more pics, the first two were taken in one of the train stations, the next six were taken at the senso-ji temple yesterday afternoon, and the final lot were taken in and around ueno park. loved the spooky temple at the end, there were loads of crows in the trees as well, jus wat u'd imagine in a scary anime,

Aw man. Ryuki, you didn't say anything on camera. I was looking forward to hearing what your voice sounded like.

well you hear dekared and i sound almost exactly like him to most people.

i have a fair few things to remind me.

I have two pairs of jeans that i wear regularly, an awesome detective style hat, my favourite yellow t-shirt.

I have something special. One day i was walking in Ueno by myself as we had decided to spend the day doing our own thing.

I had gone down some streets and was in a mostly residential area. i found a nice quiet shop, that might remind you of the game shenmue.

it had all sorts of old japanese stuff, unique things that are pretty old and pretty traditional. there was an old man sitting in there on his own.

this was the coolest shop you could imagine.

It was very special visit because he could not speak english and i could not speak japanese but we connected as best we could. he told me about some of the things in there. I tried my best to understand and recognised a few words.

I picked up one object, it looks like a spindle, I still have no idea what it is.

I decided to buy it, but the old man picked up something else. he put both together.

then he stated the price for one of them and then said something but i only recognised one word. "kokoro" which i know to mean "heart". and I realised what he meant. it was a gift from the heart.

so i bought the one that i wanted and graciously accepted his gift.

I would so very like to revisit that shop again someday.

perhaps one day when my japanese is good, I can go back and thank him properly. :)

oh wow, i never heard that story before. that is so lovely, it gave me a lump in my throat when i read that. i wish you had told me that story on the plane back home or somat. wow bro, my closest experience like that was when we were in akihabara, i think the last night, and we were in that scroll shop. looking through old books written on parchment. that guy was very friendly, and was trying to communicate, even tho none of us could understand the other. i'm just sorry i couldn't afford to buy you that book you wanted. lol, and that old guy outside ueno park, who did our names in kanji on parchment for us, he was sooo funny. i like the way you went and got me change, while i stayed with him, because i realised the next day, that was when you went and bought my b'day present. lots of wonderful memories :)
