*LordNemesis Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 So I was wondering what it would be like for a Guyver to be placed in a space type environment? Could a Guyver space walk? Does a Guyver have any oxygen stored somewhere so that it can breath in a vacuum? Can a Guyver survive being hit by space debris? So many things to think about. What is the Advocacy's opinion on this? Quote
Guest snow Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Is there a place in the manga where it is brought up? I have no idea, I dont know why I commented lol. Clueless really. Edited March 2, 2014 by Jupiter-Prime Quote
RazorLaser Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I think a Guyver could easily survive in space. Quote
river_chaos Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Well, Guyvers 1 and 3 survived swimming through the Relic's liquid stuff, so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to say they could survive in a vacuum like environment. Quote
Larz Zahn Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 The Guyver armor is used as the uranus's environment suit, which i would say should also count as a space suit. It has the grav controller so a space walk is not needed. It is a tough armor and can regen so bring hit by space debris isn't a major issue. Extreme temp might not be a big deal since we seen Guyver one take derzerb's napalm breath. Quote
Matt Bellamy Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Judging solely on the fact of the breathers on the face-plate, and how we have seen them operate, I would assume that they might be able to survive for a limited time in space, but like humans, they probably require oxygen to survive indefinitely. The extremes in temperature probably would not be too much of a problem, considering what we've seen the Guyver survive in battles. While it is unknown if they gravity controller would work in a zero-g environment is another question. How can you manipulate gravity, if there is none? It is also unknown if the Guyvers weapons require oxygen to operate. Just like fire needs oxygen to burn, does the head beam need oxygen to work? Mega-smasher? Will the Sonic busters work at all if there is no sound? Sooo many variables. Quote
*LordNemesis Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Another thing to think about is what if the host is deprived of oxygen? What if the host is suffocated in the vacuum of space? Would the Guyver unit go into self defense mode to preserve the host? Could the Guyver unit itself survive without oxygen? Quote
Guest snow Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited)
Isn't the Guyver unit itself Bio-mechanical? Meaning its bio part being the part where it gets a host and the rest machine? so I'd assume it could survive in space without a host. I dont think the unit itself needs to breath or cares about how cold it gets. Sho and the Guyver unit have been through Hell so I dont think sub-zero degree temps are going to hurt it that much, after all it goes into a dimension after Sho and Agito are done using it,theres no telling what goes on in the dimension that it drifts around it. It must be some time warp, a void with nothing. Like no temp no anything. Much like space. After all Chronos kept the units on ice at the beginning of the series. As long as the control metal stays in tact it should be fine,un less an asteroid smashes into it really hard.
Edited March 4, 2014 by Jupiter-Prime Quote
*V Guyver Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Humans can survive in the vacuum of space. So it's fair to say the Guyver would have very limited powers. Reasons why Humans die in space. Radiation: Exposure will eventually kill you. -Not a real issue for the Guyver, seems the Guyver armor and Relic Ships are similar, thus radiation proof. Even if not, the cells would repeatably heal. Vacuume: You can't breath, also of oxygen, obviously. If exposed to the vacuum and not prepared, you would could suffer lung trauma. Your eyes don't get pulled out of your head like popularly thought. -Self contained suit would prevent most of this. Guyver can survive for extended periods for certain. However, I doubt it's indefinite. Gigantic shouldn't have this as much of an issue. Space: Floating until dead unless given cords or thruster gear. -We don't know if the Guyver simply manipulates gravity around it, or generates it. If unable to generate, the Guyver can still move around without an issue so long as he is near a gravity field, like a planet or a moon, even an asteroid. It would be weaker though the further away, thus slower. On the other hand, the Sun generates powerful gravity too, so maybe the Guyver can still move around. Noteworthy is the Guyver Gigantic Jets. They don't rely on air intake, thus can maneuver. Sound: No air, few and far in between what objects are around. -So no sonic busters. I'm certain. Subzero Space: Humans can survive the cold. Not sure for how long though. According to NASA, heat fails to escape your body all that fast because there is nothing for it to escape too according to the laws of thermodynamics. However, the moister on your body, eyes, nose, and ears would boil... mostly due to the temperature difference alone. -Guyver is isolated and further protected by it's armor for extreme environments. However his head beam might be weakened since it relied on excess body heat. Anything else we might be missing. Quote
