thanks salkafar, bbdude :)

I did just remember one issue. I recall the framerate of the original clip was not constant. I animated in twos ( that is repeating each frame twice) whereas the original clip is not completely consistent and sometimes has 3 frames and sometimes has 2.

also, the rames are slightly blended at times. probably deterioration due to transferring to diffrent sources and alteration of framerate along the way.

   amazing.

it doesn't seem to fit in.

Yeah, you need to reduce the quality of your work in order to fit in 07 episode  Or remake ALL episode=make it from scratch

heh heh, I would love to do that... but it is crazy work to do by myself.

it took a few nights to do a 3 second clip

animating is difficult, but to be honest, a lot of the work that takes more time is the colouring work and stuf that somebody else could potentially do. no animation skill is necessary for that. so if anyone was thinking about offering to help but think they cannot animate, please say so and we could work on something. the animation itself is merely lines.

this is insane and amazing at the same time. if only they would remaster the 12 part ova! well your effort is pretty impressive dude the way you kept the perspective of the face on the head turn is great.. without remastering everything it does look too good / modern to suit the rest of the scene though.

what really needs changing in that scene is the G1 body at the beginning - it looks like its melting or being eaten by the host creature the way its so deformed!!!! i guess it is a styleised interpretation - but i just dont get why????

yep, I agree. i guess it would be relatively simple to fix that shot considering that guyver is not actually moving in it.

I'm not really good at drawing guyver from scratch though so I'd need to hunt down a manga frame with that kind of pose in it.

this might work.

I've been working on a basic line rendition to see if i could get the dimensions right.

take a look and see what you think.

To be constructively critical, I think on frame 7 the 'nose' and the laser mount thingy that covers part of the control medal are a bit too far out. Doesn't feel consistent with the previous frames, and looks off to me compared to the 'official' profile view to which I'm most accustomed:

Have you considered making a full portrait to profile sketch animation? I'm a sculptor, myself, and front and side views of a subject are essential for me to make a physical 3D model of a subject.

Lindsay,

Good eye!

thanks for the criticism. you are absolutely right of course and I was focusing on that a lot with my revisions to the animation later on. that is why if you look at the finished work, it is a lot better.

I did use a profile pic of guyver drawn by takaya sensei himself for the work so the end profile is about as correct as it can get. the animation was definitely off though as you rightly pointed out.

the reason is that i was tracking it too fast for the rest of his face.

Oops, I overlooked the whole of the second page!

The thing in that episode that always bothered me was the panning over the Zoanoids at the start of that clip. Or rather, the repeated loop of one short pan with vaguely similar start and end frames.

yeah I thought about whether there was anything I could do about that, but that would mean creating extra shots. creating entire new content seems a bit too ambitious for just me.

You could always copy and paste images of other zoanoids over a cropped background, and afterwards redraw them, you'd only need to actually do the main three as still and depending on the quality of the others you posted, you wouldn't have to redraw those at all.

the shots themselves are awkward. I think what might need to be done is to slow them down, in which case they would need to be slightly animated. or something.

Hmm, slight facial movements, eye squinting slightly and the jaw move (or maybe just the tongue XD) Actually, that entire shot should of been redone, but I was thinking of reanimating it like the thread implied.

In redoing that entire shot, having Sho in 3rd person stand in the middle above the waist only visible, and have their silhouettes/backs of the zoanoids rotate around him, all in varying sizes, Sho doesn't need to be animated, but his head can be turned if you do want to animate it some. I think this the best compromise between animation investment for you, and getting a decent shot.
