  1. more generic guyver pics by me. =P original image bw contrasted contrasted again recolored by hand with airbrush tool barely noticeable change with smoothing and shading plastic tool and the generic megasmasher effect to top it off.
  2. well the Castlevania Judgement game doesn't suck completely. For one the music is great, graphics are pretty decent, and the gameplay is not half bad according to the reviewers in Castlevania Dungeons. I've been listening to the fan rips of the music, so I can at least vouch for that part.

You are suggesting we are arguing over a being that may not exist. I guess you can call that a waste of time, but this topic does serve other ends. Even if God and religions are false, they still serve people by providing emotional security, as well goal. My ideas are opinions, true. Your beliefs opinions too Zeo. No point to either, maybe some merit to both. I see not a point, so giggity giggity goo! Let's continue on. God can take plenty away without free will. He could take away disease, take away hunger by having food grow everywhere, he can take away fear by teaching us about the unknown, and he can certainly help take away or lessen war by eliminating the above... and he can take away fictional characters like Jar Jar Binks who's sole goal is to torture star wars fans, what no go... who right, we're talking about God, not George Lucas, sorry... None of that has to do with free will, just management of resources (via control of the nature which he has) and knowledge involving understanding of things. There are some things that can't and shouldn't be taken away like Death, limit in living space, and the ability hate. But at the same time there are things he can do that would help prevent any suffering and conflicts, he just doesn't seem to concern himself with it, if not actually advocate some war according to some teachings. There is a difference between our parents and God, God is apparently around all the time, and a parent on earth eventually has to let go of that child. God never let goes, but neither does he act as a parent. Thus he's not fulfilling the role people claim him too. You said you can't reform people who don't want to reform. What I was arguing is that there are better ways to convince people to reform... such as through example. I have no problem with policing, but if God is out there, then he can certainly help prevent the need for it. Also, killing every human on the planet should not be compared with arresting people, if you were to compare, then we'd simply have to kill every criminal on the planet, then then we can start comparisons. What I wanted was god to not have to resort to mass killing, which goes against the teachings related to him. Okay, so let's just say it's not gods fault for them dying, because they ignored his messengers (who I must remind you could of been confused for loonies) or couldn't hear him, then how is it hat different from a cop who shot a suspect that he knew was deaf and unable to hurt the cop as well (since God himself wasn't in harm's way) to stop a crime? Was it completely justified since the cop could of apprehended the criminal and just shot him because it was easier? IF you ask me, God took the easy way out by killing, and killing usually is the easiest way of removing something unwanted. As for hearing God, many people have heard them and not had their heads explode. Then there is the possibility these people were madmen, but then again Abraham is the father of the religion, so his head should of blown up, and if not, then he could of faked the entire religion thus wasting our time here and now. I find the idea that God lacks the ability to talk to people without blowing their heads up, seriously, he has other means of doing it like the burning bush, so why not use the unplugged speakerphone? Besides, I don't recall any of the texts stating that you'd suffer from such a fate, I think it's just an absurd excuse. Now there is something written about why all people can't hear God, and that is a hardened heart. Which apparently, you gain from lack of faith, but there are and have been people with tons of faith, and not a peep has been heard... There's some merit to the Cain argument, he had possibly not of given his best crops to God. Some say he had instead given God his least viable grown patch. That is why he is displeased, Very Good Zeo. But you failed to answer the question in the former of that paragraph I wrote. God knew what Cain would of done, and thus new Cain would kill, so why allow that. He could of re-declared or reminded them of this. By not doing so he allowed a murder by factor oh his "all knowing" factor. Yes there are those people who can't be reformed, but that's a very few in number, and those that can't are considered to have a mental illness. So what happens to the rest of the human population that would've been reformed. Or did God consider everyone to sick to save, which I again have to point out, that he had the power to whisk away children... don't say he can't, the guy floods the earth. makes talking bush's, and created this known universe (or the very least this solar system.) I don't see your point in the words of people when it comes to the bible, the entire thing was written by people with the possible exception of the ten commandments. If you use that arguement, then almost any teachings within the Old Testament, New Testament, Koran, and the several other jewish literature are thus hogwash that we shouldn't bother with. To suggest the passages I chose shouldn't hold merit any more or any less then other passages, then it doesn't work for you either. Though I am in total agreement with you in not taking anything from the bible into heart since God himself never wrote a book for us to follow. I'm not even using the New Testament much because we can actually disprove what's written in it more then the old testament. If you really want ot detract and have fun with the texts of the bible and it's horrible teachings, then please follow this old letter I read a while back.

