  1. So i found a Guyot max factory model on ebay a few weeks ago, it finally arrived! as always, its good quality and the box is in very good shape Any one find any bargains or rares lately? ive found lots on ebay.com, but not many americans will post to the uk it seems...
  2. Then we are definitely looking at an interest triangle with the Guyvers, Archanfel (and his loyalists) and Guyot. If Guyot still has the Remover (and I am betting dollars to donuts that he does) he is an absolutely critical player. In the hands of a fully powered Zoalord, a Remover is the only weapon that can destroy a Guyver with certainty. But it is unlikely that Guyot can power the Remover up in his current state. Archanfel probably could, even now - if only once. But he would only need to do it once. Now... I doubt the Remover would work on Valcuria's control medallion; Leaves Sho and Agito; and of course Guyot would prefer to remove Agito from the board, for personal and practical reasons. If Archanfel could get his hands on a functioning, dormant G-unit... he could make all his dreams come true. It might even be a best-case scenario: he leaves Earth, the Ark with a million loyal Zoanoids (even if the full truth were revealed, I bet you could get a million volunteers from all over the world) in tow, leaving the rest behind. Unfortunately we also have Apollyon, in whose best interests it very much is to ensure Archanfel, nor any other Zoalord, gets his hands on a G-unit. (I wonder what the Remover would do to Apollyon? The Remover deletes user data from the control medallion, and Apollyon's armor is made from the same stuff...) Plus whatever is coming from space...
  3. Another one so soon? Sure...why not.
  4. Galerians! Gameplay description from Wikipedia: "Galerians is a survival horror game in the vein of early games in the Resident Evil series. Galerians employs the so-called "tank controls" scheme, in which pressing up causes the character to walk forward, while down causes the character to backpedal slowly. Graphics are made up polygonal characters on pre-rendered backgrounds. The player progresses through the game by finding items and clues which, when used in the appropriate locations, allow access to new areas. The key difference to Resident Evil is that Galerians does not employ gun-based combat, but instead features the use of psychic powers, which make it difficult to fight more than one enemy at a time. Rion has several types of psychic powers at his disposal. His offensive powers are enabled via drugs (which are known in the English version as PPECs [Psychic Power Enhancement Chemicals]). Because the number of vials of these drugs present in the game is finite, conservation is important. Rion's offensive powers have a 1-2 second charge time, making it important to find a safe interval before launching an attack. Enemies do not leave items and Rion does not gain experience for fighting them, encouraging the player to avoid combat where possible. There are three gauges that regulate Rion's status - a health meter that depletes as Rion takes damage, the AP meter which counts up when Rion takes damage, uses abilities, or is under stress, similar to a limit break mechanic and a drug meter that depletes as Rion uses his powers. When the AP meter is full, Rion loses control of his powers, releasing a continuous psychic assault that will kill non-boss enemies in a single blow. This condition, known as shorting, is fatal to Rion if allowed to go on too long."
  5. I can attest to this. I had Guyver Gigantic Dark. It broke in half when I was attempting to simply dust it off. I lifted it gently by its torso and the thing just fell apart. My heart sank to the floor. What really hurt was the fact that I found it at my local anime convention. It was the only Guyver figure I've ever seen there. I picked it up in a heartbeat. When it broke I was crushed. My advice is if you do decide to get an old Max Factory Guyver figure keep it in the box.
  6. The old figures sure haven't aged well. I'd you're handy with super glue, they are still great to own. The peg on the right hand of my gigantic guyver 1 broke the first time I tried to swap hands!
  7. Well to one comes in mind for me. Project Altered Beast. This was a sudo-sequel to the old saga game Altered Beast and is interestingly one of the few games we got in the UK but the US didn't. In the game you play as Luke Custer a man who has awakened inside a metal box in the middle of monster infested town with no idea who he is. When he is attack by mutated, zombie like creatures this happens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKulex5AQ08&nohtml5=False Luke it turns out is a Geno-Cyborg. With the help of speacial Genome Chips he can transform into a variety of different monsters for a period of time. During the game Luke will explore the town recovering Chips and regaining his memory but with all manner of mutated horrors lurking on every street, behind every tree and in the sky and water its not going to he easy. Worse yet he's is not the only Geno-Cyborg in the town. On the whole I love this game. Its not perfect but I find it really fun. Its play style is "beat em up" and with all the monster forms you can unlock you'll have a bawl tearing your way through hordes foes who will grow stronger has you progress and the boss fights are both fun and challenging. You will also have lots to unlock from data files on every creature you encounter, secret Genome Chips, Boss time attacks and the Elevator of Doom. However as I said its not perfect. While the graphics aren't that bad (at least to me anyway) some people have complained about them. The camera can be a pain and as with all beat em up their is a level of repetitiveness. Also the game dose lack a little of the polish others of this kind did at the time (Devil May Cry). That being said its clear to me that the creators of the game did put a lot of heart into the game. Also another big plus if your a Guyver fan is that this is the closest I've even gotten to a game that lets you play as a zoanoid. On a side note this is one of my top 10 games and has one of the hardest boss fights had (for me any way).
  8. You don't want those old figures anyway. Their durability was crap. Hold out for the possibility of a Figma.
  9. Sho would. He almost perfectly fits the bill. As far as I have come to understand, you have to meet three criteria to be able to heft Mjölnir (providing Thor is not wielding it himself, or forbids you from doing so): - You have to be brave. You have to engage threats and evil courageously. - You have to be honorable. You have to be honest and possess integrity. - You have to be a warrior. And this does mean that, should the need arise, you have to be prepared to kill. Wonder Woman could lift the hammer, when it crossed into the DC universe, and this is entirely logical, because of all superheroes and heroines, she is most like Thor. Honestly, if those ever became a couple... But Superman, who is stronger than she is, and brave and honorable to a fault, nevertheless could not lift the hammer. I don't know whether Batman would be able to, but I suspect he would not.... deception and mind games are a part of his arsenal, and he is very serious about not killing. Incidentally, Captain America is capable of lifting Mjölnir and has done so in the past. The Hulk, adversely, never has... although it is possible that one of personalities might be able to. Another Marvel hero who lifted Mjölnir was the alien, Beta Ray Bill - a warrior from the Korbinite race. He signed up, along with many others, to be subjected to a series of grueling tests, of which he ultimately was the only survivor; all so he could be cybernetically and genetically augmented into the champion and protector of his people, as their entire civilization migrated across space in a massive fleet of space ships. Again: Brave, honorable and a warrior. http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2006/08/15/top-five-non-thor-mjolnir-wielders/ In any case - Sho Fukamachi would be able to lift the hammer. And I don't think anyone else could, in the Guyver universe ('Guyverse'?).
  10. I hope they release the Figma Gigantic Guyver and Gigantic Dark. I missed the previous MaxF version coz low on cash during that period and now it's price have risen up alot.
  11. I don't believe in it anymore. It's not broadly popular enough. Not enough romance, battles too long and too slow. Let's face it, the dynamic of the Guyver story is extremely high-concept... "The war between the Guyver and Chronos". We NEVER had a side-story, we BARELY get character development, the characters are pretty flat as it is, core characters appear to be immortal and the whole thing is dragging on. This series is 31 years old and there is no end game in sight. Sho hasn't even met Archanfel in person since the battle at Mount Minakami. I follow Guyver because I want to know how it ends. Not because it engages me.
