  1. I would imagine the game would be episodic. First mission would be at the lake, you watch the cut-scene where Sho transforms into the Guyver. Gregole would be used for a quick tutorial. Then you have to take down waves of Zoanoids as Tetsuro makes his escape. After Tetsuro is safe, you have to fight your own way to freedom.
  2. "It's all your fault, Guyver... It's YOU who are responsible for this! And now I'm here to destroy you, as you have destroyed ME! Guyver, meet your death! FOR I AM... ENZYME!" Perfect delivery from Bob Sessions in the Manga UK dub.
  3. It's over, people. Will the last person to leave, please turn out the lights.
  4. What kind of Guyver video-game would you like to see? What genre would it be? What chapters would it cover? Be realistic. You wouldn't be able to cover the entirety of the manga without skipping chunks. Or would it be a non-canon story (like the Guyver OVAs)? What characters would be playable?
  5. A good wikia needs to be continually updated and regulated. I've managed a few and it's frustrating when fans come along and editorialize entries and write like pre-schoolers.
  6. So, it's been over three years since the last chapter? No official update from the publisher or the mangaka? The best way of looking at it is no news is good news. If it had been cancelled, we would've heard by now. It could be that Takaya is burnt out, like Takehiko Inoue with the manga Vagabond (which has been on indefinite hiatus longer than Guyver). It would not hurt for someone to come out and explain the situation. I guess it's just not the Japanese way of doing things. At the end of the day, The Guyver is their intellectual property, and if they want to call it a day, we can't do anything about it. It would be a crying shame for all the people who are invested in the series, as the story deserves closure.
  7. Gusyphus, because who wouldn't want to turn invisible?
  8. Hey, TricoBren. A fellow Udoji fan in our midst, hmm? Sure, I'll scan those as well. Check back in the next few days, I should have it done by then.
  9. I recently bought a collection of old anime VHS off eBay (Akira, Patlabor, Genocyber, Urotsukidoji, etc.) including all the Manga Entertainment OVAs of The Guyver. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in me scanning the cover art for each volume, or did HQ copies already exist?
  10. Berserk has been running almost as long as The Guyver, and just as irregularly but the scanlators don't hide it behind a paywall. That said, at least Berserk has an official English distributor so overseas fans can properly support the franchise.

We've had three anime, two live-action movies, and several figurine lines but it amazes me that there's never been a Guyver-based video game. Not even so much as a Japan-exclusive mobile game. The Guyver franchise would lend itself perfectly to an action-adventure game. Fighting zoanoids and unlocking new powers (sonic emitters, the megasmasher, Gigantic etc.) How awesome would that be in the hands of the right dev?
  12. Ah, I've definitely missed a chapter or three. Last time I saw Agito he was fighting Sho.
  13. Are you sure about that? I count: Barcas, Shin Rubeo, Krumeggnic, Galenos, Jabir and Imakarum? Then again, I'm kinda out of the loop.

Thanks, fellas! Those are a great help!

Believe it or not, I wasn't only after the nudes! Thanks, though. For some reason I missed those in my Google searches. I've made no secret of the fact I love the art for that episode. If anyone has any other pics of Mizuki, please post them. Also, your reverse psychology won't work on me...

Would someone be able to take some screenshots of Mizuki from episode 12 of the original OVA series, please? Yes, that's including the nudes. I don't have access to a HQ copy of the uncut version. If someone could do that, I would be eternally grateful. Thanks.
  17. Yup, that's the weird thing. "You don't have a control metal. You're not a Guyver after all!"
  18. Just sticking with the dub, another oddity is how Gary Michaels (RIP) voiced Zxtole in the original US Renditions dub, but for some reason Manga Entertainment used a different voice actor for Zxtole in OVA 4 but kept Michaels for OVAs 5 & 6. I'm not sure if Zxtole's lines were even re-recorded, although they did at least change his horrible zoanoid voice. In the original dub he sounded like a high-pitched robot. Anyway, the guy in OVA 4 was a better fit for Zxtole, and I always thought it was cheap how overused Gary Michaels was (he voiced Lisker, Zerbebuth, Zxtole AND Aptom!)
  19. Yes, those two episodes are shockingly bad. The dub took some 'interesting' liberties, as well. Like when Sho susses Aptom's a fake Guyver, it deliberately zooms in on his missing control metal, but for some reason in the dub it's Aptom's broken vibration blade that tips him off. Weird.
  20. Hello, JL. It's been awhile. After the dip in production values for the second half of the series, I'm glad they were able to cap it off in style. There were still a couple of minor flubs, but overall I really loved the art style for this particular episode and the animation quality was much improved. It definitely looks like this OVA was handed to a different set of animators. I wish the whole series had been in this style. Sho has to contend with the vengeful Aptom who's immune to the Guyver's arsenal but through sheer force of will Sho manages to overcome his formidable opponent and win the day. This fight was awesome and it's the one episode (other than OVA4 ' Attack Of The Hyper Zoanoid Team 5') that I find myself revisiting most. Also, boobies. On the side note, one thing I felt the OVAs excelled at was portraying the badassery of the Guyver. Take OVA 11 for example, when Agito has to take on three Enzyme IIs. While the odds are heavily stacked against him, he still puts up a decent fight before he's eventually taken down. In contrast, Sho or Agito take one hit in the TV series and they're on the ropes. I don't know if it's because of budget restraints or what, but many of the battles in the TV series lacked that punch. A lot of the fights lacked coordination and the expository dialogue would hurt the fluidity of the action. That's not to say that the OVAs were perfect by any means. Like I said, the second half had a stuttering start, but OVAs 4,5,6 and 11 & 12 had some killer fight scenes.
  21. I've been on a few other IPBs and they don't have this problem.
  22. I agree. The jab at the Advocacy is uncalled for. Better to let your work speak for itself.
  23. How come there are two sets of scanlations for Chapter 184? One in Century Gothic, one in Comic Sans?
  24. Check your PMs, Super Existence. I remember offering to help with the scanlations, and suggested using a more professional type of font like Wild Words. If I remember rightly, this suggestion was shot down. Personally, I think using Century Gothic looks... well... cheap.
