Thanks to Channel RED, I get some of my live-action fix from that cable channel.  Just recently, I've seen Paradise Kiss.  Saw it by chance and was glued to the TV.  Little did I know that it was actually a manga.  The movie does have some famous faces, Osamu Mukai who also starred in Atashinchi no Danshi, as well as Yusuke Yamamoto, who we all know as Kamen Rider Sasword.  I'd imagine not many of you would want to watch this seeing how this movie is romance drama.

Finished watching Kiva and got reminded why I love it so much, specially Otoya era the character chemistry is amazing and Otoya is my favorite character in it and would definitely would have loved to have him as a father, now I'm watching Kabuto, I remember loving the character design and Kagami but had mixed feelings about the series overall so I'm going to re-watch it again to see how it holds out since i don't really remember much about it, I may give Blade another shot or just jump straight to Ryuki since I really want to compare it to the first rider series I ever watch which is dragon knight.

yusuke yamamoto... I love that guy! he is so awesome. if he was a girl, I would definitely fancy him. well actually there is a girl I have seen that is very similar to him and she is so sexy.  She is called Natsuna.

I don't want to watch films though so... damn :(

Odin, nice! watching Kabuto. I envy you, I loved Kabuto.

I may give Blade another shot

i just finished watching blade. no denying it was hard going for about 16 episodes then it picked up and around episode 23 started to get good, and it maintained on that route until the end. im glad i stuck with it but i stil dont have anything to compare it with as its the first Rider series i watched. i think im going for W next. i dont know why. maybe cause im saving Kabuto for later in the year.

I watched kabuto for a while but somehow i could not sit through it all, I may continue watching it some other time, I just switched to Akibaranger season 1 and now that I have finished watching gobusters I can enjoy it without comparing it and it really stands out on its own, it makes me wish that they did the same with an unofficial Kamen Rider, Now I have a Super Sentai fever and I can't seem to decided which series to watch next, 3 caught my eye which are Boukenger, Dekaranger and Hurricanger, I'm probably leaning more to Hurricanger but I would like to hear your suggestions for a sentai series.

Super Sentai I have already watched:

Gokaiger

Gekiranger

Shinkenger

Akibaranger

Go-busters

Well, I'm watching Zyuranger when TV-Nihon posts new vids, and currently am watching Kyoryuger. I might watch Goseiger soon for the sake of watchin Sentai in reverse order for the most part.

cool, i'm currently getting the Guys in spandex subs of Zyuranger and will replace them with TV nihon once they have finished doing their subs of the series.

all 3 of those series are good.

although Hurricanger is good it is of a different feel than the other 2, its like an older sentai, you may or may not like that.

Dekaranger is just awesome (i'd say look at my review but it got swept away in the forum cull awhile back i think :( )

Boukenger is alright, its entertaining enough but not as good as Dekaranger IMHO.

i also highly recommend Dairanger - its probably my favourite sentai so far (review still up).

i recommend staying away from Goseiger - its S**t.

I have too many sentai to watch!! i have all the recent ones i havent seen and also have got Jetman and waiting for GUIS to finish Maskman and Kakuranger..

i am going to start Shinkenger soon.

on the KR front i am watching  W ,and  i'm really enjoying it.

hehe, thanks for the recommendation, I guess I will go with DekaRanger then, I have Dairanger aside too but after watching the first episode I noticed that it is one of those series that I have to be in the mood to watch, I will watch it eventually since I'm a sucker for Kung Fu theme shows (heck Gekiranger is one of my top sentai), after I watch Zyuranger I will give Dairanger a shot, I don't mind a series being old, some of the things I like are very oldschool.

watched the first five episodes of Dekaranger, the first episode seemed rushed to me but I still liked it, I also noticed that this series is in a similar fashion to cowboy beebop where there is not a main badguy perse but the story goes through the motions, I have not seen that on a sentai yet so I will definitely watch this till the end, I'm also getting Kuuga and Agito later, specially agito since I'm curious about Gills ever since I played him in super climax heroes, he is just badass.

I have now fully downloaded the Kuuga and Agito series but I noticed something about the kuuga subs, it does not sub the Unidentified Lifeforms language  (I am only on episode 5 so I don't know their real name) the sub group where I got this was the midnight crew, they are currently doing a new version of the Kuuga subs with the enemies language included but apparently it is on hiatus so I ask now, is there a script that I can use that lets me know what the heck the enemies are saying? i would really appreciate it, oh and kuuga seems awesome so far btw, Godai seems like a fun guy although a little too carefree at the moment. XD

I have that exact same problem when I was watching Kuuga.  But I also learned that those sub-titles were not included in the original air of Kuuga as the director wanted to present the grongi as mysterious beings.  It's frustrating sometimes for me.  I think the subs were only added on the DVD release later on.  So if you are seeing those subs, you got lucky.  Unless you can speak grongi.  Did you know they actually constructed the grongi language?  It's similar to japanese in grammar but uses different sullables.

I heard something like that but since I am currently learning japanese I wont try to learn gronji XD, it is pretty cool that they went above and beyond and invented a new language like star trek did with klingon. I guess I can view it like that then if the director meant for the audience to not know what they where saying.

Currently watching Ultraman Ginga in order to replace wizard on my time slot :P , I must say I like the first episode although it started a bit goofy, will continue watching it for now.

Caught up on Wizard, and I need to catch up Kyoryuger. I'm disappointed that Mayu is just a generic Movie-rider, though I like the fact White Wizard might have a shady motive.

