  1. actually no. I don't think the same, more the opposite. it's true of humans that we are remarkably adaptive. that is essentially what guyver is about. humans are highlighted as a species that was able to adapt to many different situations and environments. There is something that is true of humans in our safe society. When we see suffering, we amplify it to try and empathise. it's a mechanism that keeps us afraid of bad stuff so we avoid it. but those of us who have truly suffered, can understand that in a lot of situations, we are able to cope with truly horrifying things. we have inbuilt mechanisms to numb pain, to keep us going, to lessen the impact of trauma etc. it is fear that makes it difficult for people to cope. but if we accept our situation, we can often cope very well. I have been wrongfully arrested in the past, and was shut in a police cell. I wasn't scared as I knew I was not in trouble, I was innocent. I simply sat and meditated on past events. I didn't suffer at all and when they opened the door a few hours later, I was perfectly fine. that's not such a bad situation and I have been through far worse, but I don't really feel comfortable sharing that other stuff right now.

  2. Human for sure... But ONLY I admit, because what I know about Chronos and their dealings as an outsider to the world. As a citizen of Guyvers Earth though? With all the propaganda? It would be a lot harder choice to be sure. I mean, they did just bring World Peace technically. And the offer to make yourself better genetically? That is pretty enticing.

  3. Yeah this is an interesting thread isn't it? Actually, the system in place here at Guyver-Advocacy is something that I immediately thought was backwards and silly but after a little thought, I soon came to realize that it's actually a pretty nice way of ensuring that the mangaka and the publishers get their dues. In an ideal world, more overseas based publishers would license more manga but when people are reading it online for free, it's almost business suicide to spend the large amounts of money that the Japanese publishers demand for the distribution rights of their properties. I can also understand though, that people who can't read Japanese might not want to take up precious bookshelf space with Japanese language books. It's not a perfect system but until an overseas company figures out how to monetize online manga reading where the creators get their fare cut of the proceeds, this system is probably the best it gets. Guyver will NOT be licensed again overseas in manga form. I know this because i'm personal friends with people like Stu Levy of TOKYOPOP and we have spoken about this title before in the past. Part of the problem lies in the fact that the story is STILL unfinished. The snail pace of the Guyver makes it an utterly "unthinkable acquisition" in terms of licensing from a publisher's perspective. As such, the price of such titles that are still ongoing, is automatically higher. ShonenJump titles like One Piece cost an absolute fortune but finished titles nowhere near. I'm rambling so sorry but, In all, I think GA have it right. That said, there is nothing stopping anybody else acquiring the raws and doing the Guyver for free. The fact that nobody else is bothering though is actually not a good sign concerning the manga's popularity. Who knows? Maybe somebody will come along and do it for free. If that happens, our system will be somewhat undermined but until then, let's keep the good vibe going!

  6. So how do you research a game before purchasing it? Do you often get buyer's remorse and think that you shouldn't have bought the game because the game play and story suck, or the game just isn't pleasing you at all? I like to look a game and get some information so that I know what I'm buying, whether I want, and not so I waste my money on something that I will regret. Its happened so many times when I was younger. I own up to the fact that I'm very picky with whatever game I want to play. I have even regretted buying the best games because they didn't fit in with my personal preference.

  7. After X-day. If you had the choice to become a low class zoanoid, or put in an application with Cronos to maybe become a Hyper Zoanoid in the far future. Would you? or would you want to stay human? Honestly. I'd want to stay human. I wouldn't want to be some zoalords puppet against the Guyvers or an enemy that would kill me out right because I would be easily over powered by them. Humans may not be as strong is that the zoalords don't have reign over their minds unless they're optimized as a zoanoid and thats my biggest issue.

