That's actually an advantage of living where I do as far seeing light reflect off of stuff. The lights that are near built up areas, though I live several miles away, can be seen reflecting off clouds at night when there's overcast. The effect is lessened on clear nights as the light just goes off into space. Also, I think that car makers that have LED headlights have some special trick, because though LED flashlights do great when they have something to shine onto, they don't have beams much longer than a normal flashlight. I do wonder when laserlight flashlights will be coming out, though, because cars already have laserlight technology on them.

According to the sites I looked at, the Toyota was actually less expensive, but that does run counter intuitive since it's RWD (FWD is usually cheaper, which is why it's popular now except for performance cars and trucks). But then again, Toyota's site had the 1.3 vs 1.5 thing that was kinda obscure at first. Personally, where I come from, SUV's with tiny engines don't really fly because of poor power to weight, as the small engines have to lug more weight and aerodynamic drag. I hope that the engines have decent torque for their size, which is what moves a vehicle from a dead stop and deals with acceleration. There's a saying in motorsports that horsepower is how fast you go when you hit something, and torque is how far you move the object you just crashed into. I'm personally also kinda a downer on SUVs with huge V8 engines in them that belong in performance cars, which get better fuel mileage and are more fun and fashionable IMO that a huge SUV. Huge SUVs, and SUVs in general deserve to have diesel engines because of greater torque and much better fuel mileage in such a vehicle. Unfortunately, about the only diesel engined SUVs on sale in North America that I'm currently aware of are German built, such as the Audi Q7, Q5, VW Toureg and Porsche Cayenne, all of which are Volkswagen Group products. Mercedes-Benz also has some diesel SUVs and maybe BMW, but most BMW diesels are sedans. What's wrong with the station wagon, or even off-roading station wagons like the Audi A4 Allroad and similar vehicles? But getting back to your point, it goes back to what you feel you want/need. Both vehicles have the same size engine, nearly identical power and torque ratings, and are about the same size overall, and both can seat 7 people in them. I couldn't find any fuel economy ratings for them anywhere, not even on Toyota's and Chevrolet's official sites that have the Avenza and Spin featured for the Filipino market. Biggest differences seem to be that the Avenza is listed as being RWD, while the Spin is FWD, and about $500 on the price tag. Maybe it comes down to is the extra $500 worth it to have RWD on the Avenza, or taking FWD on the Spin and saving about $500. In almost all other respects, the cars are very similar.
-
That depends on what you want/need. Both are very similar, about the same size, same basic specs. Biggest difference is that the Toyota is cheaper and is rear wheel drive while the Chevy is more expensive and front wheel drive. Sadly, I couldn't really find any fuel economy specs on the several sites I visited. Not even on Toyota's of Chevrolet's official sites.

Hi everyone. Just got my first photo back from the bird sanctuary outing, and here it is : https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/p180x540/10401503_10152591134539872_8744874902608623582_n.jpg?oh=a56e3d7d2576214559a549ded6129db9&oe=545758BB&__gda__=1414327213_9db1ff4dcdc393c418da637c47a6070a Other than that, today hasn't been that great. Had a huge headache this morning, and it finally went away when I woke up about an hour ago. It's dark and it looks like it'll rain here anytime soon. Audi at least are 3 for 3 in terms of major international 24 hour endurance races (24 Hours of Le Mans, 24 Hours of the Nurburgring and 24 Hours of Spa), with the Spa win coming this morning. Other than that, not too much has gone on. I'll be back later

I finally saw some barn owls on Friday, and here's a photo of one that's currently a guest of honor in the visitor's center and is sorta the sanctuary's mascot. I hope that you guys will like her

This is a topic about light and darkness and things related to them, such as fear of the dark, trying to light the darkness, and why people like the night time or day time, and anything that one can think of, as well as ways for "seeing" though the darkness of night or overcast and illusions, such as mirages and such. First, I'll start with a question? What is darker outside: a new moon night or an overcast night? That does go towards how light can trick us and how we in reality might not be able to see the same thing. In other words, it depends. I'd have to say a new moon night with dim stars. With overcast, the cloud cover can catch and reflect light, and the closer you are to a built up area, the more noticeable that becomes. So, what's your opinions and thoughts. Lighting technology, day person or night person, fears of the dark or the unknown in the dark, and tricks that light and dark can play on us. Discuss away

Things you would try to change if you could use Time Travel.

