Had this for years, can't recall seeing it on the net and was talking to Sully about scanning things so I thought I'd scan this.

Artist is Steve Kyte. date is 1995.

The article is not worth reading though tbh so don't bother asking. :P

it's rife with mistranslations and inaccuracies and has no interviews with anyone of importance.

If this issue of Anime UK contained a section about the Guyver that was written by Patricia A. Munson-Siter, then you may have found a text-based copy of the article on my Web site, Guyver Four's - Bio Booster Armor Guyver Web Site, before Guyver Solution was created.  The Guyver Files section that was once found on the old Web site may return as a part of The Fans section on the Guyver Solution Web site when it is developed.

great stuff!

I've never heard of a ticket magazine before.

this could be good to go on our merchandise page?

the drawing is really nice. it makes the design look really good. It's not identical to the movie, is it?

It's an official booklet they released in Japan with the first movie. Rare as hell, only seen 2 so far and came with a CD

actually it is Ryuki, that design looks exactly like the movie guyver suit, to be more specific the second movie guyver, minus the texture.

No problem, I'll finish scanning it today so it can be hosted here in it's complete form. Just let me know when it's being saved and I'll delete it from my sites temp folder. It's got some more nice stuff and pictures of Takaya on set and Steve Wang and Screaming Mad George.

It's kinda strange, this movie had the better merchandise in Japan than the second movie which has next to nothing yet was a far better movie :/

Speaking of scans, I've 2 Town Mook (its the data files basically for the first movie and loads of other stuff, I think during my lurker days you guys put up few pages of it), I bought the second copy for ripping apart and getting decent scans from. Would that be handy for here?

Edit: And what Odin said is kinda correct, but this booklet was for the first movie, not the second.

yea, I noticed but I just said that it looks a lot more like the 2nd movie version. Thanks for clearing that out anyways. :)

town mook book?

I think lost unit was doing something with that. I'm sure he'd be delighted to have assistance with that.

I translated some parts from these first pages. where there is lots of kanji and no furigana, I've left a hash # because i'm too lazy to look them all up right now. (it really does take ages to hunt them down)

I seem to remember proto-guybaa or someone else who used to use these forums talking about how desperately they wanted that Guyver Tickemaga book. It's pretty awesome to see that someone actually has it! Those pictures of Takaya and Steve Wang sound very interesting Sully!

thought i would have a bash at typesetting this i know its not complete but i can wait for the whole translation if there is gonna be one. I was a bit bored and wanted to do something guyver oh well.

Nice work :)

I spent a lot longer than expected today fixing up the old Guyver 4 gallery removing the Fortunecity crap from 30 odd html files that made up the gallery.

Anyway getting some more scans done now so while I don't think I'll finish it tonight, at least a fair amount of it will be done.

awesome stuff,

I need to look at these properly tomorrow.

Hey Sully, where did you get that text, did you type that out from reading the book, or was it sourced from teh CD or something?

Posted

it was just inside the same bag the Tickemaga was in. Then itself was in a smaller wrapper with a kinda very soft paper around it (it was scanned inside that wrapper).

The only time I've seen it, they both came from the same place. Yahoo.co.jp's actions.

One was about 15 years ago, David Carpenter got it (aka BioWeapons.com).

it was 10+ years later I found one and my sister that lives in Japan got it for me and it cost me about 100 Euro in Yen about 10 to 12000 Yen or about 80 UKP.

Interesting how much media there was in the early to mid '90s there was about Guyver, considering that Manga and Anime was only a "cult" phenomena (this was still a few years away from it becoming truly entrenched in pop culture), and it was also a while before the modern internet age, too.
