Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Larz Zahn replied to jerrygoodman's topic in General 'whatever'.
O crap. Forgot about that. I was thinking about fortean wearing it. -
I never been big on the eternals... even in comic cameos, they don't do much... can't say I'm excited to watch this movie.

Lol point conceded. He very much wanted too.

But the shield being broke... I'll have to research that. I'm only aware of the secret war event where doom or ultron broke it, and cap fixed it at the end by wishing.

If you ask me a spidey question, im your guy... A cap question? Best I can do is guess... Not counting issue long events where he loses his power and then gains it back in one or two issues... like a spell or power inhibitor, I think only twice. Or more accurate to say, I can only remember him losing it twice. 1st was he got caught in a chemical explosion, which reacted with the serum and burned it out if his system. He worked out to keep up his trench and eventually had to use a suit of armor before his body giving out totally. They fixed it by giving him a blood transfusion with the red skulls cloned body. Second time a villain i dont know shot him with so etching that neutralized his serum and made him age to a 90 year old man. He staid that waybfor a loonngggg time. (Side note, he used the armored suit again to kick the crap outta Tony during the multiverse incursion arc.) As a old man, many issues later, and real world years, he was in a prison break getting the mess kicked outta him by crossbones. Then a super powered girl who had the power of a cosmic cube offered to give him back his powers. There's a twist to how that ends too. I could be wrong, I don't follow cap that well and most of this is from memory. DISCLAIMER!

That is also dependant on the writer(going by feats)... I am not sure on this part but I remember reading somewhere that when he lost his strength back the 1st time,(Tony made him a suit armor he wore for a while while he lost it.) When he got it back he surpassed his 800lb limit and now he was amped to 1.5 tons. But it he was always said to have peak human. Unfortunately I never read this issue.

Ok this part I'm 99% confident in, lol. I did research after I watched the disney+ series. Cap asked Tony for help and he made the adamantium shield, but went thru his nuts iron wars arc and pissed cap off. So cap confronted Tony and returned the sheild. Then he, d-man, falcon and nomad were doing whatever they were doing and got in a tight spot, and black panther showed up in a wakanda jet. He helped them out of the jam, and it turned out that cap asked t'challa for a replacement sheild. Which is were the vibranium sheild came from. At this time cap was not cap America anymore, (who was John walker) and so d-man gave Steve Roger's the uniform that would end up in John walkers possession and become usAgent. I dont remember if Steve went by the captain or if he actually used usagent. I know that in a 3 way fight, cap took back the original shield and walker took the vibranium. If he swapped it for the adamantium one afterwards, I never read that issue. I did a LOT of comic reading. A lot.... And sorry about the heavy shield misinformation. Somewhere in my head I had it as heavy. Do you think it was retconned?

I loved the 1st half, but the second part fizzled out for me. Especially the racial message in it. I get its a big part in American culture, and by using the 2nd supersoldier (whos name escapes me) they were able to address it in a way that was easy to watch. Watching John walkers decent to looney town was the best part for me. I was really wanting him to be unhinged. Totally didn't se them killing black star tho,(he was second bucky in comics). Fun fact, 616 shield is actually a super adamantium(?) alloy that the recipe is lost to the ages. (If memory serves Its so super heavy that it took someone with strength and skill to catch and use it.) I never liked the bland... its a vibranium sheild origin. You can see Steve's reaction when the winter soldier caught the shield. His expression was like, "that wasn't suppose to happen..."

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Larz Zahn replied to jerrygoodman's topic in General 'whatever'.
Shang Chi is a less popular hero who is a martial arts master. Even more so than Iron fist. He isn't new either he's been around for a couple decades at least. Before 90s I want to say. I'm guessing marvel wants to bring attention to all of the lesser known characters n I w that they had the original avengers arc done. Falcon (to me) was never that big a character in the comics, heck, he couldn't even fly at first, he was just a street brawler. I think he got big after introducing him in the captain America winter soldier movie, but I could be wrong. Us agent is the same thing, never left a big impression after his 1st introduction arc. Sad they treated mandarin the way they did in Ironman 3, but indid enjoy me some trevor. -
Not just in maximum carnage, but even in the most current comics he is gathering together the symbiotes to create his twisted view of a family. He also did this back in u.s.a.carnage and in the knull arc. Tora, it makes my heart warm to see you say that about carnage. As a mega spidey fan(some would call it obsession) I do get real annoyed when things are "off" even cosmetically. Norman's carnage had the white teeth and kinda grey underskirt until he mixed carnage with the goblin serum. And in the last venom movie, venom not having the white emblem on his chest bothered me like a OCD tic. Even the cartoons rarely get them right. Ultimate Spiderman cartoon carnage was a big let down.

Now that's a piece of art.

Small break from guyver stuff. My mom has gotten into selling bonzai trees, and asked me to print and paint a yoda for them.

It's alive!!!! So some luck with my gregole project. It's back in one piece, but I'm 1000% positive if you even breath on it, it'll snap. I tried to take some real close up photos to show off one leg, it's got a hage gap in it. Trying to fill it, but it will be a major structural weakness for all eternity. And a few touch ups on the guyvers. Haven't decided about the busts base yet. I'm sorta liking the green look.
-
Heh... I broke it as I was about to paint it... I picked it up to get a good look aND see what color I should use 1st, sat it down and big clumsy moron(me) back handed it off the table as I was reaching for the paint!! You ever look into the mesh mixer program?

I don't know why that big chunk is on the corner there. Must be a fault when the slicer converted the file for printing... something I'll have to look into I guess. What ya think?
-
Here it is! Now bare in mind that this is right off the printer and all I did was remove the supports. I haven't cleaned it up or touched up anything yet. Just by looking at it here, it's still smaller than I had intended, guess I didn't realize how big that base really was. And Im still not able to see those striped lines on his shin. So... no need for the extra work on smaller miniatures. But if I ever intend to cut em up and print by pieces, I'll have to do those lines.
-
Better angle of the stand and then the whole model in a slicer program to get it printed. The whole model is so... comelex, it's bogging down the slicer. Can't use auto supports, have to add them in manually (the green things.) I tried shrinking it down 1st before I load it in the slicer, but it still boggs it down no matter what size I save it as. Dunno. Hope it works. Lol.
