TheGuyversWill Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Like I said, at first it was a Fan Fiction site. Now days it's only got two major fan fictions, IE the Warrior Guyver and the Great War of the Guyvers. That's two vs Star's Guyver Page Guyver2's playground Guyver Strike Force Guyver Fan Archive more to come! It's just an overall Guyver Fan site, dedicated to everything and anything Guyver. and gratz on your 100th post twilight!
Matt Bellamy Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Regarding TheGuyver.net and WarriorGuyver.com The truth of the matter is, due to mis-management around here, a lot of members felt that they needed to leave, and start their own thing. I remember back when it started, it basically only had it's few loyal fans, and even I didn't sign up until the Hacker incidents started to plague the forums. But again, with mismanagement, and then, the Hacker situation here, a lot of people moved onto their site which was also being regularily updated. Thus their site flourished, while ours remained stagnent, since we really burned ourselves out. But, changes are on the horizon, and the crusty burnt exteriors are starting to crumble away to reveal new, exciting things. Despite that fact that both James and I are mods on theguyver.net, it will not interfear with our updates for this site, when they are finished. The only reason we are mods over there, is due to the fact Admin respect our opinions, and more than once have we helped out each other. For instance, Drag-5, if you didn't know, is Admin and creator of theguyver.net, and yet, still retains mod status on these forums. And for the most part, the Admin of WG.com are actually friends with the Admin of theguyver.net, and talk regularily via instant messagers. It's because we are all Guyver FANS. The Guyver community has always been too close knit to have two important fandom sites be at war. We are fans. We go where the discussion is. It's as simple as that. And we cannot forget that fact. The recent activity here proves that there is still life here, and I for one will work that much harder, knowing that there are still ACTIVE people that want to see more of our work, and want to see this site live. 2007 will see the rebirth of WarriorGuyver.com. New Management, new material, and new features, are all on their way.
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Thanks GW. It's taken a lot of BS posts to get here. But yeah, it's a great fansite. But with all the talk about theguyver.net. I may need to run over there and take a look and see whats' going on. Since some of what I've been talking about pretty stems between here and there.
TheGuyversWill Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Heck's yeah's! TheGuyver.Net isn't too bad. I mean they do have a lot of information pertaining to the Guyver manga and anime, and well most things overall. The people who first put work into translating the tech manual are from over on that site, and so is Drag-5. Both of these guys have been around for a while. The overall appeal to the site is that it's like an updated star's guyver site. with most of the new info pertaining to the manga and what have you. It's really worth checking out. A good way to kill 2 hours if you know what I mean.

A good way to kill 2 hours if you know what I mean. Not to mention they have actually translated most of the manga that has been released. They offer both chapter by chapter synopsis on the site, on site reading of scanlations, as well as downloading the scanlations IF you own the volumes to be able to answer the question to open the zip file. They've definatly contributed to the Guyver community, in ways we never could. Which is why, as Will said, we're not going to compete, but instead focus on what we already are. Fan Fics, Fan Art and other fan works.
Twilight-Guyver Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Now you've given me atleast two more reasons to go over there and really give the site a good look over. Espeically those scans. Need them badly.
Rivyn Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 The RPG people who used to play their game on this board were offended by Brian asking them to find another place to play which lead to a lot of the conflict and overall inactivity of this board in the first place. But they judged his actions harshly without understanding the ramifications of their continued play on his server. In short, it was bogging down the overall site it was so huge. Riiiiiggghtt >> Long live the Guyvers Lair!!
TheGuyversWill Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Obviously I have no idea who you are, and since you only have 5 post on this forum, I'm guessing you weren't around too often back then. The RPG thing did cause a lot of strife and ended with a break away from this board of some of its most active members. Brian is not a stuffed Turkey. He's a cool guy who you obviously don't know to well. Oiy vey! Oh, and nice edit of your post.
BloodStorm Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Hi Guys. Bloodstorm here. Know I havn't been around alot lately, as I'm spending my time over at the guyver's lair. It's true, there was some strife between sully and a few of the roleplayers. Partially becuase, yes, we WERE the most active part of the board, and we DID use more space than the rest of the forums combined. If I recalled one conversation I had with sully, I beleave he told me we took up more space than the fanfictions did. Granted, I'm probobly wrong about that. My memory never was the best. I'll admit that. Our split was simply a logicaly one. We had outgrown what sully had intended for the roleplaying section to be. Neither us nor the WarriorGuyver forums could really benifit from staying connected much longer at that point. The move was inevitable. Could have been smoother, but seperation from one's parents is never the easiest thing to do, as those of use who's had to do such will surely remember. And yes, there have been some silly rivalries in the past. For reasons that are ultimately stupid. But in the end, we're all guyverfans. We just go about fandom in our own ways. -Guyver.Net is a great resource for fans, they've done great work. -Warriorguyver is a great collection of assorted stories. -Those of use at the guyver's lair do our own little thing. In a way, it's sort of like the fanfiction's here.. just with more writers for each story. Are ANY of use any better than the others? I don't think so. As for Zeptha.. I'll have to talk with him about that. He should know better.

Actually I was the board member formally known as Riven, who had over a 1000 posts. I had to create a new account because there was a time when I couldn't access the board and when I eventually did, I couldn't access my old account so I had to create a new one. As for Brian, I knew enough and I'll leave it that, but how about from now on if you have a something to say you come and say it to me and not go running to the admin staff of the Lair >>
Kaiser Dragoon Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 As for Brian, I knew enough and I'll leave it that, but how about from now on if you have a something to say you come and say it to me and not go running to the admin staff of the Lair >> Considering he had no idea who you were or even if you would reply to a PM Riven, I think the matter was handled rather well, all things considered and considering your previous statements I doubt the matter would've been handled just as well if you two were to start talking... But what's done is done, now let's all play nice and put our respective claws away. People are by no means saints, that includes everyone, Brian as well. We all have our faults and it is nigh impossible to get along with absolutely everyone all at the same time. Brian and others may have rubbed people the wrong way but that's true about anyone, so suck it up and move on. As for this issue of Drag's site, there's plenty of people to go around, sure everyone has a common interest and the two sites cater towards it, allbeit differently, WG is a fanfic based website and Guyvernet is far broader in its design with a minor fanfic section. I know this thread was probably designed to spark some life and get posts going, which it clearly has, being that it is now on its third page, but really, when members complain, whether jokingly or in a somewhat serious manner, and are apart of both forums it just looks silly. So relax, be merry and be glad that there are this many people who share a common interest and have multiple places to express their interest.
Matt Bellamy Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 I was kinda hoping that we'd not have these kinds of problems so early in the attempted ressurection... But if I must, I must. Topic locked. We are not trying to be a rival with any other sites. As I have said, " Guyver Fandom is Guyver Fandom, and any Guyver fandom is good." Zeptha/Riven, if for some reason you want your old account back, just PM me and I can get it back under your control.
