durendal Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 So, have any of you guys seen Street Fighter: Assassin's fist? If not, then I would suggest that you do. This is not a hollywood movie. This is fan made, but professionally made, it was even sponsored by a big company. Suffice to say, Hollywood should learn from these guys. It's available on Youtube and I think the whole movie was split into 12 videos of 12 minutes each. Very cool fight scenes, as the actors themselves are martial artists. The effects also looks natural and isn't even showing any signs of it being forced. I mean, it's definitely something that would make fans of the series happy. If you've played the game, you definitely have to watch this. Heck, the dialogue even flows so well and naturally, that you won't cringe when they speak out their attack names. Oh, and this is live-action! FTW!!! Quote
*V Guyver Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Haven't heard of it. But will google it up, so thanks for the reference. Always loved street fighter, great potential for story, but people keep screwing up the basics. I also recommend Steet Fighter: Ten Years Later. A fantastic parody and deep fan love for the series. durendal Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 Well, here's the teaser trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyVO0NLoLWE Quote
durendal Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 Another thing that I liked about this is probably because most of the dialogue is in Japanese. They didn't "westernize" the series and stayed traditional. Since the setting is in Japan, they did a good job maintaining the setting by having most of the characters speak in Japanese. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I freaking loved this. They found the perfect Guy for Ken, and Ryu was also really good. Yeah, the acting was a bit amateurish, but still well enough done to be great overall. If they cut this together for a DVD release, I am totally buying it. Quote
xfool Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Its nice but kinda disappointed that the fight between Gouken and Akuma did not happen in the end. Quote
RazorLaser Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Absolutely loved it! It made me rediscover my love for Street Fighter. Ken was perfect. Ryu could have been done better in my opinion. I can't wait for the next one (if it ends up happening). Quote
*V Guyver Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Well certainly better than any of the Hollywood movies. So that is impressive on it's own for the limited resources for this cast and crew. Quote

I can't wait for the next one (if it ends up happening). yeah Ryu is kinda pudgy compared to Ken, how the hell is he so out of shape if both of them have been doing the same training lol Quote
*ScottmanXIII Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I've just finished watching this - it was awesome. Although it did somewhat demotivate me in my Taekwondo training - it hit home that if I really want to be stronger & fitter I need to live in the middle of nowhere with no job, wife or worldy possessions. I currently train in class twice a week - it's a slow road. Quote
