Eating too much porkchops isn't really helping your heart.  Actually, eating too much of anything is bad for you no matter what they are.  I use to love porkchops, but now I'm leaning more on steaks.  Filet Mignon, medium rare, is by far my favorite steak.  Had the best one when I was in Indianapolis.

Speaking of meat, Kobe beef wasn't as big a deal as I expected.  It does melts in your mouth but it's full of fat.  Not that it's a bad thing, but I guess this is more of personal preference.  Kobe beef is tender, but I prefer the traditional wagyu.  There was this restaurant in Japan that we ate and we were first given the traditional Wagyu, and then Kobe beef after to compare.  In terms of tenderness, Kobe beef wins hands down.  But in terms of taste, I prefer the traditional Wagyu.

I usually don't eat very much red meat, but I've been wanting pork chops for a while now and I usually don't ask too much for groceries.  I'd also consider making more fried chicken but we need a new electric skillet/fryer/whatever it's actually called.

I usually bake my pork chops in a shake and bake deal, because when I try and fry them with a flour coating (like fried chicken) they rarely come out the way I want them too.

BTW, I didn't make them last night.  The wrap things I made and a bowl of cereal was enough for me.  However, once the storms and crap we're having here move out, I'll be probably making them tonight.

when someone tells me that eating something isn't healthy for me. I ask them "Are you going to live forever?' the answer to that question is always NO, no matter how many times they tell you or you ask them that. We're all going to die some day. Some sooner than others. High blood pressure runs in my family. I'd rather jump head on into life and eat what I want and die later. So, if someone wants to die eating something that isn't good for them, thats their right. Some people have eaten unhealthy their whole lives and some of them live to be 80-95 years old. I don't think it matters. We'll die from something else long before we die of high cholesterol or high blood pressure. We could get cancer, a horrible STD, or severe food poisoning before it gets to that.

Well, that's right, and heart disease, cancer and diabetes runs in my family.  Besides, as long as you don't venture out on to the roads with the friggin' maniacs who drive around here, there's plenty of space for me lot walk around provided that the weather isn't inclement, such as today!

I finished the wrap thing that I had left over from last night.  Pro tip:  Don't leave it in the fridge overnight.  Pretty good, but the areas of the wrap that had no meat or cheese on it dried out.

Going to be drinking a ton of drink mix stuff today to get rid of some of that stuff.  As mentioned, hopefully the storms will clear out before I decide to make dinner tonight.  If I had corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, I'd have a complete meal for the next 2-3 days.  But I only have the pork chops, but those usually last me a couple of days.

Well, as I said, this stuff will last me a couple of days once I get it made.  I also like pork sausage, preferable tube bulk sausage.  And I love ice cream.  This is stuff that it could be supposed that I shouldn't have a lot of, but then, I do reserve the right to be happy while eating.

BTW, I'm on my 2nd glass of the drink mix stuff.  First it was cherry, now it's fruit punch.  I also have a couple of turkey/provolone/pepper jack/pepperoni sandwiches.  I ran out of the wraps last night, so I'm eating the stuff in actual sandwich form.

Ah, health issues.  How nice it is to be young and carefree.  Let's talk about this again after 10 years.

I used to be like that.  Eat whatever I wanted without a care in the world.  I was able to eat two whole pizza by myself in one sitting.  Then a lot of my friends started getting sick.  Now there's too many things they can't eat.  They had too many medications for maintenance, and it's something that will make you think:  Do you want to be like them?  Maybe some of their habits rubbed off on me.  At least I'm proud to say that I'm free from any form of medication.

You guys are right though.  It's not for me to say what you can and can't eat.  Enjoy your life by all means.  I'm just saying that if and when we hang out, I won't be able to keep up with you guys.

Good God!  I feel so old just saying that.

Well, I had sausage instead, mostly because I went to sleep soon after and I didn't get back up until 10:00 this morning.  I'll be eating those pork chops later tonight, though.