I'd go back and try and foster a romantic relationship in school. That's the only big thing that's missing from my life now. -
Hi everyone. I'll be able to get my barn owl pics from my friend later on. Once I link to them, I think that you'll like them. I might post them in the animal section here. I'm still on a pretty big high from yesterday. It's supposed to be stormy and rainy tonight and Sunday, and that also means that the NASCAR races at Indy are under threat from rain. But that doesn't really bother me too much. Tornado threat isn't very high, though wind and hail might be. I'll just be passing the time today with some gaming and possible fan fic. Nothing major I'll be back later

Terrible Video Game Disasters / Video Games That Sucked
Chernaudi replied to a topic in Japanese Entertainment
Film writer and producer James Rolfe as the Angry Nintendo Nerd/Angry Video Game Nerd has a whole You Tube channel devoted to comical reviews of crappy games I also happen to like one of the worst games of all times: yep, Postal 2. It's infamous for it's over the top violence and dark humor, but it's also one of the most dysfunctional games ever made. It crashes like crazy when a lot of stuff happens because the game's code, even with the updates to it, is so unstable. It's a guilty pleasure and quite fun most of the time, but best video game ever? Please... Guilty pleasure and fun when you're in the right state of mind and like the game's satirical sarcasm, but not a great game by any means.- 8 replies

Hi everyone. I just got back from my outing, got a ton of library books, and finally saw a barn owl up close. One was sleeping I think in her enclosure, and another was out on a display, but the Ohio Bird Sanctuary has the oldest barn owl that's believed to be in captivity at present. She's 26 years old and she's sorta the mascot of the Sanctuary. I also got some barn owl booklets and photos, and took some photos of my own. I also got a couple of stuffed barn owl plushes and this is a place I'd love to go back to when I have more money. Other than that, I don't really know what I wanna do today. I do hope that my brother is in the mood for getting something later. If not, I'll wait and make my own pizza tonight. I just had a blast today I'll be back later

I've always wondered if Griselda's spinning blade whip attack was inspired by Shizu having a dance hobby when she was younger (even in human form, she's very athletic it seems), or it's simply a case of the blades being just a case of having her hair weaponized in her battle form? Anyways, it seems that IMO, and this is speculation on my part, Shizu could've been a housewife if she and Agito ended up "normal". She handled most of the domestic duties at Agito's summer home, seems adept at arts and crafts, and seems a lot like a stereotypical housewife type. Either that, or she could've had a career in technology or business. She seems to be one who could own and run a business, and because of the deal with the Libertus, her leadership skills are proven. Natsuki is a sci-fi nut. I can imagine her writing about or reviewing sci-fi stuff. She's pretty creative and could also be an artist. Natsuki is probably the easiest to pin down for that stuff, because it's pretty clear with her being leader of her high schools SF group and figuring out stuff about Zoanoids, and her interest in that stuff. Mizuki, though, that can be harder to pin down. She might be content being a housewife, maybe with a part time job. Before the stuff with the Guyver units and such, she was a typical high school student (though she got excellent grades and was very good at academics) and a typical teenage girl. Of course, we know that she's got Sho as a love interest, and if not for the Chronos and Guyver stuff, she and Sho would probably be a normal boyfriend/girlfriend couple. But the caveat is the phrase "if not for..." The "if not for..." is what throws a kink--and a massive one--into all of this.

I'll get started. I have my outing today to the bird sanctuary and such. I hope that I'll have a good time.

