Synopsis

PART HUMAN. PART ALIEN. PURE SUPERPOWER.

Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and the team behind horror classic Re-animator join forces for this electrifying live-action adaptation of Yoshiki Takaya’s celebrated manga series!

Having been smuggled out of the mysterious Chronos Corporation by one of its researchers, a bio-weapon known as the “Guyver” unit – which transforms its holder into a lethal super-being – ends up in the hands of Sean, a young martial arts student. Sean soon finds himself in the sights of the Chronos Corporation and its mutant henchmen, who’ll stop at nothing to retrieve the weapon.

Produced by Brian Yuzna (Society, Bride of Re-animator) and co-directed by special-effects masters Screaming Mad George and Steve Wang, The Guyver is an FX-laden extravaganza featuring a plethora of familiar genre faces such as Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes) and David Gale (Re-animator).

Looks good. With all these superhero movies out at the moment,  perhaps guyver may gain some fans

Supposed to be region free so I might get this even though after just rewatching it today I forgot how bad it really was lol.

I wonder if if the directors cut is extended..... XD

Like the sound of that little booklet. I'm surprised they've gone through this much effort for this film though. You'd think they'd just skip straight to Dark Hero. I can only hope that when they eventually release that on blu ray they give it similar treatment.

I'm hoping it does well enough they do Dark Hero and we get special features from the Japanese LD and possible more....

i dont like the box art at all...looks like amature drawing. i prefer the germany version limeted edition i got.

I agree that is a nicer "Guyver" cover.

But It's the special edition contents I'm after with this release (as there actually has something compared to the old US DVD release).

While it's not the best cover, it's still cool and better than having Mark Hamill on the cover.

Have to agree with Unit G on the cover art. I suppose if I can't enjoy the quality of the art, I at least like what it represents - that they were willing to commission an artist to do some brand new artwork for the film.

enother funny thing is that the gore parts of the blueray movie are lower quality, i wonder why, mybe those parts could not put in full HD because they do not have those parts on films ? i'm wondering :-D i remember my vhs did't have gore parts...

bye the way the movie on blueray is super! u notice stuff u didn't on vhs :-D

Perhaps the gore would have to have had special effects added, when brought in to HD,  they looked terrible, so we're left as they are? I'm hoping to get it soon, once my bank balance looks a little better!

Yay!  I know this film is pretty bad in general, let alone as a Guyver adaptation but this was the first Guyver thing I ever saw so I'll be getting this for nostalgia reasons alone. :)

Mine arrived today as I was leaving for work! I've not had a chance to even open the wrapper. Tonight I'll put some pictures up.

Funny thing is at the moment I'm going through a Star Wars rewatch of the second produced trilogy before I go to see Rogue One this Thursday morning (at 12:01 am!). The thing I find funny is I'll be watching a movie tonight which is most famous for having Mark Hammel in it and that he doesn't like
