*Kenji Murakami Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Well, I'm going to get me a PS2 and some games today; probably just the Kingdom Hearts series, but I might buy Katamari Damacy, too. I've been thinking about it. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 kenji, you are my hero!! katamari damacy is pure awesomeness! Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 Well, the bad news is that Best Buy didn't have that game, the good news is that I managed to get Kingdom Hearts 1, 2 and Chain of Memories for the my PS2. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 awesome stuff kenji! another game i highly recommend is shadow of the colossus. Quote
LordSpleach Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Shadow of the Colossus is a must! Also get the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Trilogy(Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and Two Thrones), Hitman Trilogy (2: Silent Assassin, Contracts, Blood Money), every Silent Hill on the PS Double(2,3, 4: The Room, and 0rigins), Red Factions 1 and 2, Beyond Good & Evil, Shinobi(if you really want a challenging game), and last but not least, for a good multiplayer get Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. You definately want a multitap for that one. Edited September 2, 2009 by LordSpleach Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 that's a lot of games to recomend dude. I only recommended shadow of the colossus because it has won awards, is pretty unique and is considered by many to be the greatest game in the past ten years. besides that, I CERTAINLY wouldn't rate red faction 2 or shinobi. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 2, 2009 Author Posted September 2, 2009 What's the attraction of those games, Spleach? What're they about? Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 some of those games are pretty good, i just thought wow, overload! hitman is a good stealth and logic type game. it's like a puzzle. silent hill games are very scary. Quote
LordSpleach Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 What's the attraction of those games, Spleach? What're they about? Well, Red Faction 1 and 2 are a couple of good shooters. The Prince of Persia series is a good action platformer with some puzzles and time rewind. Shinobi is a straight up action game but hard in a good way. Now Beyond Good & Evil is a diamond in the rough. Basically you're a reporter covering the invasion of the planet you're currently living on. Eventually, you find a conspiracy, the usual. My only problem with game is it's too short. And Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is a fun arcade dungeon crawler. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 you are right lordspleach, a diamond in the rough, beyond good and evil is strictly on par with the zelda games and oukami. it is most certainly my kind of game. alas even though it is one of my personal favourites, I wouldn't say it's award winning. so i personally won't recommend it right now, only Shadow of Colossus. sorry lordspleach, I hope you don't think i'm being awful, I just don't want kenji to be overwhelmed. kenji, how are you finding your new game so far? Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 I like it; I spend a lot of time leveling-up so I don't get killed all the time against the stronger opponents, and there are times I need to go watch a playthrough to get me past a sticking-point, but for all that it's very enjoyable. *Jess♥ Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I liked kingdom hearts 1 but i didn't like number 2. I don't know what chain of memories is. is that a subtitle for a series of games? is it relate to a certain game like final fantasy? Quote
*V Guyver Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Well I have some suggestions. FFXII was a good final fantasy, even though I'm usualy not into the main series. Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. Probably one of the best unknown games outthere. Best 5 bucks I ever spent, would gladly of spent 40 bucks for it when it first came out. Great AI and suprising depth into gameplay. Capcom VS SNK 2. Just one of the best 2D fighting games out there. Guilty Gear X2. Not my favorite 2D fighter, but great music, graphics, and gameplay. A no brainer. Marvel VS Capcom 2. Manic fun, though horribly unbalanced. Gun. Decent game and worth playing for it's story. A bit of a turn down with the lack of replayability. But it's a soild game and you can probably get it for 5 bucks. Mercenaries. Great open game on the PS2. You have some nice GTA style game mixed with bounty hunter and the ability to order in weapons, ammo, health, vehicles, and air strikes is awesome. RE4. Just a great horror game, if you played the past games, you'll love it. But if you are someone like me, you'd get easily annoyed with the really slow pace and still somewhat awkward controls (just not my style of gaming) Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2. Both great games, one of the most stylish games out there and very creative. Devil May Cry 3. Awesome, great story line, gameplay, and difficulty settings that everyone can enjoy. just remember to get the special Edition version. MGS3... a must have. Okami. One of my personal favorites. If you love Zelda games and humor, then you should pick it up. Quote
LordSpleach Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I liked kingdom hearts 1 but i didn't like number 2. I don't know what chain of memories is. is that a subtitle for a series of games? is it relate to a certain game like final fantasy? Chain of Memories takes place in between 1 and 2. I haven't played it, but I know it has an odd card based battle system. Quote
LordSpleach Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2. Both great games, one of the most stylish games out there and very creative. MGS3... a must have. Okami. One of my personal favorites. If you love Zelda games and humor, then you should pick it up. I still need to beat Viewtiful Joe 1(Fire Leo is hard after a marathon of bosses), MGS3...Get Subsistence for better camera angles, and The End is my current favorite boss in the series(I still haven't played Guns of the Patriots yet). And Okami.....CLASSIC! Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 5, 2009 Author Posted September 5, 2009 I might have to try those someday, I think. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Well, I got my books today. The 1632 series, which means I will not be limited to reading the book and its sequels online. Not that I have anything in particular against that, but I really do prefer to curl up in bed with a good book rather than read it off the computer screen. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 SOM-2.htm The last two pages of Chapter 2, and the relevant chapter itself. I'm really pleased with these; of course, I'm generally pleased with most of her work. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 ha ha, chapter 2 is finished and page 2 is very almost finished in colour. I hope to finishe it tomorrow. the car was a bitch to do. XD I hope you don't mind but i didn't want to spend too much time on the car so i adapted to what i saw and we can possibly assume this is not the same car as the anime? althoughy, i can always re-do it if you want that car. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 That is a funny little coincedence. As to the car, the image I had in mind was the red one from the OAV. Both since it was the only one I'd seen at the time I'd been working on those scenes, and because it's my favorite. Though if you had something else in mind, that's fine with me. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 murakami's red sports car is a mazda. i had a lot of trouble trying to make the perspective look correct and did a lot of pushing and pulling of the lines. I have ended up with something that looks like an old volvo to me. but the structure looks sound. i think... if you wanted me to spend more time on it, I can fiddle with the bonnet and lights to make it look more like the mazda. i had already spent a lot of time on it though trying to make it look right. so i thought i'd stick with what i'd gotten and then ask you about it. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 20, 2009 Author Posted September 20, 2009 That looks good to me. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 Page 1 of chapter 3 just came in a couple days ago: Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 I so love having my notepad back in working order. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 Only one day left - hopefully - until the release of Guyver chapter 173. I am so stoked! I hope we find out something more about what Apollon, and/or, Agito, and/or Sho and the others are up to. Quote
