*Kenji Murakami Posted July 15, 2011 Author Posted July 15, 2011 I've gotten the rest of the funds I'm going to use for Comic Con, Mom's got the extra stuff she needs to keep the plants in good shape, and my costume is coming along great! I'm so stoked! Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 My costume is all done but the boots, I'm packing my clothes and other items for the trip, I'm almost finished getting my snacks... and Mom and my sister are almost finished, too. Quote
Toku Warrior Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 How much longer till you set out for Comic Con? Hope you don't forget to pack anything. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 I just got back a couple days ago; and I finally managed to get all of my stuff in order. I'll be reporting on the process of getting to and from the Con day-by-day, though I'll probably have more to say about some days than others, naturally. All in all, though, I definitely had a great time. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 The first day of our trip, a Tuesday, started at 10 in the morning. We all piled into the family car, on our way to Coronado to spend a day with my sister's friend J - whose name is hard enough to spell that I think everyone pretty much just calls her that – and started off on our trip. We live in Redwood City, so the trip itself was a pretty long one; not to mention all the food and drink we had to pack for the duration, so that made the car pretty crowded. Not to mention the fact that my costume was in there with us. We had all of our clothes and stuff for the hotel in the trunk, though, so that was nice. We arrived at around 8pm, so none of us was really in the mood for anything more than dinner, some light conversation, and sleep. I will say one thing, though: Outback Steakhouse makes their food entirely too spicy. Quote
Mirabilis Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Awww...road trips....I've experienced this far too many times. Moving around so much, and then paying visits, uh when I go on road trips now I want to drive all the way through I am so tired of the whole "stop and rest" routine. I like to get it done as quickly as possible. I dont have alot of patience. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 Day two, Wednesday: the sofa bed at J's house is incredibly hard, not much better than sleeping on the floor. I still managed to get a decent night's sleep, and so did Mom, but I don't like remembering it. It wasn't a good time. Anyway, we made it to the hotel - called the Handerly - and unpacked. We were also able to get the four-day passes for Comic Con a day early, so that was nice. My feet and legs basically hated me by the time we made it back to the hotel, though. I don't do well with walking. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 After quite a bit of waiting, I finally got the next page; definitely cool. Chapter 7, page 10: Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 Chapter 7, page 11: Chapter 7, page 12: Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 19, 2011 Author Posted August 19, 2011 Chapter 7, page 13: I didn't even have to pay for this one; she says it's because I'm so patient with the delays, but I figure that she has her own life, and she obviously works hard on all of her commissions, so I make it a point not to bother her. *Kenji Murakami Posted August 28, 2011 Author Posted August 28, 2011 I come bearing pictures from Comic Con. Quote
river_chaos Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Looks like you had a good time there. Who did you go as? The costume looks familiar. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 I went as D-Boy, from Tekkaman Blade. The really funny thing is, when we started to leave the TARDIS model behind, someone dressed up as the Fourth Doctor came by. I asked him if he had any Jelly Babies, since that's pretty much the Fourth Doctor's trademark - well, one of them, anyway - and he gave me one. So, it was kind of like D-Boy getting a Jelly Baby from the Fourth Doctor. Weirdest. Crossover. Ever. Quote
