Bobby Demosthenis Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 So there are Guyver Comics and books?! Bobby Quote
*zeo Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Yes, as you probably know this is a fan site based around a fan fiction based on the Guyver story. The original is a Manga Comic series that has been published since the mid-80's (so has over 25 volumes/books and is still going) and has had an OAV mini-series, an OAV movie, 2 live action movies, and one season of an anime series created for it so far. P.S.> Check guyverfanatic's signature for info on how to go about getting the Manga. Quote

Bobby Demosthenis Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 So how far has the story progressed since Episode 26 of the 2005 series, when Sho gets the Gigantic upgrade? I am lost. I remember the old series, where we had the old voices but I never watched all of them and don't know how far they went up to. Thanks and sorry for being a complete pain! Bobby Quote

Bobby Well the story has progressed a lot. Check out Japan Legend for the links to the scanlations to read up to the current chapters. But... order the English Chuang Yi Publishing versions first! (Much better and more accurate translations than the Viz Guyver books). Quote
Resurrected1 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 MY GOD!!!!! Just looked at Edwards Zoalord battleform and he looks tight!!! That is some awesomeness to behold right there Quote
guyverfanatic Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 No new Guyver for the October 2008 issue of Shonen Ace magazine. Takaya has gone back to writing Zeorymer Omega. So who knows how often we'll get a Guyver chapter. Quote
McAvoy Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I heard we won't get another for another year, towards the end of 2009. I think I heard that a few months ago on Japan Legend. Quote
guyverfanatic Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I heard we won't get another for another year, towards the end of 2009. I think I heard that a few months ago on Japan Legend. WTF. That is complete crap! What a travesty! I hope Chuang Yi Publishing at least puts out a few English Guyver volumes in the mean time. Quote
*zeo Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Well, it looks like Takaya didn't leave us completely hanging. . . next issue was released and according to the translation it appears Appylon is someone on or near Archanphel's level of power, at least that was what Caerleon got the impression of (thinking he was fighting Archanphel himself) just before Appylon handiledly defeated him and ripped his Zoa-Crystal out and leaving his mummified remains in the chamber that the 3 Zoa-Crystals had been stored as was later discovered by the Ark's crew when they found the chamber now empty except for the body... So Appylon left with 4 Zoa-Crystals and leaving us with 4 main possibilities 1) It's Archanphel with a split personality (possibly a projection of some sort) 2) Imakarum with a split personality (brain washing has taken its toll perhaps) 3) Some being with a connection to the Creators (though I personally don't think so) 4) Agito, transformed by the knowledge of the Creators he could have absorbed from the Navigation Spheres he got from the former Arizona Base Quote
guyverfanatic Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 I think it is either Alkanphel posing as Apollyon or it Agito having used the information within the spheres Quote
Takara Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 We should consider the time frames between the appearance of Appolyon when he collected Khan's crystal and whenever Agito got the Relic Navigation Spheres. Is there enough of a time lapse for Agito to have been able to pu the spheres to use and then get to Japan so he could collect Khan's crystal? Quote
*zeo Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I agree but Appyllon can teleport, so the distance from Arizona to Japan would be irrevelant. We just have to figure if the absorbed knowledge of the Creators would be both enough to transform him into Appylon and whether the transformation would have been quick enough for him to then teleport to Japan. Considering the Creators created Archanphel and Appyllon is demonstrating Archanphel like power that the possibilities of who Appylon can be are very limited, but I think the knowledge of the Creators given form through a Guyver's body could be enough to provide a possible solution to the mystery of Appylon's true identity. Alternatively, the knowledge of the Creators could have allowed Agito to activate and control Appyllon. Perhaps for example Appyllon is the Navigation Spheres given a humanoid form and controlled by Agito? Basically with the knowledge of the Creators at his disposal means all creator tech becomes Agito's play toy that he can manipulate at will. It could also explain Appyllons weird helmet shape... Juggernought Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Just an image i found of Apollyon while i was at work..... Quote
jedi-guyver Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Crazy Idea but from looking at the last image, maybe he is a zoalord with a control medal instead of a Zoa-crystal? Perhaps even the navigation spheres. Quote
*zeo Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 He's wearing a full body armor suit with cape, so its unknown what he's actually using but he appears to be extremely powerful. Quote
Resurrected1 Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 With the shape of the armor it almost seems like purgstall but we all know he's dead, but still . . . the body just seems like his to me. Quote
*zeo Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I thought it might have been him too but his Zoa-Crystal was one of the three stolen from the Ark and Appylon is way too powerful. Quote

guyverfanatic Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Well, apparently... Carleon is alive! He just doesn't have much longer to live. Apollyon's armor was scanned by the Ark and he is DEFINITELY NOT of earthly origin. So we can guess that he is an advent or another advent made being much like Alkanphel. Quote
*zeo Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Newest update from Chapter release 168. . . F G2 is fighting the pack of Enzyme III's, apparently she was unaware of their capabilities and is learning the hard way that the Guyver is not invincible against all. . . The guy wearing shades seems to have disappeared and put up a barrier over the whole area to prevent her from flying away and so she appears to be in deep trouble. . . Quote

Just got the armor and is already getting screwed over. Quote
McAvoy Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I am just wondering why introduce a new Guyver so late in the story. I mean it would have been better to introduce her maybe in Book 10 or 11. At this stage, a lone Guyver withoyut knowledge of her powers or the Gigantic, shouldn't impact the storyline too much. Though I feel she will be. Quote
*zeo Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Well she's definitely the "Out of Control" OAV character, same name anyway. Though with an artificial CM her abilities may not be entirely the same as the other Guyvers. . . we already noticed one quirk (though that may have been put in for pure fan service), which incidentally could explain her late introduction. Manga rules for such things are more lax now and it's a quick and easy way to boost sales. Quote

Perhaps a shakey alliance with Agito will insue later on? Just a hunch. But that's if she doesn't get killed off by the Enzymes, but then why bring her in at all like you say? Man I'm getting a headache just trying to figure it out. Quote
