July 28, 201411 yr Would anyone say that Sho might be depressed or have a lot of anxiety; maybe some post traumatic stress from fighting his constant battles with Cronos? Also, some anxiety and worry about what could happen to Mizuki and Tetsuro as well. I know in the anime after the unit killed his father, Sho had a nervous break down and couldn't use the unit for a while. How is it possible Sho was mentally blocking the Unit from equiping to him after his father died? Post Traumatic Stress?
July 28, 201411 yr Well... he was able to recover from his father transformation into enzyme I and the fact that he killed him with his own hands (although unconscious). I don't think he has any PTS. and btw he is the hero
July 29, 201411 yr the reason he couldn't transform was probably subconscious PTS... but as we have seen he got over that . I honestly don't think he could have got this far having depression or suffering from anxiety as these things can cripple people... the type of things sho has been through either create a person who can flow with situations and do their best without it creating to much mental anguish or the polar opposite a person that will not function normaly at all... there maybe people who suffer with these kinds of things and function to some degree but I don't think there is any middle ground in Sho's situation he has killed his own father, he is the main target of a world wide organisation consisting of monsters and very powerful demigod like beings and he has the fate of humanity in his hands... hes battle hardened now. sure he'll be worried about Mizuki and Tetsuro but hes not going to stop until he gets them back.... if they both died then maybe PTS would kick in after the end of the entire saga as he had lost the most important things to him , BUT short term im guessing we would see some tears, but i doubt he'd lay in bed doing nothing or be too scared to leave his hideout, he'd bioboost, call the Gigantic, Exceed and then smash the crap out of all of Cronos and Archanfel.
July 29, 201411 yr Yep, Sho's a lot more battle hardened now, he's smarter, stronger, and he was able to beat Agito in a one on one fight without hardly having to do any harm to him. That, and Sho is fighting for the right reasons, vs Agito's (at least until recently) mixed motives. I don't think that Sho will stop until Chonos is defeated and his friends are (at least relatively) safe. The world as he knew it will probably never be the same, but it seems he's come to terms with that.
July 31, 201411 yr depression is the result of feeling powerless. Out of all the characters in Guyver, that is not Shou. Shou has the power to make a difference and as such, he is probably in a good mental state. He is beseiged in many ways and he probably has some anxiety about that, but mostly, he knows he can always take action. He has a mission and purpose. If anyone were depressed it would be Mizuki. I think this has been shown in the series as well.. I recall times when she has expressed a feeling of helplessness. The time when she went to look for her parents, very indicative of desperation and depression.
August 8, 201411 yr Well, Sho start off showing immediate symptoms of all this. Partly from shock, partly from fear, and partly from having to fight for his life. He eventually overcame them. It wasn't until his fathers death that he had to deal with a solid case of depression. At this point he doesn't suffer from the symptoms heavily. He's a warrior at this point. Not a trained one, but one through battle. He has that mental fortitude. His friends however, not so good. Agito has doubts. Shizu has had mental breakdowns and plagued by obsession and fear of loss. Mizuki has had depression, but hasn't suffered it lately. Tetsuro was on the verge of a mental breakdown himself not too far back. Out of Chronos we have Imakirum. Who has suicidal thoughts when he fails.

August 9, 201411 yr I don't have any scans on my computer, but remember his request to Arky about letting him die for failing. Maybe suicidal isn't the correct term, but I couldn't think up a more accurate term, maybe a Death Wish comes close. It's somewhere between those two.
August 9, 201411 yr Actually, I believe that was Barcus begging for mercy after letting things getting out of control.

Maybe suicidal isn't the correct term, but I couldn't think up a more accurate term, maybe a Death Wish comes close. It's somewhere between those two. Didn't Arky give Barcas an order to quit verbally slamming himself for every time he failed in his presence whilst they were at the island? Also, Arky has never been angry at Barcas for screwing up. Anyone notice this or is it just me?
February 23, 201511 yr He has been annoyed, but never agry per say. But you do see him exploring alternative means of controlling his zoalords outside of just trusting in Barcus. Apparently Barcus isn't threatening enough while Alky sleeps.

Apparently Barcus isn't threatening enough while Alky sleeps. I've noticed most of the other zoalords have a habit of doing stuff behind Barcas's back starting with Richard who believed he didn't have to follow zoalord guidelines, that and he didn't heed Alky's warning not to piss him off in the anime.
