They're not in the second act itself, only the opening credits. Sorry for any confusion. And what's wrong with rewatching the OVAs*? (except OVAs 7-8. By God the animation was shocking) Would it have been possible for Barcus to clone Team Five? Other Hyper Zoanoids are mass-produced, yes? The only downside to having the 'clone' twist is that it would be dramatically redundant and only serve as plot convenience. I'm fairly sure the 13th OVA would've been Murakami explaining the Zoalords and then the battle with Guyot (who returns to the fold at the end of OVA 12). Of course, the sequence of events after that would be changed, since we'd already had events in Takashiro village in OVA 10. This probably would've worked in their favour as they could skip some segments and get to the action at Relic's Point a lot quicker.

Come on, her counterpart existing in the OVA isn't foreshadowing. That OVA was a separate retelling loosely based of the early manga with its own self-contained continuity. Foreshadowing would be for someone in the previous chapters of the manga to allude to this chick and her artificial Guyver unit. It never happens, hence why - to me - it comes across as a bit of an ass-pull by Takaya-san. And I agree, that just when it seemed like we might be approaching end-game in the series, we have another curve ball thrown in which will doubtless pad out the story for another ten years. I only hope Takaya is still around to finish it...

Okay, my finger has slipped from The Guyver pulse and I sure as hell have a lot of catching up to do, however, when I learned about Valkyria and the new Guyver unit, my first reaction was .... 'Um, whut?' This came completely out of left-field with no foreshadowing whatsoever. So Kronos have created their own artificial Guyver unit? They can do that? Since when? Are we just supposed to roll with that because... boobies? I don't know, I'm just not comfortable with this whole plot twist. It seemed contrived on Takaya's part in order to introduce a wild card into the series, now that Makishima has turned full blown bad-guy. Not to mention Guyot's back on the scene and we're going to see a Guyver-Zoalord at some stage. Oh, look, a convenient new Guyver unit has appeared. /cynicism

Hello J-L, I was wondering, had the 80s/90s series continued after 12 OVA, how would they have continued the story? The OVA series took some liberties with the original plot. I don't know if this is because the OVAs had overlapped the manga and so they had to invent their own narrative or what. As you all know, the remaining Hyper Zoanoid T5 members play a prominent part in Aptom's story, as well as the wider arc of the Guyver Gigantic. I always thought it a little curious how the Hyper Zoanoid T5 made a cameo in second intro to the OVAs, considering they were all dead at this point. We even see a clip of Barcus bringing to them to life. Was this just fanservice or perhaps a hint that they were going to be brought back into the fold, before the OVAs were scrapped that is? But that just raises even more questions than answers and I'm not sure how that could've worked. Answers on a postcard please. Or here, either way's good.