My pork chops were pretty good.  I still have some left over that I might eat while watching a NASCAR race tonight.  Then tomorrow night, I'll be choosing between a home-made pizza and chicken nachos.

it'll be too easy to just drop dead from eating all the wrong and unhealthy foods. unfortunately it takes alot of time and during that time are alot of illnesses. but the biggest burdon doesn't fall on that individual but on their family because their dependance on them becomes greater.

for example, one of my older brothers. when he was younger he'd eat afew pie's, ice coffee, cola, burgers and the stuff. he was really overweight, but no matter how often i'd warn him about diabetes and heart disease, stomach cancer and liver disease, etc, he'd just get pissed off, argue with me and just continue eating like he was saying it's his life and he'll do what he wants.

2years ago, he sits with me and tells me he has some bad news to tell me, that he's been diagnosed with diabetes, but it's borderline and if he acts fast he won't have to inject himself but he's prescribed tablets for the rest of his life.

how does this affect me? well the diabetes has caused problems with his eyesight and he requires to go to hospital every month to have lazer treatment to destroy some type of liquid/growth on the back walls of his eyeballs.and eventually he may loose his eye sight all together.

well, thankyou bro for living your life, unfortunately i have to take time out of mine to look after you now and take you to your appointments, as he's partially blind after lazer treatments and takes most of the rest of the day to get his vision back.

sometimes i just tell him to catch a bus to the hospital and then wait it out before catching one back home and don't get upset with me since all those years ago he was telling me and everyone else to get f@ck'd!

so what im trying to say is live your life as you want, but be thoughtful of the future and your family and don't be upset or angry with family and friends if they suddenly just give up.

anyway, enough of that.

tonight i made some lentil soup with chopped onions, tomatoes, garlic, carrots, some olive oil, heaped table spoon of tomato paste and acouple of bayleafs.

the best way to clean the lentils is to boil them twice. that is leave them in a pot with water over heat and just as the water is about to boil, take them off the stove and strain and rinse them. this will get all the chemicals out as well. then back in the pot with fresh water, back on the stove and add the rest of the ingredients on a low to medium heat, simmer for about 45minutes., giving acouple of stirs inbetween.

I'll be trying for a pork chop dinner tonight.

Last night, I had a sausage patty and some stronganoff pasta, and I just had some Italian and Vienna bread with some butter.

Posted

Having some bread with garlic butter right now.  Later, I'll be trying for some chicken nachos, and I'll be swapping that for a pizza I plan on having for F1 practice tomorrow night.  If not, then it'll be some pasta, with the nachos for F1 practice and a pizza later on in the weekend.

Having some really good Italian bread with butter, and I'll be having a bowl of cereal soon.

Tonight, I might be having pork chops for dinner, or maybe a pizza :)

I had my chicken nachos last night and they were great :)

Tonight, I'm thinking of bacon ranch chicken pasta salad or possibly a pizza or something.

And something really good, cold, day old Irish cream-flavored coffee :)

Had some phenomenal chicken bacon ranch pasta salad last night.  I still have some left over.

BTW, I finally, after nearly a year figured out what Irish cream is.  It's cream flavored with Irish whiskey and brown sugar.  Most of the Irish cream coffee creamer doesn't have alcohol in it, though.

For dinner tonight, it's a toss up between fish and pizza.

Best Tex-Mex stuff I've had is my home made chicken nachos :)

Just had a sandwich wrap with chicken, bacon, pepperoni, Swiss and Pepper Jack cheese, and it was some great stuff.  Now I'll have a bit of a turkey sub.

Some stuff.

1:  Home made sandwich wraps are about the best thing ever.

2:  I love the new Chips Ahoy root beer float flavored cookies.

3:  Walmart's Garlic and Herb French and Italian breads are about the greatest thing ever.

4:  Land O Lakes butter tastes great, but I'd recommend that it be microwaved for a few seconds to soften it so it can be spread.

5:  Herr's Kansas City Steakhouse chips are great.

I might be making a pizza tonight while watching the re-air of a NASCAR race.