Barn owl vs cat part 2:
-
Hi everyone. I got though today in one piece and had some fun at work. And yes, the fan helped out a lot, as well as just better weather overall. I have my outing to look forward to tomorrow, and I hope that I get some photos of barn owls. For tonight, I'll be making pork chops again--it's either use them or lose them IMO. I'll also be trying to keep myself entertained with gaming and looking up stuff. Saturday night I think might be the best time for fan fic. Other than that, things have been great today. I'll be back later

Guyver might not be that type of manga (shonen vs shojo), but I do have a feeling that there are times where "girls will be girls". It's not like most of the vampires in Twilight or True Blood or Dracula go around killing people and drinking their blood, and for a real life example, it's not like the employees of Audi Sport spend every waking moment thinking of how to kick ass at Le Mans--a lot of them granted, since they've won 13 of the races there since 2000, but not all. This is also kinda into how girly the girls are, what they do to try to stay sane, and what they do that we don't see that helps out their significant others (aside from Natsuki, who, though she's been linked/shipped with Tetsuro and Aptom, I believe that she's still technically single) or friends/allies. Also, from my POV, and I hope that I don't sound pigish here, because at least they're not used (often) for fanservice or window dressing which often happens in shonen manga, all the females from Guyver are what I'd consider to be hot and attractive. So that's sorta what I'm talking about, along with just opinions on them.
-
Sho and Mizuki having a family? Probable. As mentioned, they're the only set of male/female ships that have that type of romance going on. As of now, they're the only ones I think that it can be said that there's a very good chance of that happening with. Of course, Sho has to find her and Tetsuro and reunite with her before we can get further with that. As far as how they'll live as a family, that sorta goes back to the topic on how can the characters from Guyver have a normal life. It depends on the state of the world if/when Chronos is defeated, how many Chronos loyalist carry a grudge big enough to make them challenge Sho to battles and such, and if some organization tries to take Chronos' place. Those would be the biggest complications. As far as how that goes or if any other couples turn romantic, that might have to be a manga of it's own and those are questions that I can't really answer. I'd argue that Sho and Mizuki getting married and having kids is sorta jumping the gun. However, if it does work out, they'll probably get married and have a family, but depending on how the world is after Chronos' defeat, there could be complications with having a "normal" relationship, though by now, I'd argue that's it's nothing new for Mizuki and Sho.

In the spirit of the original, and for those who want to use it. Same rules apply, you can post anything, be it what you did today, random stuff, as long as it doesn't violate forum TOS So I'll start. I hope to be able to see some barn owls on Friday when I have my outing, and I made a new friend at Twilight Lexicon. She's the site's newest member and she's from Greece, and she loves barn owls. And here's IMO an evil sight: http://johndagys.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/gallery/wec-prologue-saturday-2014/img_1090.jpg So, post away

They probably would've ended up that way until the death of Agito's parents. I do sorta think that Shizu sees Agito as her soulmate, but Agito has a more platonic outlook on their relationship. At least until recently (last time we say them was at that cemetery that Agito set up). Agito treated Shizu more as his partner rather than as a friend/employee there it seemed.

What's for dinner? Literally, sort of...food discussion.
Chernaudi replied to Chernaudi's topic in General 'whatever'.
Pork Chops tonight I'm taking advantage of the cool weather we have now -
This is a topic that I'd like to make talking about stuff with female protagonist in Guyver. It could be our thoughts and opinions, observations, and things that we wanna guess on. And this includes things that they do, "female" things that they do they could do if they were living "normal" lives, who they are as people, what they do in their free time, basically anything that's forum appropriate. Also, this can include our favorite females and why we like them. So discuss away I'll probably post more later when I get done with some stuff online

Hi everyone. A time has been set for my outing, which will be Friday at 1:00. It'll be to the bird sanctuary, library and some place to eat. As for today, I slept in, and it was the best sleep I've had in a while. I've been dealing with neck pain since earlier this year, but changing how I've slept seems to have helped quite a bit. I go into work at 9:00 tomorrow and work until 2:00. That's the longest day of work there since I started back. At least it'll be cooler outside and we'll have a fan in the office when I go back in tomorrow. And from looking at the Weather Channel, it'll mostly be cool though the next week or so. I'll be back later

Well, they've already slept with each other and they've had a thing going until Mizuki and Teturso disappeared and ended up on Shia. I have little doubt that once Chronos is defeated and they're both still alive that they'd get married and possibly have kids. They're about the only male/female couple who have that thing going on. Natsuki and Tetsuro are single, and though they're a couple, I don't see Shizu and Agito having the same thing (as of yet) that Sho and Mizuki have as far as passionate/couple love going on. So they have that going for them.
