H222G981 Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 So. The last great Guyver media was back in 2005-2007. It's 2016 and I'd really like to see another reboot anime version that actually goes along with the manga and has a few seasons. The 2005 version was short and sweet ending too quickly leaving us wanting more. Unfortunately at this point I'm sure we're all hoping here. But perhaps 2005 was the last we've soon. More or less. Anyway. Who here checks every now and than to see if some Japanese studio has or thought about working on this old classic? Quote
Salkafar Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I don't believe in it anymore. It's not broadly popular enough. Not enough romance, battles too long and too slow. Let's face it, the dynamic of the Guyver story is extremely high-concept... "The war between the Guyver and Chronos". We NEVER had a side-story, we BARELY get character development, the characters are pretty flat as it is, core characters appear to be immortal and the whole thing is dragging on. This series is 31 years old and there is no end game in sight. Sho hasn't even met Archanfel in person since the battle at Mount Minakami. I follow Guyver because I want to know how it ends. Not because it engages me. 3 Quote
*guyverfan Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 i think we'll see a part two to the 2005 anime after we've seen the final ending to guyver comic. Quote
McAvoy Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 To be honest, the early chapters especially those covered by 2005 anise was great. But the later ones is muddled and really you need more character development. Which does work for filler to make the series expand more. Quote
*PrimalNemesis Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I check often. I'll never give up hope that someday there will be a new Guyver anime. I also think it's very likely we could see something Guyver related after the manga is finally finished. 1 Quote
PowerofGuyver Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 I'd say the odds of newer Guuyver media would be higher when the manga ends. That way directors, producers, writers, have full access to the story. And honestly, that last episodes of the 2005 Guyver series was the most rushed thing I had ever seen. Left sour taste in my mouth. Even if the next anime series doesn't end where the manga does, I hope it's ending is more conclusive. Quote
McAvoy Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 The last episodes don't feel rushed to me. They followed the Manga pretty faithfully. But I guess they could have added more character development into it or perhaps more filler like X Day or Agito and Zeus Thunderbolt. Ending it with the appearance of the Gigantic was a excellent point. If they had a second season then that would be a great point to jump off of. Maybe add filler scenes talking about the Gigantic from both sides. Adding more about the post X Day stuff. Maybe add more about Imakarum. Hell, we got enough fans to potentially create our own. Use the scenes out of the Manga and create maybe short episodes. Have someone color the originals and then perhaps make a limited movement look to them. 1 Quote
