You know. I'm thinking maybe zoalords had something to do with religion in society in Guyver. Not that its mentioned. But lets say if Christianity and other religions existed in Guyver. Would it have something to do with Alkanphel? I figured its only natural for him to play as a deity and tell humans what to do seeing as they weren't zoanoids and they came to worship him. They would see him as god or as a god. After all. The zoanoids worshiped him so much that they built a temple around him. So I'm just thinking. Maybe he went around and started a bunch of religions with humanity before going into hibernation and after he made his fellow zoalords who probably went around taking advantage of their god like powers.

Thoughts?

No, I don't think I agree. Archanfel was in bio-stasis for a really long time. Perhaps even from shortly after him stopping the asteroid, right until Barkas found him circa 1600. I don't think he interrupted his sleep, otherwise he surely would have started Chronos much sooner.

And let's look at Archanfel's mindset versus any known godly archetypes. He fits none of them. With the possible exception of Asatru (Norse religion) which venerates battle and death on the battle field.

Hmmm. If Zoanoids had any religion besides blind obedience to the Zoalords it would be Asatru, I think.

But Archanfel's own psychology is so utterly non-'godly'. How would he even think up commandments? He has no needs, he is complete within himself. He doesn't even need to eat or drink, he needs no shelter (I mean, the temple is nice, but he could just lay down wherever to sleep so long as he could be reasonably sure he wouldn't be disturbed. But he could just bed down atop K2 for that, for instance), no clothing. Wealth means nothing to him and there is no reason to assume he would have sexual desires since reproduction and intimate relationships do not jibe with his job description. He commands armies and that's it. He does not get older, and while he appears beautiful, he probably has no concept of that, either.

So he has no desires we would understand at all. And likewise he would not understand ours. He does not need to vie for power or compete with anyone because that's implicitly impossible in the scheme of things.

No, Archanfel is no god... and he wouldn't play god, either. If anything you'd think he'd find the concept distasteful. He knows we were created, he knows why we were created and he also knows our creator rejected us. Depressing! Imagine knowing without a shadow of a doubt that there is somebody up there... and he hates you.

...

You know, you'd think he and the Guyvers would make natural allies. But he needs a Unit. Once he finds out Guyot's still alive, that should have some interesting consequences. I wonder if he still has the Remover. I doubt Guyot can still use it - it probably requires more bio-energy than he can muster now.

...

Were any of the other Zoalords religious? Or have they ever used religion to their own ends? Again I'd have to say "I don't think so". The necessity of remaining hidden would preclude that. Although? Maybe the Illuminati were a Chronos operation.

Perhaps Archenfel didn't have anything to do with religion directly, but perhaps those that witnessed Archenfel's power first hand after the Uranus left could have portrayed Archenfel as a god.  Perhaps Archenfel was a figure head that various religions were based off of.

Well considering any known sighting of Archanphel were during caveman times and just before the ice age, I'd say very few would even remember, save for cave paintings... And then at best a small sect of people might still have had enough knowledge to believe in the old old sighting... But the major religions would have wiped that out long ago.

As mentioned, he doesn't really "fit" with any of the current major religions. It IS possible that there may have been some followers, but they probably died out/killed long long ago.

And though Dark Hero did have the cave painting idea, Dark Hero is not part of the Manga continuity.

I've actually thought long about this myself Jup. I don't think Archanfel would find the concept of being worshiped as anything other than a complete waste of time, and not care at all about it. In fact, he may kill those who even "knew" he existed and worshiped him, simply for knowing he existed. Archanfel want's nothing but total secrecy. If you know he exists you die. That's probably where the entire concept came from for Chronos to use in their operations. Anyone who sees a Zoanoid must die. Now, Guyot's a different matter entirely. Sense he was a human before being transformed into a Zoalord he "understands" things that Archanfel can not, as Salkafar so eloquently put it.

However, having said that, I do believe Archanfel was inspired by Christ. I put a lot of thought into this and ultimately have come to this conclusion. The gods in the Heaven are the Creators, their son, the ultimate being, and perfect in every way was Archanfel. Destined to lead. He's entirely opposite of Christ. A killer, merciless, a sadist and so on. His Zoalord council was inspired by the twelve disciples. Takaya just forgot the twelfth member and only has a total of eleven. Remember also that many ancient religions taught their gods lived in the stars, were star-people, that came from the heavens or outer-space and so on.

I've noticed many people have come to see Archanfel as somewhat of a good leader or a nice guy. Let me remind everyone Archanfel is a sadistic, merciless, cruel and cold ruthless leader. He'll kill anyone and everyone who gets in the way of his plans. And kill his own men if they so much as look at him. Heck, if anyone knows he even exists, that he doesn't want to know, he'll kill them. He doesn't merely kill them either, he does it in the most agonizing ways possible. He seems to rather enjoy doing so too.

I know this is heavily labored, but to extend on what you said Mirabilis about comparing Archenfel to Christ.  When Mirabilis became a Zoalord he is technically the 12th one created (excluding Archenfel) and thus this would be like all 12 desciples coming into formation and what of Guyot being the representation of Judas who tried to kill Archenfel/Christ and thought to have succeded when Archenfel was sucked into the Virtual Blackhole, only to have  "risen" and thus began the fall of Guyot/Judas.

Well put, I somewhat thought about Mirabilis becoming the twelfth but never put too much thought in it. The problem was, There was Christ then twelve disciples. So if Archanfel is inspired by him, then he would only have eleven Zoalords at any given time. With Archanfel added, then there is twelve. Christ was "above" the disciples, not one of them. So I think Takaya was just short of one. But like you said, I do agree with Guyot representing Judas. I've always felt that way about him. But great example of the "rising from the grave"! As Barcas said: "Even death bows before his strength!"

Darn. That never occurred to me, Christ and twelve disciples, including a traitor, plus a 'most beloved one' (like John). It would almost have to be an inspiration at some level.