I understand what you're getting at. But it conflicts with what I know about parenting and my ideas of free will. And I'm narrow in my view for good reason, I've focusing on Gods flaws, and I have yet to hear a response that works for me, in this case logical reasoning. For a super being to know everything, everyone, to be capable of changing everything as he feels fit, he sure fails a lot. Besides, I like being the bad guy in this conversation because though I'm no Atheist, I may learn something. For one, if he is a parent who looks over his children as some claim, then why does he not with us as a parent. You could say he's with us spiritually, but that's not really parenting. Sending some messengers to earth who can be confused as insane goofballs doesn't help in his parenting either. Also killing your offspring isn't at all that nice, even if their souls will come back up to you, life is precious as he claims, and yet he takes it when he wants. Even if he gave us life, it was a gift, it doesn't means he has the right to take it back unnaturally. Also, his actions can be called genocide in some ways... So if he were before us, should we put him on trial, because if it were anyone else, he'd be on death row by now. I have yet to hear an answer that justifies his destruction of most life on earth instead of just killing humans alone, or killing humans in general (even if they were wicked). If he chose he could of just killed all the humans by sending down an angel, no animals would of had to suffer. And I again I bring about my point in him possibility dealing with humanity in reforming them with proper guidance with prophets, or simply whisking away all the children and having them taught kindness and respect by Noah. Let's say he's set up earth as a great work or experiment. Then how can we allow this world to get corrupted by his other creations outside our plain of existence. Angels and entities not meant to be here still came. As a being of with eyes unclouded, he sure didn't seem to mind allowing this. So he should be held accountable for not stopping what he could of stopped if he truly is the all mighty being unequaled. If he couldn't foresee this problem, then he really isn't almighty. He's claimed to be able to see the future too, so murder, floods, wickedness, Satan. All of that could of been prevented with some effort, and he wouldn't of had to interfere so much later. Seriously, he could of told Cain "Oh, and make sure your sacrifice is more then just some hard grown crops, since it won't appease me." Cain could of then found a better tribute for him, like trading for one of Abel's cattle for the sacrifice. All this talk about Free will, if he wanted to truly let us go about without worry of free will, he wouldn't of interfered with humanity in the first place, just observe us. Free will means being able to choose what you will do, good or evil, and even which gods you worship, and how you live. Yet there should be a limit, as to prevent chaos and respect each others free will. However, he constantly interferes throughout history when it comes to matters about worshipping him, but never about preventing us from harming other people of different faith, he's so jealous of other God's that he'd have his followers wage war to kill and then supplement those people. So even if those different people were at peace and not harming anyone, he would grow angry with them and hold the in contempt for not worshiping him. "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God..." I also find God Pretty mean and almost taunting of humans in his tests. He asks Abraham to kill his son, beats up Israel, Paul and his persecutions at the hands of others, and so forth. Then he decided to test all Hebrew's with hundreds of years of invasions, war, pagan gods, and suffering... wait, he did that as a test to us all? Sounds like a pretty crappy test to me. He can look at our souls but that's not enough for him, he wants us to suffer a bit just to see if we are any good as his servants. So much for a God who accepts all. "I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died. I will use them to test Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the LORD and walk in it as their forefathers did" Hebrew's claim the Babylonians were his servants, come to punish the israelites and Jews for their lack of faith... So he handed the Jews to the hands of slave masters again to punish them. Harsh dude, God's a pretty harsh being. If he could look into men's hearts, wouldn't he know just how great there resolve is, and predict their actions as well? So why bother with the tests to begin with?

