Well, I'm planning to buy Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, and I've already bought Tatsunoko VS. Capcom; I just need the Wii itself. Do you know if I actually need a charger for the controllers, or is that just an add-on?

  • oh by the way kenji, if i came to your house it would take 12 hours on an aeroplane! just as long as it would take to get to japan!!!!!! and i think maybe it would take 12 hours betwen you an japan.

  • those games were messed up. it always bugged me how mickey killed them by smooshing them with his round bottom.

i think you can use rechargeable batteries, it uses AA batteries i believe.

no, there would be nowhere to plug it in.

the wii is very compact.

the only connectings are the AV cable, the power and the gamecube controller ports.

oh and the sensor bar.

Ah; thanks for the clarification, Ryuki. Why does it have Gamecube contoller ports, though? Doesn't it come with a Wii remote?

ha ha, yeah it definitely comes with wiimotes. :D

it has gamecube ports because it plays gamecube games. :)

it is all backwards compatible so it needs ports for the appropriate controller.

although to go back as far as the n64, it needs to use emulation because it has a disc drive but no cartridge slot. so they can map the controller differently.

it doesn't come with gamecube controllers btw. the actual ports are hidden under a flap. they are more like legacy ports.

Ah, that makes sense, then. I don't get why they nixed backwards-compatibility for the PS3; seems kind of a stupid decision, and it's part of the reason why I'm not planning to get one.

Anyway, would you say the console itself is relyable? You didn't have any problems with yours?

no, really, I would say it's a beautiful machine.

nintendo have always had the finest workmanship and this is no exception.

I remember the first time i opened it up, the way it was packaged was beautiful in itself.

and taking it out it is such a compact, sturdy machine. the way things clip together is so satisfying and i felt like it would last forever.

I do miss it but the console is simply no good without any decent games. i would love for nintendo to bring out more of my type of game so i could own a wii.

Ah, lovely! It looks like I will be getting myself a Wii, then.

What are your types of games, incidentally, Ryuki? Quest-tyme games, like Okami or Kingdom Hearts? Fighting games? Or something else?

happy birthday :biggrin::D

yeah you got it, i like quest style games. well any adventure that has a clear story and balanced progression.

so i loved super paper mario , yes i loved oukami. kingdom hearts was a little annoying when it got to the gummi ship bit but mostly it was a great game.

mario galaxy was dull, the story was pretty much a copy of all other mario games with a side story thrown in on the side, that you don't even have to read.

most wii games these days are party games, family games, or similar.

no story or progression so not my style :D

Yeah, quest games are pretty cool, and I've always enjoyed a good story while I'm playing. Even if it is just a simple one. Though I do enjoy a good fighting-game every once in awhile, too. How 'bout you?

fighting games?

like street fighter? nah, i'd get bored with it.

i'd be like an actor "what's my motivation?"

Okami for the Wii is a must!

I already have it for my PS2, so I don't think I'll be getting that. Love the game, though.

They're good for stress relief sometimes, though; at least, I've found that to be true for Oni. Maybe just because I beat it and have the cheat codes enabled now, though...

That's funny; one of my favorite parts was the Gummi Ship mini-game, mostly because I can blow them to pieces and sell the remains to upgrade my ship.

fighting games could be good.....

if i could do well at them.

honestly, I find most fighting games far too frustrating to be able to take out my frustration on them. it's kinda a misnomer where i'm concerned.

well maybe i'm just doing the wrong ones.

bayonetta drives me crazy. naruto drives me nuts. i end up slamming my hands on the controller, throwing it behind me and bouncing on my chair stifling my raging screams.

it's because the bad guy hits you and there is no way to block it or dodge it. it's as if you have to know it is coming before it comes.

I think i played a good fighting game once. where i could watch the enemy and learn from his movements. i think that was good. because i really felt like i had achieved something impressive. can't remember what it was.

Therein lies the problem: it's only valuble as stress relief if you can actually manage to beat someone.

All right, I've considered pretty much all the options, and what I might or might not need, and I've decided that I am getting a Wii.

I think I might be finishing my second/third Teknomorphs story this month. Which is really cool, since I've got a lot done on the third instalment, and I've been eager to start posting it.

I just posted in the Guyver section again, and so will have to work extra hard to make the postcount I have in this blog exceed - hehe, Exceed - the one I have in that section of the forum.

I've completed Katamari Damacy - go me! - and have now moved on to trying to complete the collection of in-game objects that can be rolled up. I'm having a heck of a time with it, though; especially the cousins.
