Toku Warrior Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Ah, no "Henshin!"? Oh well. It's a brainy Dragon Knight. Quote
Bobby Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Dude, this IS an American series. The character's names are Western names. Not Japanese. Remember??? Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I know that. T'was a joke. Though, a lot of my Riders are American but I do try and give them some link to Japan so I can add the Henshin phrase to it. Actually, I think it'll be somewhat funny when the Seiyuu for the Japanese dub for KRDK have to say Kamen Rider instead on Henshin but that's just me. Now, have you figured out what movements he'll perform beofre shouting out his transformation phrase. Quote
Bobby Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 No. Just wrote the scene where the Psychosians are unleashed. All I know is that part of the moves is Brian putting his fingers on his head. And if you read the thing I e-mailed, you'd know what connection this series has with Japan. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I easily forget things. I'll have to re-read it to remember. So, besides the fingers on his head, what about arm movement or fist balling (thinks of Kamen Rider Black and Black RX)? Quote
Bobby Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Something has to be done to the belt. Let's look at Medulla to see what can be done: Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Well, I was thinking. Remember that clip from Armor Hero I posted a couple of posts back to show you the transformation sequence? How about I redesign Medulla's buckle to show a similar resemblance to both Kuuga and the Armor Hero belts. Technological yet ancient looking. Your thoughts? Quote
Bobby Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 What was the original design based on??? Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) You wanted me to do the exact thing last time. you asked me to draw a belt that had a type of ancient technological look to it. the first desing (the one in the Medulla image) is a combination of Kuuga, Den-O and slight Decade. Now that you want the buckle redone I was thinking of a new way to do it but still keep the ancient technological look to it. Here are the belts I'm refering to. Kuuga's Arcle and Fire Dragon Hero's Element Belt. These are the belts I am thinking about using as the base for the new belt design for Medulla. Quick tip on the Fire Dragon Hero's Element Belt. The front (buckle) of the belt is that ying-yang symbole with the dragon claws on all 4 sides of the cirlce. Those jutting discs on the side can be turned to call forth weapons and activate special attacks. Edited January 6, 2010 by Toku Warrior Quote
Bobby Posted January 6, 2010 Author Posted January 6, 2010 I just wanted to know what Riders you based the belt on since you based the rest of the armor on Agito & Decade. I didn't ask for a redesign. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Huh? But you just said in an earlier post that something needed to be done with the belt. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Well, I can think of 3 things then for that. 1) have him slam his palms against the gems on the sides of his belt to activate the transformation (Agito style). 2) have him press one of the 4 buttons on the side of the buckle to activate the transformation (Den-O style). 3) have him close the buckle together to activate the transformation. The golden line in the center could be the sides of the buckle that close together. (Reverse Kamen Rider Leangle style) Quote
spectre555 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) Guess Kamen Rider Gadgets need to be "toyish",eh,Bobby?Guess this is one aspect of Kamen Rider where merchandising and the show are related closely.Well, you better figure this one good. The activation sequence better be easy to do. Heh, truth be told i feel Cosmos's belt needs to be redesigned. Edited January 7, 2010 by spectre555 Quote

Remember how he pushes the side to activate his transformations & attacks??? Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Good catch. Sorry, I was getting ready for bed when I wrote that. You got a good point Spectre. A lot of our Riders are suffering the Toei curse of marketing. Considering a lot, if not all, of our Riders are somehow inspired by a Toei Rider in some way, fashion, and/or form. Quote

Bobby Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 Please delete the post above that's a duplicate. I think Medulla should do something to the belt that's different than his Japanese predecessors. I've done the part where the Psychosians have been unleashed. Not sure what the next scene should be. The University where Stella works or the auto repair garage where Sheldon works. I think the repair garage should have some kind of wolf name. Quote
Bobby Posted January 16, 2010 Author Posted January 16, 2010 I'm on another important part of the story. Still have no clue what Brian should do to activate his powers. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 How about he inserts a disk into a slot in the top of the buckle which then activates the metamorphosis? Or you can have him either swipe his palm past the front of the buckle after choosing a form he wants to use or have him place his palm on the buckle, allowing it to read his DNA via touch while it does a voice recognition sequence when he yells 'Kamen Rider!'. Quote
spectre555 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Eh, Brian is an american, he would not say something foreign. I was thinking since Medulla's concept is related to the mind, try something that looks like it signifies mental awakening. Quote
Bobby Posted January 16, 2010 Author Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) "Mental Awakening" is the name of the origin episode, which I am working on. Where would the disk be with the belt??? There's no mention of it. And we have to remember that the first transformation is an involuntary reflex. He has to accidentally do something to the belt to trigger the transformation when the Wolf Psychosian attacks. That will be what he does to activate it after the belt materializes. The main form is the default form like Kiva's Kiva Form. Edited January 16, 2010 by Bobby Quote

I was thinking since Medulla's concept is related to the mind, try something that looks like it signifies mental awakening. Spectre, Yelling Kamen Rider isn't a foreign thing in an American Tokusatsu series. That what the Riders in Kamen Rider Dragon Knight said to transform (being the American adaption of Kamen Rider Ryuki). @Bobby, I was just thinking about something when I had suggested the disk. not many other things can be done to cause an accidental transformation when it comes to the brain and the belt. The only other thing I can suggest is to go a Decade / Blade route with the buckle. You notice the golden lines in the center of the buckle, just have him accidentally push the sides closed, connecting them as one (kinda like how Tsukasa would push the handles on the Decadriver to close the buckle, reverting the driver back to its original position. Then when he form changes he can press a switch to open it back up, press a form button on the side panels (the black areas of the buckle) and then reclose the buckle. This is possibly the only other thing I can think of. Either that or just go the Agito route and have him slam his palms on the side of the belt. Quote
Bobby Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 It's possible. The line between the yellow lines indicate the opening. I could work with that. The belt could materialize with the buckle sides apart and Brian could accidentally push them together when he first transforms. Then use that for future transformations. Quote
Bobby Posted January 20, 2010 Author Posted January 20, 2010 The Psychosian has entered Sheldon's mind and begun to take shape. I got until the end of this month to finish the story. Quote