I keep looking at the older texts because the more recent concepts by Christians and Islam's have altered the current perception of God. I think the current perception is the least likely version of the real God (if there is one) and thus I tend to follow the Hebrew's version of him (while still following the concepts of Jesus who I admire, or at least the concept of his message). Also, the new text's in the holy bible don't deal as much with God, instead they focus on other people like Christ, John, Joseph, and others. Followed by the fate of humanity and the end of the world. Besides, what better way to get an idea of getting an idea of God's true nature then through his past actions? So I think there is some merit in focusing it,. If you want me to drop the matter then I will if you would like to focus on some other concept here. In the meanwhile... As for the free will, it's not what I'm targeting, and God as an almighty being with infinite knowledge should be more then capable of dealing with none believers then the methods he displayed. If he had more men like Jesus appear to bring out the good in people, he may of been able to reform humanity without bringing such waste to the world. God didn't just wipe out humanity in the flood, but plants and animals, and much of other life not brought into the Arc. He warned humanity to follow him or be destroyed through the words of his prophets, but these men didn't listen. Noah did, but then he told Noah to build ships, and not the rest of the humanity because he planned on killing all but Noah and those close to him. What bothers me about the above is that God is preached as all forgiving these days, but didn't have the patience for these wicked. I thought it was stated that all men, and even Satan can be forgiven and reach salvation. So why why didn't he make the effort? Now don't tell me he warned humans or gave them proper preparation. He didn't, sending a single man into town and telling everyone they are going to die isn't really effective or practical. It didn't work ever in thousands of years of the history of his followers, and yet he insisted in doing it. Sending a single guy out to make such claims would be looked at as a madman. Maybe if he sent in a talking angel, or even a lobotomized monkey things would of been more effective because of the miracle factor. He pulled the same stunt with the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Romans. All of them warned, and each time people meant not to worship him would suffer his wrath according to texts for not worshiping him. God is stated as a jealous god, and it's so apparent that all he wants is effection, but if ignored he makes you suffer.

I decided to pick at Judea-christian views because that is what most of us can relate to, if you want I can tear into Islam, Hindu, and Buddhist thinking as well, but I'd rather not. Also there are different ways of influencing people without disrupting free will. If God ordains a purpose for us, then why doesn't he give us paths that would knowingly allow less evil to exist in the world. He's supposed to know everything in the universe, but can't bloody figure out how to better help humanity without flooding the earth...? not working for me, nope. Some people say we need evil in the world for God to be good, or allow free will. I'm not sure if that's true, about the free will part, but having evil just so God can look better in our eyes disturbs me. Oh, and when I talk about God smiting us humans left and right, doesn't that also effect our souls according to some beliefs. If we are sinners, then God sent them to hell after killing them, and thus cost them salvation. Also, does he have the right to allow our souls to suffer for eternity when he can save our souls now? A God like that sounds more like one who made man out of boredom to entertain him as Time passes instead of any love. It's like a human playing civilization. As for angels, they were based off the spirits and gods of other cultures, in essence angels were more like Chimera's then anything. I hate the chibi looking Cherubs because originally they were depicted in a much more cooler light, they are gods mightiest angels, the elite near god angels, and they were turned into wing babies... so uncool. Also there are some things i noticed that atheists hate about religious groups like. "Don't try to think, God is beyond your knowledge, just go with what we tell you. Oh don't question it, it's heresy and you'll be sent to hell. If God didn't want us to question him, then we really wouldn't have both free will nor the capability to learn and change. Just look at poor moses. Moses was punished for disobeying God's instructions. God had instructed him to "speak" to the rock, but instead he hit it, twice to get water. God punished him, and Aaron (For not stopping moses from hitting the rock a second time.) and not only disobeying a command, but for practically ruining a good opportunity to awe his worshipers. Pretty harsh, especially Aaran who really didn't commit a wrong in the first place. The punishment was for niether to ever step foot on the holy land... Wait, wasn't god supposed to be capable of unqual forgiveness? It seemed like an honest msitake to me.

Oh, the terrorize thing is because, well people who didn't believe in God in the first testament ended up having their cities burned down by him, meteors crash about on their homes, women turned to stone for looking back on the chaos, disobeying his commands means punishment... so god tells me to go tell a bunch of people that he's gonna kill them unless they worship him, I refuse... so he gets me stuck inside a whales stomach when I ran away from the decree. Then there are the commands by God to the israelites to kill every man, woman, and child, take there land, but not their belongings... It was an early genocide in gods name! This type of thing was typical in the old world, but the israelites were by far the most brutal when it came to it. At least most other cultures took captives, to wipe out dozens of cities, towns, and villages over a 100 years of war is pretty horrific. Now I'm not trying to say Jews did this, no this came before even the Jews came to be, but it did take place just after moses and Egypt, and the 40 years of wondering. So please don't get the wrong idea folks and call me some Nazi sympathizer. I'm actually describing things I read in the bible, and historical readings like "Great People of he Bible and how they lived"

