I am really liking this show so far and i like how they talk in unison. Reminds me of Gogeta, Gotenks and Vegito from DragonBall-Z-GT. I must say though that W is a bit cocky at times when fighting the kaijin. Plus it was funny how Philip had to come and bail out his partner by using the big RiderRover (I don't know the name so I call it that).

Hmm at least Kamen Rider is now watchable.

I really enjoyed TVN's version.

I watched it on broadcast, couldn't get a good signal. missed out on a hell of a lot of stuff.

i watched it subbed by harorangers. it just felt awkward.. not sure why. perhaps something about the phrasing?

I decided to have a look at TVN's version and see what it is like. it seems that there is no annoying stuff or untranslated attack names etc. well all hte attacks were in english.

to be honest, I prefer takenoko's translation.

I noticed that philippe was writing in russian.

well half russian and half japanese.

ok, maybe it wasn't russian but it was using cyrillic script.

cyrillic is used also by languages similar to russian.

Mighty silent here. Is anyone still watching this? it is either you guys are stupefied with awed of the show or are completely turned off that you refuse to discuss it. In any case, I still haven't watched episodes after the first since I currently don't have any means of watching it (no PC, huhuhu). I don't seem to see anyone scrutinizing the details of the show. But reading the previous posts it seems that the show is finally on the right track (hopefully).

how do you feel about W as compared to previous riders?

up til this point we have a monster of the week, a complete absence of any j-horror themes, a giant vehicle that is used ALL THE TIME...

I would have thought tales would really hate this show by this point.

although his earlier comments have not been to that effect.

I'm really not enjoying it up to now.

I'm finding the characters incredibly weak and empty. the story is a tad far fetched and unrealistic. it is introducing a few too many weird concepts and it seem that it is just 'for the hell of it'. it doesn't seem very 'grounded'.

I hope it will change, but i don't see any j-horror elements coming into it really...

I'm comparing this to ryuki and those era of masked rider. also, basing on what tales has said about the earlier riders.

if I compare this to den-o or decade... i guess decade doesn't count because it is designed to be an amalgamation of previous riders.

so to compare with den-o.

i guess the atmosphere is similar. but in den-o the characters seemed to be strong. also there was an underlying tension with airi.

I don't feel any tension with this.

instead it feels just like what i have previously said was happening.

kamen rider is becoming sentai.

not that I'm going to blame it or judge it as compared to previous series. of course i will judge it on its own merits.

at the moment though, it doesn't seem to have many merits.

That's a good point. I also noticed that is was slightly lacking in that department. Though they are having him use his bike more than any of the other Heisei Rider from Hibiki and up.

Still, this show could use a bit more oomph. Though it has only been 4 episodes so it may start out week but it may grow stronger as it continues.

I did like how Phillip went sidetracked during a battle when the word 'family' was mentioned as he then started to remember slight forgotten memories of his past.

Also, why were the subbed and RAW threads merged into one thread?

i like some of the concepts and ideas, the different powers depending on which side is used, etc. i liked the idea of the heat/metal rod, becoming like a whip when he went luna/metal. the giant vehicle wasn't actually used in either episode 3 or 4, he's using the bike a lot more which i like. i don't like his gimmicks like the bat camera, stag phone and spider watch, they are not really needed. he could do the job with just a regular camera, etc. i really don't like the bad guys, they seem like a regular sentai monster family, they have the upper bad guys who don't join in the fight, cannon fodder bad guys, who get destroyed each episode/2 episodes, and they have just introduced nazca, who is so like the typical wolzard type character, etc. a bad guy who resembles the hero. i like shotaro and phillip, and hope they develop a bit more, but i hate the girl.

thats it really, it's not grabbing me like a kamen rider usually does, it seems maybe... dumbed down? i dunno.

3 sundays went by and not one word from anyone. This looks very grim for the show indeed. Again, I still can't comment on anything because I still haven't watched past episode 1. And the comments you guys made doesn't really give much incentive in watching this. Perhaps this is another Kiva?

I haven't watched past episode 2 so I have nothing to say about this.

I feel no drive to watch the show to be honest since nobody is talking about it.

I can watch it any-time. I have no motivation to rush to watch it.

Yeah, I guess that's how I also feel. A lot of the regulars on this sub-forum seems to have gone MIA. Did we scare them off with our niceness?

The last episode I saw ws the introduction of Kamen Rider Double Cyclone Metal. The profile on Veoh I'd view to access the episodes of Double & Shinkenger is apparently gone. So I haven't seen any episodes since.

i think im up to seven now... im not sure. maybe six. the last one i watched was the when the little girl thought W was her father.

to me, that one episode has urged me to continue watching it a bit more. tho it is my opinion, my personal views of W were dropping fast. especially with the giant trex head on a persons body. others may of liked it, but i wasnt impressed by it. i nearly turned it off to be honest.

then there was the two episodes with the money monster... and just.... ugh. again i got cranky with it, but i finished it. however, the next two episodes were good. i was like, wow! it got better! im talking about the two episodes with the little girl that i mentioned earlier. i think that was five and six.

however, i hated what tvn did as the title screen, i guess its called the title screen, its the first still frame that pops up when you start the video. it just seemed distasteful to me.

but for now, im gonna continue to watch the series. it may continue to improve enought for me to finish the whole show. who knows.

Well, I do find it interesting so far. It has that Showa feel but still retains some of thw seriousness of the early Heisei and the whackiness of the later Heisei. Of course though, I was taken back to Den-O days in Eps.7.

let's just say they do a KR W version of Ryuutarous, Den-O Gun Form with Double (more like Philip) learning how to break dance and then using said break dance to defeat a Dopant.

den-o? really? i just watched ep 7 and 8. and i got more of a faiz vibe from it. mainly cause la cockroach kept jacking the dudes memories right out from under his nose.

i gotta say. i really enjoyed these two episodes. to me, it wasnt goofy at all. well.... i could of done with out the breakdancing teamup on the cockroach. that kid shouldnt of stood a chance. that part annoyed me due to lack of beleivable actions. but all in all i say this set, (i call two episodes that practically make one story a set) was better than all the rest. so im pleased.

o yeah, i didnt mind the cat being a commander monster an all... but i would of preferred it to be more.... cat like. what i mean is, i wish it would of stayed on all fours, instead of walking around on two legs. like he mans tiger!

Now that's funny. I haven't watched Eps.9 yet but I probably will within the next couple of days.
