No offence but this looks more professional than the Advocacy translations. Better translation, typesetting, text placement, grammar, etc.

Is the Quote function not working for anyone else? Every time I try to quote someone's post there's a brief loading icon and then nothing.

Damn... I wanna be THAT guy!

Pics or it didn't happen.

Gaster, if only for: "NOOO, NOT THE LIQUID! URRRRGHH!"

If it's the song playing on the truck radio, that's: "BÅkyÅ Tabigarasu" (望郷旅鴉) by Masao Sen.

Guyver II loses points for that asymmetrical mouth. Anywho, my vote goes to the dark Guyver himself, Agito Makishima. Not only is his Guyver design the most badass, his character is a morally complex utilitarian who walks the line between anti-hero and villain. While Sho was busy chillin', Agito was raising an army of his own and taking the fight to Chronos.

In the OVA continuity, it's established that Guyvers can telepathically communicate with each other via the organisms on their back. Is this a thing in the manga? I can't remember.

What if you were a Lost Number?

If you had a choice, which would you be and why? 'Both' sadly isn't an option.

I don't know, there must have been better options than killing Sho and handing the Control Metal to Chronos. Case in point, they're both able to infiltrate Relic's Point to rescue Sho's dad. Agito could've used a similar strategy to get Sho inside Chronos Japan's HQ.

Is this definitely the DVD boxset? There seems to be a mix of reviews from the anime & the Mark Hamill movie.

My memory of this part of the manga is fuzzy, I know there's the whole side-plot with the Biobooster monster clone. In the OVA continuity, Agito deliberately has Sho killed by Enzyme I in order for the both of them to take down Chronos from the inside, which brings me back to my original point: How did he know this would work? The scientists at Chronos obviously weren't aware that the Control Metal reforms the host, otherwise they would've frozen it. Where is Agito getting his information from? I might add that I use 'ally' in the loosest sense. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, and Agito didn't have many friends in his plot to overthrow Chronos. I don't think he could afford to sacrifice one for the greater good unless he was confident he could succeed, but I fail to see how this was a calculated risk.

Does anyone know where I can find the final OVA dubbed and uncut? Y'know, before they chopped it up in case Mizuki's boobies offend anyone.

I'm still surprised there hasn't been a Guyver video-game yet. There have been far more obscure anime/manga series given the video-game treatment, and you'd think that The Guyver would be geared for some hack n' slash action. It's not like it doesn't have a cult fandom in the West.

...that the Guyver unit can regenerate the host at a cellular level? Why take such a bold gamble, when if it had gone wrong he was effectively handing the unit to Kronos on a silver plate and destroying a valuable ally in the process?

You make one boob joke...
-
Really? I thought she was more obnoxious in the TV series and portrayed too much like the typical anime schoolgirl. She freaks out just because Sho takes his shirt off in the cave for crying out loud. -___- Also, no boobs.
-
I think the more pertinent question here is: Which version has the most annoying Mizuki?
-
If we're talking in broad strokes, then has Agito ever been truly 'good'? It just so happened that helping Sho served his best interest, that's all. Now the tables have turned, we see the 'real' Agito?
-
I must admit, I think it's almost guaranteed that Aptom will meet his maker before the The Guyver's denouement. Probably sacrificing his life for Sho. What about Agito? Do you think he'll survive to the end?

It always irked me in the English dub that they had the one guy (Gary Michaels) voice Lisker, Zerbebuth, Zxtole AND Aptom. It's strange because in OVA 4 of the Manga Entertainment UK dub, Zxtole has a different voice-actor. Then we get to OVA 5 & 6 and it's Michaels. ¬_¬ I think he was probably best suited to Lisker out of the four.

It isn't rare for an anime series to have 'guest' animators for individual episodes. It definitely looks like they ran into budget issues for OVAs 7 & 8 in particular. Some of the animation/continuity goofs and all round quality for those episodes was dreadful. It wasn't until OVA 11 that things picked up.
-
OVAs generally have a bigger budget and less censorship restrictions, that's why the 12 part series was able to deliver a much more visceral, kinetic experience than the TV series, which was rather stilted in that respect by comparison. The only real downside of the OVAs is that it never had the chance to blossom beyond its 'monster of the week' format and fully explore the underlying themes of Takaya's work.

They're not in the second act itself, only the opening credits. Sorry for any confusion. And what's wrong with rewatching the OVAs*? (except OVAs 7-8. By God the animation was shocking) Would it have been possible for Barcus to clone Team Five? Other Hyper Zoanoids are mass-produced, yes? The only downside to having the 'clone' twist is that it would be dramatically redundant and only serve as plot convenience. I'm fairly sure the 13th OVA would've been Murakami explaining the Zoalords and then the battle with Guyot (who returns to the fold at the end of OVA 12). Of course, the sequence of events after that would be changed, since we'd already had events in Takashiro village in OVA 10. This probably would've worked in their favour as they could skip some segments and get to the action at Relic's Point a lot quicker.
