  2. Been thinking about this lately. Just with this forum in general. Nothing to do with the manga or the scanlations. My question as my exact question is if Yoshiki Takaya would be offended with some of our comments, feedback, and opinions? I know a few of the GA members have expressed disappointment in the past in a few threads on the forum. I'm not stating any of it was overly negative. But I'm wondering how Yoshiki would react to it all a as a scope or spectrum in general. I myself and a few of the other members....haven't exactly said nice things..but still constructive criticism about his work although we're hopeful and die hard fans. I know some of us get a little flustered on how slow things are or....why the west or some other countries hasn't taken a more....aggressive approach to the mangaka or what's been released. But I'm not entirely sure how sensitive he is to negative feedback based on his work and what not or what he's done to promote his work. I have a lot of curious thoughts towards why it was never an explosion and its hard not to get frustrated towards something you're passionate about. Just a thought. Anyone care to comment?
  3. I would hope that if he knew what we were saying, that it would get some kind of reaction... If only to maybe let him know that we like the series... But he's clearly not keeping up with basic standards of his colleagues or the industry. I have a feeling he's only being allowed to continue because of seniority. This would not fly at all in something like Shonen Jump. He should very aware that he is VERY lucky that they are still allowing him to put out whatever he does.

  5. I have to agree with Trico.. My only guess as of why Yoshiki is keeping his manga short is.... either he has a bad case of carpal tunnel or has an on going case of bad arthritis. However that is just my personal excuse why he's not doing more. That or other things are demanding his time and he's losing interest in his own work.
  6. Same complaints as before... Doesn't seem like there is much plot movement, and now its only characters we have not seen in a while reacting to old events... The dialogue could prove me slightly wrong... But we'll see.
  7. It was for the PS2 back in the day and it was based on the anime Xenosaga. Sadly, they were never ported over to PSN for download or to an HD version. But yeah, it was a fun JRPG to play. Still not understanding why they never ported it over as it was popular for its time. Now you never hear about it anymore.
  8. (you know this as your there) In Japan it's supported by a large number of other comics sold with it's monthly distribution. It's kinda hard for western fans to vision it but in Japan if you buy a monthly comic you have to buy a huge book like thing with countless other stories there. Keeping them any length of time isn't really an option as they are huge so if you want to keep your copy of Guyver you have to buy the yearly book. If not for that I don't think Guyver would have survived as long as it has. Yes, what you say is correct but, the other strips in the same monthly publication enjoy 20-30 pages each. The Guyver is only 10. I wouldn't be complaining if he wrote the same amount of pages as his "colleagues"...
  9. I'm not a big fan of it ether to be honest, Vegeta pulls it off better. The red hair of SS God suited him better.
  10. Crap, no post credits scene. Well Thor... As for the whole movie, it was ok. it was long though. I guess the movie was just that. Ok. Didn't see much epic moments there. and yeah, no post credits scene.
  11. I am not going to do a full rant, as Ryuki's original post pretty much covers part of it. But here's the funny thing. A lot of 30+ year old Anime fans in North America remember the Guyver. Why? The first half of the OAV. And that was mainly due to the amount of blood and gore. This is why ADV touted the 2005 series as the "New Face of Ultra Violence". Guyver WOULD be more fondly remembered if it were something that was still known for tons of blood and gore ( like how Attack on Titan is so popular ). Guyvers general premise is fine... But is SO old that it has been done over and over again. Both in animation and tokusatsu. And it only seems to get a break in terms of publication because of how long it has been running. Readers don't care though. If they pick it up now and see how old it FEELS, they will drop it. They don't care for the intricacies of the plot that we've got to know, because they aren't going to bother reading too far into the series to even care. Now, if the manga was more like the OAV and was a lot bloodier, it probably would be more well known over the years... But due to it's age and content... It's only really average. Less than if you count how often and how much it gets updated. I will admit, it was the first 6 episodes on the OAV that got me into Guyver... but I BET I wouldn't even be in this community if I hadn't started doing fan fiction back then. Now of course I still want more, but it is certainly disheartening as a fan when it seems it'll only end when the creator dies. Berserk is another series I read that has the same release issues... But at least it is consistently 20-22 pages each chapter. None of this 10-16 page crap that we get with the Guyver,