A shame really, I was hoping to see more of your views, though I do also suggest anger management... Yeah free will means having the ability to do both right and wrong and make your own choices in that matter. An Angel doesn't have that ability, they just follow orders and can't disobey (which conflicts with the whole idea of Satan actually gaining a will of his own.) What god has failed to do was guide humanity away from it. Also, I find god to be pretty horrible in how he deals with humanity as a whole, instead of attempting to save sinners he either has them killed or sent to hell. If there are too many sinners, rather then go through the effort of reforming them, he decides to cause a flood, kill them and almost all other land animals on earth, and then lets us repopulate the world as a fresh start... also, he seems to terrorize people into submission instead of using kindness and ideals to win them over... that doesn't really sound so benevolent, just compare God's actions to the messages about him, if anything he's like an omnipotent politician with public image, but is actually pretty petty at heart. Also, I find it interesting that we have a concept of good and evil, it didn't exist in most cultures and religions up until Christianity introduced Satan.
  10. hey, how about that walking turd tank that Sigint dreamt about in MGS3? That should prove an interesting battle. Giant Radioactive Lizard VS a robotic tank that can turn things into poop. What it comes down to it, the battle will be determined by who's got a more foul smell, Godzilla's bad breath, or the stink of giant poop.
  11. that's fake, but still funny. XD Takakazu Abe, based of a gay hentai manga from japan. Later converted to the Mugen 2D PC game engine. needless to say, when you have a gay dude with humping attacks, he can be both scary and funny. First gainst Ryu and for added humor... homer then him and Micheal Jackson teaming up against Sasuke and Haruhi the ending is what wins out thanks to MJ's special dancing finisher (he makes the opponent dance to death)

Salkafar, your post reminds me and how I started to view god at one point, it's all the implausible contradictions and hypocrisy that pushed me away from catholicism and single faiths in general. I was pretty angry at both the people around me with their forcing of beliefs on me. I try to operate by some degree of logic, and God and Christianity and many others or illogical. Going to a church and getting hurt and attacked by some of the kids who take part of the ceremonies insulted me and their duty. I think the defining moment was when I was getting punched and abused by the older boy scouts outside of the church and no one stopped them, not my parents, not the priest, none of the adults or the other people, and instead they just forced me to march down the street later holding a candle minutes after all this and chewed me out. That got me questioning all the inconsistencies I read and experienced from the bible. And to think, I actualy considered becoming a priest as a kid before that! Not anymore folks! These contradictory flaws though that you pointed out are from the Christian god. The traditional Hebrew version of God wasn't not an all benevolent god, no, he actually enjoyed punishing the wicked and reigning destruction down on his enemies servants (other gods). It's not often quoted or even pointed out because... well it makes God seem pretty much more human then all mighty, and not much better then other gods. Then came Christianity as it spread through Rome, and the religion changed in part to the peoples and religions of other cultures it replaced. God for example took in qualities of the god Endovelicus who had a widespread pagan religion through out Rome and persisted until the 1300's. Meanwhile Satan was created to both take away blame from god's flaws and shortcomings in the Hebrew books, while also using the figure to villainize other opposing pagan gods. Thus you can blame Christianity, and even Muhammadans (they distorted many things even further) for the conflicting traits that God is described with.

This is one of the few topics that you can use a simpson episode "She of Little Faith." Homer and Bart build a model rocket together but lose control of it as it burns down the church. Without any money for repairs, the church decides to sell out to corporate sponsors: mainly Mr. Burns. Lisa is appalled by the shameless display of billboards and corporate monikers emblazoned on the church walls and finally decides to simply quit the church for good. She decides to test out new religions and finally happens upon a Buddhist temple. Lisa becomes enamored with the easy-going approach to enlightenment and decides to take Buddhism as her new religion. Her family, worried about her soul, try to bring her back to Christianity by subtly dropping Christian innuendo. Lisa realizes that Buddhism allows for the celebration of all holidays and finally comes back to her family to celebrate and simply pay "lip-service" to the church with the help of Richard Gere.
  14. gotta love the mob.
  15. well the fact I remember this stuff after almost a decade of not playing it shows how big an influence the game has on me. There really hasn't been anything as ground breaking since in 2D gaming aside from Viewtiful Joy. Super Metroid, Demon's Crest, Megaman 8, and the Castlevania handheld sequals are about the only things that stick out in my mind though I know there are others liek the recent contra games, I have yet to play those.
  16. it's a dude, a metrosexual one I guess.
  17. it would be one of the few monsters that could fight him in the open sea, and on land. All he has to do is fight liek this pinguin dude on land.
  18. yes, with decent equipment and knowing the pattern you can own dracula with alucard at lvl1. Oh and I don't recall being able to cast spells as the axe night, though I think you can still use a familiar.

  22. did you ever use the sheilds to summon an armor (or cow for that matter.) they had some nice effects, a shame they weren't that practical.