  8. Ok Godzilla has done a lot of things over the years. He's been a hero, a villain and an environmentalist. He's traveled all over the earth and has even been to outer space. Hes fought with giant insects, dinosaurs, mutations, moth gods, robots, cyborgs, aliens, horrors spawned from his own cells and even a being created by the imagination of a child. He's even defied the laws of physics on more then one occasion. But this July the King of the Monsters is going on a dark and twisted journey unlike anything he has ever faced before. With no warning and no sign of salvation, Godzilla is plummeted to the deepest, darkest bowels of the infernal kingdom. This Year Godzilla Goes to Hell! "Abandon all hope ye who enter here!"

  9. I wonder how they're going to celebrate the holiday. I know the DBZ fans over in Japan are loving it and DBZ sales are probably sky rocketing.

  10. Sounds like he's up for a few issues of this. Sounds hard core. But I have faith that Godzilla will get out of this one.

  11. Going by the art work the hell he's going to is likely based on Dante's Inferno He will likely face the demons of hell, old foes looking for pay back, the souls of all the people he's killed and even Satan himself. But Hell is not just a place that tortures your body but also your mind and soul. This will be one of the hardest fights Godzilla's ever had.

  12. Ha! He's Godzilla. Not even Hell can break him! Actually. I wonder if he fights a hell beast or something....or maybe....he has to fight all the people he sent to hell. Oh...the many things of this comic!

  14. Sorry humanity I'm stabbing you right in the back on this one. Zoanoid all the way. It may come at the price of my freedom now and then but is a slave who chooses to be one really a slave? Cronos has done some deplorable stuff but then what governing power hasn't, they have also done a lot of good for the common man and some of the zoalords a pretty ok guys. Plus I could not turn down the chance to be a Zoanoid or the possibility of becoming a Hyper Zoanoid. However I respect the choices of my fellow humans if they dont want to change. I pledge myself to the serves of Lord Archanfel and the council.

  15. So just an update, I went to a group of broadcasting networks and I signed up to join their group. I went through the training procedure and am now certified to have my own show in cable and can use any and all studio equipment! I'm pretty excited but still will need some assistance from people in the studio. Hoping things turn around for the better.

  16. With Games, I am slightly different than movies. With Movies, if I see one or two trailers for a movie, and I like what I see, I will usually stop caring about watching any more, as I am already planning on seeing it, and watching too many trailers could spoil some plot. However, with games, I will watch cinematic trailers all day... But it doesn't do anything for me other than hype. I need gameplay trailers before I can really make a decent choice. So I end up watching a lot of trailers/footage of games. There has been too many times where cinematic trailers have hyped a game... only for the game to be a shitty mobile, or just plain poor game. Games are usually always at least 3-4 times more than a movie ticket, and while some have lots ( and I mean LOTS) of hours of enjoyment... But some are so short that it feels like a waste of money. Which is one of the biggest reasons why I like purchasing physical copies of games from a store... I can bring them back and at least get SOME of my money back.

  19. we don't need to worry about that. just keep doing what we are doing. all scanlations that go out to each person are unique with a code affixed to them. it's quite a subtle technique and easy to do en masse, so it doesn't take me too long but it's easy for me to trace it. people know that if they leak any scanlations they will get blacklisted so it's not a massive worry in my view.

  20. Sign... I know people like free stuff but it's not like Guyver is widely available. I'm hoping the current scans keep off the webs and basically force people to buy the content. Or at worse case if another group of Guyver fans get together to translate I'll eat an extra tacochips to get over the shock of there being more fans out there that can bother to put in the work you guys do.

  21. Its a good idea. But If we did make a list it wouldn't make sense to list Amazon or Ebay as those are the first two places people will look. A good place that I've found Guyver manga...and my brother gets alot of his manga from this site for really cheap is http://www.yesasia.com/us/en/home.html (Yesasia) and they have some really good deals on it. Yes, they sell the Japanese copies for pretty cheap. Here's the link to Guyver. You can get a volume for under 10 to 15 dollars. http://www.yesasia.com/us/search/guyver-the-bioboosted-armor/0-0-0-bpt.48_q.Guyver+The+Bioboosted+armor-en/list.html
