating audible noise, the sonic buster is just this function turned up to 11. Because of the new respiratory organ the guyver creates in the neck of its host it's possible that hosts vocal cords are removed to make room for it and they cannot speak normally.

Prometheus 2 - “Alien: Paradise Lost!

At first they were going to follow the storyline of the original AVP comic but it got scrapped for budgetary reasons I think. Shame because that would have been cool to. I never liked that Pred-Queen hybrid idea, it had already been done in AVP Extinction as the Final boss of the Predator Campaign. Plus that queens backstory was that she was a bio-weapon created by a mad scientist along with the yellow K-Series Aliens. I'm also not a fan of that Predalien design, personally I prefer something like this. Pred-Queen Boss K-Series Aliens Bonus Berserker Alien - Super Predator Host -

Have to agree, as a concept its awesome (the comics and games have proven that) but the movies were just in the wrong hands. But there were some good moments, few and far between as they were! But yes that Queen is amazing! -

I agree to an extent, I don't think its that humor doesn't belong but it has to be used appropriately. The first three movies all had some humor and all of them were used appropriately. in 1 and 2 it was for character development and for 3 its used to give us an emotional break from what is a very depressing, tense and dark experience. For example the best use of humour in any of the films is this (in my opinion) Alien Resurrections problem is that its too self aware and at times is bordering on self parody which never works. Their was a time that I liked the film but now day I cant even watch it. If I did it the only thing that would get me through it would be Ron Perlman, who while fun to watch doesn't belong in this film (or at least the characters he's playing doesn't) and Sigourney Weaver's performance as Number 8. And I just hate the Newborn, even as a concept it doesn't work. The standards Xenos are far superior to this abomination and had she not been defenceless at the the queen would have crushed it. If I want to see human/xeno hybrids I'll go watch Species. -

While I agree with you to a degree Salkafar eventually we were going to reach this point sooner or later. Unlike most horror icons that have either died off or get remade the Alien franchise is still ongoing and a movie of this nature was effectively inevitable. Besides while Destroying Angels didn't try to explain their origins Dark Horse had already tried to explain their origin in Dark Horse Presents: Aliens. While it was only a theory it is suggested that the Xenomorphs evolved on their own planet. On this planet were fully integrated into the environment, they even had their own natural predators that kept the hives under control. However someone was stupid and took them off world and without any natural predators they bred like wildfire. My personal interpretation has always been that like the Guyver, the Xenomorphs are a bio-weapon gone out of control. A cosmic horror (or Destroying Angels) created by gods, The Engineers. Something that has openly been suggested by Scott since the very beginning. This is a concept I prefer, that the Xenomorphs is part of something much bigger rather then just being an invasive species on a cosmic scale. Prometheus was, as far as I am considered, a step in the right direction despite its flaws. What I want is something that will give me insight and hints but doesn't spell everything out. So like Prometheus but better. I have always been fascinated by the Alien, infact that the very first thing I felt about them. It was only as I got older that I learned how scary they were and even then my fascination still heavily outweighs any primal fear I may have. Plus it is simply human nature to want to know and understand. The tiger that stalked our ancestors in the night likely held the same qualities we ascribe to the Alien now. But even now just because we know everything about the tiger is doesn't make one any less beautiful or terrifying. The Alien has been studied and dissected ever since it first appeared on screen but it has never become less scary, Alien Isolation proved that. Exploring where it came from will likely not do that either. A similar thing happened to Jurassic Park, eventually just having dinosaurs wasn't going to be enough. Whether you liked of Jurassic World or not, genetically modified dinosaurs were going to be a thing eventual. And I personally was happy with the outcome. I'm actually more worried about this so called Alien 5 which looks to undo Alien 3. Despite what some fans think Alien 3 is not a bad movie, infact I have always felt it was on par with the first two. This video best explains my feelings. I am really looking forward to Alien: Covenant. -

Ridley Scott has confirmed that the Prometheus sequel is definitely more of an Alien film: “Well, really it’s “Alien.†They’re going to go to the planet where the engineers came from, and come across the evolving creature that they had made. Why did they make it? Why would they make such a terrifying beast? It felt bio-mechanoid, it felt like a weapon. And so the movie will explain that, and reintroduce the alien back into it.†Ridley Scott has talked about how he considered the Alien (the creature) to be done and no longer scary. Creative Assembly proved him wrong with Alien Isolation which was praised for returning Alien to its former horror glory. But the inclusion of the traditional Alien in Alien: Covenant has been in question for sometime because of Scott’s past comments. No longer though, as Scott confirms the Alien will feature in Alien: Covenant in all stages of its life cycle: “There was always this discussion: Is Alien, the character, the beast, played out or not? We’ll have them all: egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy. I think maybe we can go another round or two.†-
Am I the only one who's noticed a theme with these guest characters? They are all mask wearing/faceless killers? Jason's hockey mask effectively removes any humanity from him (an aspect made more terrifying because he doesn't speak). The Predator's bio-mask has the reverse effect, we already know it's not human but that mask somehow makes that more bearable because it's so blank, we dread seeing what lays behind it. Leatherface's skin masks aren't just to hide his deformed face, in his original incarnation the masks were how he actually expressed emotion because he was incapable of doing so and he would wear a different one for different occasions. His masks inspires fear because of what they are made of and how Leatherface treats them as you or I would a tie, all of which reveal just how demented the character is. And finally we have the Alien who doesn't wear a mask but has a similar effect because like one its face is both human like but also distinctly inhuman, it is the pure embodiment of xenophobia and the fear of the unknown.

You have no idea! Tagoma was Frieza's training partner for four months, every day he was almost killed then thrown in regenerating tank ready for tomorrow. His power is on par with current Gohan in his base form (who hasn't kept up with his training). Because Ginyu is capable of controlling and manipulating ki as skillfully as our heroes (something none else in the army, not even Frieza could do during the Frieza Saga) he is actually capable of drawing out more power from Tagoma's body forcing Gohan to go Super Saiyan. Gohan has lost his Ultimate power up from the Buu Saga because he's not been training and can no longer draw out his full power. Effectively yes, he could just keep switching bodies forever. The only problem is if he gets stuck in a body that cannot speak again. Another reason may be that he doesn't do it purely it of respect for Frieza or possible Frieza knows of a way to stop the change.

Ok so we have a realses date for Toho's upcoming' new Godzilla and our first look at this Godzilla's new design. It's realses date is very interesting to me because it was around that time of year that Manga UK released Godzilla vs Mothra: Battle for Earth all those years ago which was the first Godzilla movie I ever saw. Kind of reminds me of the first 3 Godzilla suits from Godzilla, Godzilla Raids again and King Kong vs Godzilla with that more elongated, more reptilian head. Also this Godzilla is going to be bigger the the 2004 one! Also that's a lot a teeth!

That would be cool. There is an free downloadable fighting game called TerrorDrome that actual as all the slasher icons fighting.