I think

Fueki is actually Wiseman

And I love the ending to Akibaranger Season Tsuu.

Up to episode 6 of Ultraman Ginga, I frankly don't what to think of this one, it is certainly a bad start for me to introduce the Ultra series with it, some episodes are hits while others are horrendous and I really want to like Ginga just for the fact that the opening theme is so freaking awesome, it is a good thing Garo has gotten so awesome lately as well as Kyoryuger who's story is tarting to pick up relatively well, can't say the same for wizard....ok, I will stop bashing on it, I am sure someone here like it, right?

Last episode of Kyoryuger was pretty fun, the Daigo fanservice is pretty random but I will let it slide, I am very anxious to see the 10th Kyoryuger, on other notes Garo is turning out awesome as always and the reveals are a lot less predictable this time which is a welcomed change, don't care much for the villain tho, sure it was shocking once it was revealed who he is but frankly he is not menacing enough and his 2nd in command is a lot cooler, the story is more about Ryuuga trying to retrieve his armors former gold shine. Watch the first episode of Hurricanger a whole back and so far I am hooked, maybe is because of the intro theme, it has a very nice epic appeal to it, not as AWESOMERIFIC as Gekiranger's theme but still cool.

I'm actually surprised that you guys were able to stomach watching sentai.  I make no offense when I say that.  I just felt that sentai has not evolved since I started watching it when I was still a kid.  Story-wise they may be different, but the concept remains the same that it has became somewhat predictable for me.  Comparing sentai from different eras, it still follows the same formula.  Not so sure about the latest iteration, but perhaps you guys can educate me.

Durendal, the value in super sentai for me is the unique stories and character development. this is unfortunately something that was very rare anyway. I enjoyed 2 series, hurricanger and abaranger, the rest are pretty lame. gobusters was interesting, but on retrospect, was not much better than some american kids shows. I wanted to watch super sentai and kamen rider in order to get the same sense I got from some episodes of hurricanger and abaranger. and kamen rider faiz and ryuki.

The music was beautiful and atmospheric in hurricanger and really helped the show.

plus, I wanted to share with my brother.

I can't speak for anyone else so I don't know why others continue to watch.

I don't even watch any other japanese shows these days. I find more reward in re-watching star trek the next generation. and I'll watch that game of thrones after that I reckon.

I watch toku for various reasons, mostly is for the characters and stories, if they are entertaining and three dimensional then I have no trouble with it regardless of the costume designs hence why I love Fourze yet i hate Wizard. The villains in particular have to be great or I lose interest fast also. Go-busters and Gekiranger to me are the most enjoyable and I managed to get my little brothers and sisters to join in and the loved it and their age range now is from 18 and up so they must be doing something right, although the real enjoyment they get is from watching Kamen Rider series and Garo. Other reasons for my watching is for helping me improve on my writing and creation of characters, also to learn Japanese. XD

Overall Super sentai has been a very enjoyable experience ever since I started watching it and it's quality since shinkenger (which was my first sentai series) has not degraded that much in my opinion.

back on topic....

i finished watching MASKMAN!! and did enjoy it but it was slightly repetitive.... however to answer Durendals early question i like watching Sentai because its just easy viewing its fun and i watch it a bit tounge in cheek ... also for the archetypal characters, the story (if it has one!!),  the action - which is why i tend to lean towards kung fu sentai , giant robots combining and the teams dynamic...

i havent come across a better sentai than DAIRANGER yet though!!!!!!!!!

I finished watching KAMEN RIDER W and did overall enjoy the whole series, i feel it kind of diverged from where it was heading or slightly stalled halfway through and could have been a bit greater than what it achieved but still, i enjoyed it .

Right now i am watching KAMEN RIDER RYUKI  and SHINKENGER

SHINKENGER  is ok, it has potential.

KAMEN RIDER RYUKI is actually really good. i can now see why Ryuki has been going on about it all this time...

i really wish i had watchd this before KR Blade as Blade just is a poor reworking of Ryuki from what i can tell, i think its just the cards thing but also Blade took bout 17 episodes to get into with Ryuki its instant and it builds from ep 1... im now at ep 31 after 2 poor episodes- a kind of flashback ep and another random ep which has just totally left the main storyline,i hope that they get back to the main story soon!!!

Ryuki is like Naruto a loveable fool who will fight for whats right, you ant help but like him. the mix of comedy and action and story is well done, the story pace is engaging and the melodramatic music is also a good addition to the whole lot.its just a overall good show... i hope it just doesnt dissapoint from now to the end.

I don't think you'll be disappointed.

it's the latter part of the series that really made it the number 1 series for me.

don't get me wrong, the whole lot of it is great. I especially love the part where he is in the office and gets too hot. that was so funny it had me in creases.

and then the part where he is on the desk and falls and does gymnastics. replete with scorecards and everything!

the characters are all just so interesting. real good character development all round. one character you thought was one way, in the end sort of remains that way, but kind of shows them self in a different light.   I would really love to see your reaction to this series once completed. I like your commentary on some series but this one will be really rewarding for me. I have watched it through twice and will really enjoy the chance to relive it again through your words.

haha yeah i think that was ep 30 with the gymnastics in it! he does the flip lands on the desk with 10.0 on his back but then falls off because someone threw something at his head ! so random, but so funny!

i will be sure to post when ive finished watching it...
