*Jess♥ Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 oh damn, I keep forgetting. our climate is warmer than it should be. i guess your temperatures are not TOO different? well I'll have to wait for you to reply. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Well, it was 104 degrees yesterday, and it felt like it was a bit hotter today. Summer for us is considered to begin in mid to late March, but I say California summer doesn't begin until July, when it starts to get really hot. Also, we had a bit of an unseasonable cool-spell in June, so that's some of it too. Quote
LordSpleach Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 What are your new avatar and sig image from, Spleach? Found them on photobucket. It's from the game Killer7 by Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture. Quote
Mirabilis Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 also, If we are recommending war films... I recommend none. I'm more like yourself in tastes kenji. I don't like the depression of war so I tend not to watch them. I hate anything to do with world war 2 in europe.. it's too close to home which is depressing enough even if it weren't to do with killing. I completely understand your point here. As for me I grew up in a military family, so i didnt really have a choice if i wanted to have anything to do with the military or not. But, because i grew up in a military home i grew up with a military life style and point of view. So i watched war films to understand the circumstances of war, what to expect and not expect. See the bounds of friendship overcome the cruelist hatreds, to see how weapons work, chain of command, engaging situations, and above all to Honor those who died by giving up my time to see what they went through, and to see the tribute given. That sort of thing. But, i dont really think or feel that way about them anymore, not after the things i heard anyways. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 15, 2009 Author Posted July 15, 2009 Yeah, that's why I watch them, myself. The ones I can deal with, that is. Quote

*Kenji Murakami Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 I can recognize a few of these - from Uzumaki and Gyo - but can someone tell me what the other pictures are from, and what the stories behind them is? Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 Oh, and if anyone has a copy of the song in the video, or knows where I can download one, I'd be very greatful. Quote
*V Guyver Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 here in the tristate area, it's been incredible cool and wet. The last two weeks have been the only real "spring" we've had all year thus far. We have yet to reach the 90's... and yet now another storm is hitting us and tempatures may dip into the 70's again. I have to say, the weather really has been pretty mild, good for me, but pretty bad for anyone who loves the beaches. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Yeah, I've heard the closeness of the ocean acts to moderate the temperature. Happily enough for us in Redwood City, it's not so blasted hot here anymore, either. It's good not being baked alive, of course, and I love the cool breezes that keep blowing through lately. Sorry about the nasty weather on your end, though. Quote
*V Guyver Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 No worries, I've rathered enjoyed it a bit. Got to wonder though, how is the hurricane season going to effect either of us. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 Yeah, I wonder about that myself. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 One of my LJ friends is looking for time off to watch a marathon of the Guyver TV series. I always like it when I manage to bring new people into the fandom - though it happens so rarely - so this is really fun for me. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 I've been getting back into some of my old projects lately, so that's been fun. And, as much as it freaks me out, I think I'm going to buy Uzumaki and Gyo for my manga collection. God knows I read them enough. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Well, I've ordered the manga; the freaky, messed-up, entirely mind-bending manga. They'll probably arrive sometime tommorow or the next day. Woe betide my remaining sanity, but you can't say they aren't a good read. In other news, I've got 115 out of my 137 Mood Theme images uploaded. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 This is a beautiful video, and it needs to be seen more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrAAKecFf-0&hl=en&fs=1 Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 Well, my manga came today; they still kind of freak me out, but they're very good reading. I rather enjoy them. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 One of my favorite musical scores from Sonic 2. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 2, 2009 Author Posted August 2, 2009 Two of my favorite tunes; two of my least favorite levels. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 Pages 3 - 6; had to get some alterations made to clear up a discrepency or two, but it's all fine now. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 Pages 7 - 10; the last that I've gotten thus far. Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSPBd-GcK2E&hl=en&fs=1 You play through an entire level made of candy, and at the end you fight a giant chocolate bar; man, old-school Disney games were weird. Quote
*Jess♥ Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 those games were messed up. it always bugged me how mickey killed them by smooshing them with his round bottom. 1 Quote
*Kenji Murakami Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 Yeah, it's like your only weapons are muffins, treasure chests, and a flying-butt attack. Something about that just seems wrong. Quote
